@Clavinova you don't mind losing your human rights?

@Lonelycrab

"You underestimate the intelligence of British voters and place them all on the same level as the average reform voter, like the OP, uninformed and fickle and to be frank- not very bright; driven by tik tok politics and the belief you can get positive change, growth and positivity from people like Farage"

You seem to be forgetting that the majority of voters voted for Brexit which was 100% driven by ill thought through sound bites from people like Farage.

Breakitdown · 24/04/2025 22:41

If you need a reminder clav, it's these. Which half do you want to get rid of?

It was about a 3rd of the voting population

Breakitdown · 24/04/2025 22:43

And the leavers won by a slim margin

Fool me once…

And it was a knife edge margin.

The whole thing is now widely known as a mistake. Voters aren’t going to be that foolish twice- esp as the guy that fooled them first time is trying it on again only this time it’s even more serious.

I asked about Badenoch, not Starmer.

Thatcher and the wider Tory party had well known & publicised links to Saville, inc getting him Knighted.

Its fact not a slur, why are you avoiding this point, whilst criticising Starmer over Saville?

I said I thought Badenoch was struggling - I can't see a problem with recalling that Starmer was almost written off in the first 18 months of his leadership of the Labour Party - implying that Badenoch might improve as well.

To be honest I don't know anything about the wider Tory Party and their links to Savile - I know there has been much criticism of the BBC. I would like to think that Margaret Thatcher was deceived by Savile - unless you are suggesting otherwise?

About stopping renewable energy resources and replacing them with equivalent taxes? I wonder who will pay those taxes 🤔

How you pay for renewable subsidies from the government is either through charges on your electricity bill or through taxes.

The problem with putting it on electricity bills is that it makes UK electricity some of the most expensive in the world and makes industry completely uncompetitive as Scunthorpe and Port Talbot are finding out.

BIossomtoes · 24/04/2025 22:49

She was supposed to be astute. Her officials weren’t deceived and she apparently refused to listen to them - oh, what a surprise.

Look it up copy and paste clav. She was warned about him.

34% and f the electorate voted for Labour at the last election

37% of the electorate voted for Brexit.

I disagree - although the implementation could have been better. It's still only four years since we left the single market.

True but that's because we have FPTP and the vote share in elections is split between more choices.

On a binary referendum, 37% was too small considering the other 63% that either didn't want it or didn't vote.

TopPocketFind · 24/04/2025 22:57

Brexit is such a success, Mr Brexit comes up with plenty of excuses how it has nothing to do with him. Brexit was supposed to save British Steel for example.

But the deal was oven ready and we would have the lowest energy prices in Europe etc.

These benefits have had 4 years to appear and I haven't seen one.

Ah yes, good old Nigel who 2 years ago didn't want to bail out British steel 😅

Nige ll fix it eh

And wasn’t it supposed to be maybe 50 years till the benefits kick in

Polling consistently says two thirds of the country now understand Brexit to be a mistake which of course it was. There were no trade deals. There was no slashing of red tape- our exporters and importers are drowning in it now.

But if you’re still looking at the magic Brexit beanstalk beans you’ve bought thinking….maybe just one day!!!!

what can anyone say

Chlorinated chicken? Are people happy with that? Will cheap meat undercut our uk farmers? I'll wait....

Breakitdown · 24/04/2025 23:10

I don't know how much TB knew about Savile (probably as much as everyone else at the time tbf) but please don't deflect. It was a mass cover up and scandal in which many many people were abused so it sucks you defend the tory party - particularly thatcher when I cannot in good conscience defend neither Blair nor thatcher. Particularly thatcher for giving him a knighthood.

How's about that for scruples? Funnily enough my scruples don't come in red or blue.

People who are happy with it can afford the higher prices for UK chicken and will never buy it for themselves. Ofcourse the chicken will find it;s way into other food but they will be mostly alright.

Vetting is still going well

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cz798wrd81jo

Reform UK is fielding local election candidates who have "posted hate, pushed far-right conspiracies and praised extremists" - despite Nigel Farage's claim to have beefed up the party's vetting process, campaign group Hope Not Hate has said.

Breakitdown · 24/04/2025 23:20

That's the sad thing. The people who can least afford quality meat will buy the unhygienic, chlorine washed shite. But hey, anything for those trump flavoured trade deals.
