Brexit wouldn't have happened without Farage. With Brexit and Reform, the UK will be less of a pushover by the EU.

Nothing will convince me you aren't a wind up merchant. Your spelling is too good for a genuine reform supporter.

Bit sterotypical. I didn't say I was a Reform supporter anyways.

Bore off. It's true. Whatever you think of Farage, he is good at using the media and was the main person promoting it (Boris does deserve some 'credit'). Your dislike of the man is clouding your judgement or you just can't accept the truth.

Don't worry, we all know Farage was the main force behind Brexit. I can't believe I've come across someone who thinks it was a success. It's quite the event.

Even Farage admitted it's not a success but he blames the implementation.

The truth is that Brexit was never going to deliver what its proponents promised.

I would deport everyone who enters the country illegally to Rwanda . Straight from the small boats to the airport. Or, naval ships in the channel turning the boats around and forbid the border force from picking them up. We need to tighten our borders
And I'd be happy to give up whatever rights are attached to membership of the ECHR. I am content with UK law.

Rwanda won't just accept another country dropping random people off. We have laws that you can't just ignore and letting people drift in the channel until they die is inhumane.

Reform want to get rid off the ECHR and the Human Rights Act. Take a look and let me know which rights you don't want.

The small boats issue is nothing to do with the ECHR. It's all about the 1951 Refugee Convention, to which the UK is a signatory. Any government withdrawing from that would instantly make the UK an international pariah and signal that it is untrustworthy in all its aspects. Which would have a massive impact on trade, tourism and ultimately the economy,

But you go ahead and build your wall.

Oh no you’re actually right he had a massive influence and is a strong media performer.

it’s the twaddle about brexit and reform making the uk stronger that’s so ridiculous it gives the game away.

Some of the Afghans on the boats are in mortal danger because they were helped the troops and were left behind during the evacuation. Makes ywr proud dunnit?

We all had plenty of rights before the ECHR. Our own Parliament could enact any new laws and protections that we decide we need. We don't need to be bound by someone else's laws and courts.

We helped write the ECHR after WW2, why wouldn't we be a signatory? The ECHR enshrines our rights and means we can challenge the government.

Which rights don't you want?

Just the ones which mention boats.

They were promised safely in UK. It was UK troops they helped. Why should they stay or be accepted anywhere else?

How on earth did Australia manage to do it without becoming a pariah?

There is no obligation on refugees to seek asylum in the first safe country. That is a myth. Neighbouring countries take 70%+ of all refugees. You're basically saying that if you're living in a nice country far away from any conflict, you shouldn't have to take any refugees, because they could have stopped travelling earlier.
