She's brilliant, I've always thought so but she is getting better all the time. Doing this really suits her.

Full speech from yesterday:

I've seen lots of positive comments online and I agree with them. She said what needed to be said (although I do disagree with her on the trail hunting issue), and the govt really had no comeback.

She also looks fantastic and I bet she's great fun at parties 🥳

I only wish her time had come a bit sooner, when the Conservative party still had a chance. I think they'd have been far better under her than Boris, or any of the others.

However she's doing a great job of holding Labour to account right now.

Conservatives (@Conservatives) on X

WATCH: @KemiBadenoch annihilate Keir Starmer and the entire Labour Party in her response to the King's Speech 🔥

I am very impressed by how she has grown into the job. She’s obviously worked very hard on how she presents herself.

JuliettaCaeser · 14/05/2026 07:29

I have to admit she’s the only politician who says things and I nod along. Which is slightly confusing as I consider myself slightly left of centre. I really like her comments on anti semitism.

Notmeagain12 · 14/05/2026 07:34

Why mention her looks though? What does that have to do with how well she does her job?

would you have used that sentence if she were male? “Looks fantastic and I bet she’s great fun at parties”

because it seems completely irrelevant.

although maybe being great fun at parties is a key conservative attribute- don’t they keep partying on while the rest of the country is in lockdown?

you’ve undermined your entire post with that one sentence.

pilates · 14/05/2026 07:35

I like listening to her speak; she is eloquent and smart. I feel she would be championing for the ‘working people’ and not the work shy.

FrogsWormsandButterflies · 14/05/2026 07:36

You’ve ruined your post by mentioning her looks

kinkytoes · 14/05/2026 07:37

@Notmeagain12 did you actually SEE her?

Presentation and personality is really important with politicians especially those on the front bench. It totally matters!

And I would absolutely say the same thing about a man.

Kemi impresses me regardless of her sex.

I disagree - see above. She is the whole package.

She would have taken us into a war with Iran to appease the orange one!!! No thank you.
we need a steady ship with labour.

SnappyNavyWriter · 14/05/2026 08:00

Kemi Badenoch would have plunged us into war with monstrous fuckwit Trump. She was slating the PM for being weak and not diving head first off a cliff into an illegal war.

Her lack of eloquence on that matter was laughable. She has since backed down and conceded that she was wrong and that it was the right thing to do to not get involved.

Yes she is well presented, yes she speaks well, she is educated and therefore should speak well. But no, she is not good for this country, her attitudes are repulsive and if she were in charge, you would not be so impressed.

hattie43 · 14/05/2026 08:19

Love Kemi more and more . She’s really getting into her stride .

Keep seeing different versions of this thread and always imagine a bright young advisor sitting in Kemi's office and churning them out. First task on the to-do list - - Mumsnet post about how great Kemi is.

Not entirely silly, surely?

Don't be naive. I am certain every single party does this. It's well recorded that the
Right has been better (or morally worse) than the Left at doing this. Look up Cambridge Analytica or AggregateIQ and Brexit!

AImportantMermaid · 14/05/2026 08:44

Is Conservative HQ on some sort of weird PR drive to make her popular? Or has her mum paid her mates to big her up? Or are you talking about some other Kemi? This thread is really weird, because the one I’m thinking of is nothing like you’re describing.

Justusethebloodyphone · 14/05/2026 08:47

Labour voter and I can see myself voting for her more than anyone else.

There is no perfection so it’s a process of elimination. I have ruled out any of the Labour challengers. No to reform or Greens. Both actual basket cases. I think Kemi has charisma and common sense.

The Labour Party is choked by its backbenchers. I would vote for Kier again if he could deliver on his vision but too many are stuck in student politics where they would rather feel righteous in their prescribed way rather than understand they are governing the whole country, not just those who agree with them.

Justusethebloodyphone · 14/05/2026 08:49

Oh and I ofcourse can believe these threads are started by Cons HQ!! Still impressed when I see her speak though.

Agree with this. These gushing posts are really very odd. They feel orchestrated - like the fake reviews on TrustPilot.

This. I thought the same. It is time people stop going on about Women's looks. It is totally irrelevant, and has nothing to do with what she is about.

Yes this. I was even thinking of starting a thread about this behaviour.

It's so blatant.

They seem to think they can take us for fools.

LaurieFairyCake · 14/05/2026 08:54

This is Kemi who will be going into coalition with Farage after the general ?

sounds fucking terrible to me

This is where I am.
