Who are Scottish people voting for next month?

Maybe look at the wider picture and forget about transwomen. They’re a minority

These men (TiMs) impact all the women in the country though, by trampling on their rights and dignity.

I can't just "forget about them".

They're THE issue at this election, just as they were at the last - and we all know what happened then.

I used to be a member of the SNP and I always voted for them. But when Sturgeon et al decided to bow down to this false ideology, I just couldn't anymore.

It's a vitally important issue. It might not be to you, OP - but women's rights are of the greatest importance to me.

This single issue is causing a vast proportion of the population to be politically homeless. That includes me.

I can't vote for a party which believes that human beings can change sex FFS.

they are a minority who have a major impact on women’s rights. No way am I going to be voting for anyone who doesn’t take women’s rights seriously which means a big NO to snp greens Lib Dem’s and labour.

Two Tories voted for GRA.

Most people in Scotland are poor and unable to access healthcare already due to the snp’s incompetence. I’m not prepared to give up women’s rights in exchange for another bad government who will not fix the healthcare system either.

Can I ask you what rights you think you’re going to lose?

The right to keep men out of women's single sex spaces.

We all have things important to us. If you go to the SG website you’ll find so many policies that have centred women.

The right to keep men out of women's single sex spaces.

There won't be anyone to enforce your obsession.

Scotland's public revenue: £91.4 billion (8.0% of UK total).

Public spending in and for Scotland: £117.6 billion (9.1% of UK total).

Net fiscal deficit: £26.2–26.5 billion (≈ 11.6–11.7% of Scottish GDP).

UK overall deficit: 5.1% of GDP — less than half Scotland's rate.

The UK massively funds Scotland and doesn't even get recognition for it. PLEASE get the independence you crave!

Scotland is in the UK. How can it subsidise itself. Honestly if you don't understand that you shouldn't vote.

To be fair London massively boosts gdp and other relevant to financial viability measures (but it's also hugely subsidised and a policy suck)

GaiaGarden · 12/04/2026 20:19

I can hardly believe I’m writing this but for the first time in my life I am contemplating voting for my current Conservative MP. I’m another politically homeless (former Labour). I spoilt my ballot at the last GE. My local MP does a good enough job so my vote is purely on that basis. And yes, the “woman” issue and single sex spaces are a factor for me too.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 12/04/2026 20:28

@GaiaGarden I've also vaguely thought of possibly voting for the Conservative at the election but I just can't!

Right, I've checked out the two Independents. One is more right-wing than the actual Tory, so he's a no-no.

I've sent a message to the other, to discover what his policies are.

I know … I feel the same. Spoiling my ballot last time felt wrong as I’ve voted all my life and women fought and died for the right to vote I have. I do think there’s something to be said for choosing on the basis of local performance.

The Tories want to cut taxes to the point where there won't be a functioning state

Who cares if men can go in women's public spaces if there are no public spaces?

Get a grip you luxury issue loons!

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 12/04/2026 20:42

Get a grip you luxury issue loons!

The erosion of women's rights is not a "luxury issue" FFS.

Which of my rights have been eroded?

OP posts:
YellingAway · 12/04/2026 20:48

@Differentforgirls As I suspected, the only part of my post picked up in my post was that in relation to Trans. There are huge issues in Scotland including how close we were to allowing trans people to have unmitigated access to womens spaces. They need spaces and support as they will have their own issues but my post considers many other areas for my concern.

It's very much a luxury issue if your family is hungry, unemployed and unprotected from sickness and crime.

ohnonotthisargumentagain · 12/04/2026 21:24

Actually some of the worst affected women are those who are worst off. Female prisoners for example being housed with men who claim to be women. Women who lose their jobs because of speaking out on this issue will also suffer difficulties. If this issue is so luxury and unimportant you would think that your favourite parties would just drop their attempts to remove single sex spaces and force us to accept that people can change sex. Why don’t you suggest that to them instead ?

I think I am sick of every attempt to deal with any problem descending into this shit. I don't care at all and I'm furious fucking reform will ream us because of people like you!

CurdinHenry · 12/04/2026 21:29

Incel boys with no hope for the future battering your daughter in class with no consequences but ooo what if they say they're a girl that's the biggest risk

The party you blame for these things are set to win a majority in May which does suggest it’s a minority issue does it not?
