Will Reform win any votes at the local elections?

Will they stop the boats?

I think you might need to do some reading to understand the difference between local and national elections.

Lilimoon · 19/04/2025 13:59

Op you sound like an ignorant shit with no empathy whatsoever. I hope you are a troll but I fear not. You want two tier human rights? I guess you think some people aren't really human...

Swearing at someone agressively then calling them a troll, priceless.

I think all that is required is for you to read my posts properly.

@TalkToTheHand123

Even the Spectator has doubts about Reform's stop the boats plans

https://www.spectator.co.uk/article/is-reform-serious-about-stopping-the-boats/

The Spectator proving yet again they're just monkeys with typewriters. Asylum seekers aren't illegal immigrants.

They are if they arrive here illegally.

It's the OP's level I thought

Notonthestairs · 19/04/2025 14:14

Asylum seekers are asylum seekers - regardless of how they journey- until either their application is accepted or denied by the Home Office. If their application is rejected and they remain in the UK they will be staying on illegally.

We follow due process - it’s fundamental to the rule of law.

Notaflippinclue · 19/04/2025 14:14

The reason people will vote Reform is to give Labour and the Conservatives a good kicking - so if the trickle turns into a tsunami at the locals how will this not influence parties at the next election.

ZoggyStirdust · 19/04/2025 13:54

You’re either stupid or bigoted, I’m not sure which…

No reason why it can’t be both. They usually go together.

Notaflippinclue · 19/04/2025 14:17

It is illegal to enter the UK in a boat so yes they are illegal immigrants I’m afraid.

Lid Dems won 72 seats last year. An increase of 61 seats.

it would be a bit foolish to overlook this and solely focus on Reform.

Reignrainreign · 19/04/2025 14:19

We only have a county council and no districts.
They also voted to rise council tax to maximum amount. Their leaflet was a waste of paper and went straight in recycling bin.
Most people around me don’t even understand the difference between parish councils and county council. Complaining no election for the parish when only 8 people out the 15 seats bothered to put themselves forward.

Well I never! Illegal to enter the UK by boat.

Clearly my post upthread was a little bit too complicated for you so I shall try a simpler explanation.

Arriving on boat, seeking asylum = not illegal
Staying after asylum is turned down= illegal.

P&O are in trouble then...all those people entering the UK from their boats.

TalkToTheHand123 · 19/04/2025 14:06

There's no law saying that people have to enter a country a certain way to claim asylum.

No just dull, and as previously stated, if it isn't, it could be made to be so by change of law.

It’s influencing policy already.

I doubt you are bright enough but have a go

how would you define they type of entry to the uk that you deem illegal?

You still haven't specified which law

EasternStandard · 19/04/2025 14:35

TopPocketFind · 19/04/2025 14:29

How?

Despite claims in pp Labour aren’t rejoicing they’re trying to gain back support. Removing citizen rights for some a few weeks ago, spending a huge amount for a deportation video, talk of the Balkans for removal hubs today.

The Tories tried that with the Illegal Immigration Act.
