Who are Scottish people voting for next month?

What do you mean by that? That you think I'm on benefits?

No of course not. I have zero problem with people on benefits. Believe it or not, Scottish people are on benefits too and I’m really proud of our Scottish Child Payment.

I mean in terms of we, as a country, are the third biggest net contributors to the UK.

Not sure

SNP are fucking useless. That they keep getting into power is proof that some people will vote for a dog shit if it’s sporting a black and yellow rosette.

Tories and Reform nope

LibDems - can’t stand that weasel who is their leader

Greens - don't want my vote as I know what a woman is

I guess that leaves Labour by default, not exactly enthused by them though.

You probably need to get over the “woman” thing and realise that there are many issues that are more important than 0.5% of the population?

........the SNP did not "put male rapists in women's prisons"

Yes, they did. More than once.
Nicola Sturgeon was unable or unwilling to define what a woman is.

Edited

It wasn’t her. It was the justice secretary who had to follow UK Law. The prisoner was put in a women’s prison, in isolation, for 24 hours. Then moved to a men’s prison.

All under UK law 👍

Jenni Minto (MSP) came to my door, canvassing for the SNP.

I asked her where she stood on the trans issue and she refused to admit that human beings cannot change sex, so I told her that I wouldn't be voting SNP as a result.

She's the Minister for Women's Health, too, so it's doubly worrying that she doesn't know what a woman is.
Hmm

I’m sure she was devastated.

At least no one seems to be voting for the bonkers Scottish Greens.

She went next door to my neighbour, who asked her exactly the same thing.
🤣

At least no one seems to be voting for the bonkers Scottish Greens.

I don't think they've even fielded a candidate in my constituency.

I've just checked, and they haven't.
There are two Independent candidates though.

IndigoBluey · 12/04/2026 16:25

I’m unsure and need to make my mind up

YellingAway · 12/04/2026 16:30

I feel politically homeless. I don’t support SNP and so angry at what they have done to my country. I look at the deterioration of our once fine education system to one that is the weakest out of all of the home nations.

I despair at our healthcare system and worry about the increasing disparity of the haves and have nots - being thankful to fall into the former when going through the Cahms service and being able to afford much needed private counselling.

I see the lack of attempt to woo in business and private industry. We have a bloated public sector in comparison to the private sector and we need need more investment to encourage wealth generators. As much as it pains me to say this, Salmond saw this and had regular meetings with industry.

Labour have completely lost their way as have the Lib Dem’s- I remember their ex leader stating in one of the elections to not vote for them if you don’t agree that trans women are women, so the didn’t.

Greens demonstrated their lunacy when in a power sharing agreement with SNP and I hope that we never have them ever again near the seat of power.

So that leaves Conservatives, but whilst they seem to be talking some sense, I don’t agree with their party principles.

So let’s hope there is a decent independent as for the first time ever, I may have to spoil my ballot and that really goes against the grain.

Again, she must have been devastated. Like it or not, the SNP seem to be set for a majority win.

SGP very rarely stand in the constituency vote.

Why do you think the trans thing only impacts 0.5% of the population? Last count women made up half the population.
On prisons the snp are actually going to court to defend the policy of putting men in women’s prisons so it is clearly an active choice.

The only time that I haven’t voted was 1999. Our first vote for the SG. I still regret it. Maybe look at the wider picture and forget about trans women. They’re a minority.

Also maybe look at it all through the lens of George Osbourne’s austerity plus Margaret Thatchers decimation of everything that made the UK what it was.

Because that’s what they are. An extremely small minority.

OP posts:
ohnonotthisargumentagain · 12/04/2026 19:07

they are a minority who have a major impact on women’s rights. No way am I going to be voting for anyone who doesn’t take women’s rights seriously which means a big NO to snp greens Lib Dem’s and labour.

CurdinHenry · 12/04/2026 19:15

People who unquestioningly support Scottish independence do NOT have a good understanding of what that will involve for them (or, farage style, they're reasoning that they can head off elsewhere if things get too bad). However if reform are on the cards for Westminster I'd prefer an independent Scotland.

Anyway I'm voting libdem even though Alex cole Hamilton is weird as fuck sorry to swear.

Would you rather most people in Scotland be poor and unable to access healthcare?? Cos that's the other side of the coin.

ohnonotthisargumentagain · 12/04/2026 19:20

Most people in Scotland are poor and unable to access healthcare already due to the snp’s incompetence. I’m not prepared to give up women’s rights in exchange for another bad government who will not fix the healthcare system either.

That's the most spoilt thing I've read in a while. Most people are not poor. The only parties remaining after your list will beggar ordinary people, either through stupidity or malice.

Nonsense. Scotland has different prison policies to the rUK.

ohnonotthisargumentagain · 12/04/2026 19:26

Stupidity or malice definitely describes the parties in that list.
I don’t see how prioritising women’s rights is spoilt! I have daughters, our rights matter. We have had years of being told that if we stay quiet about our rights the rest of the economy will all be rosy but it has been proved manifestly untrue over the years. It is no longer reasonable to put women at the back of the queue

GargoylesofBeelzebub · 12/04/2026 19:26

I’ll be tactically voting to try and keep the gender nutters out.
