Scary stuff.

I don't know what to say.

Trump has cancelled the press conference and had Z escorted out of the WH. He just released a statement that Z is not allowed back until he calls for a ceasefire.

Ukraine has every right to defend itself, but it doesn't have a right to American money and materiel. Z forgot that, went in with guns blazing and got FAFO'd. Should have come with a conciliatory gesture like Starmer. That's how you handle Trump.

Ukraine is in deep shit now.

SpottedDonkey · 28/02/2025 18:51

If Zelenskyy’s intention was to blow up this deal, he has certainly succeeded. Standing up to bullies is a good and a brave thing to do, but when your country’s security and independence is financially & militarily dependent on the bully’s largesse, it may not be a wise thing to do.

Pomped · 28/02/2025 18:51

It’s so upsetting.

Awful, and unfortunately there seems to be a lot of Americans lapping it up, who have no knowledge of world history. Lots of people who are happy to go along with the idea Zelensky started this.

Europe needs to be stronger on this. We can’t rely on America.

Exactly. They seem completely oblivious to the promises the USA made to Ukraine to get them to give up their nuclear weapons.

You can't blame Zelensky here! He kept his cool considering what he was up against. Trump was going to throw him to the wolves regardless, atleast he went out with his dignity.

I assume Zelensky didnt lick Trumps arse enough..It was obviously a set up from the start,a performance for Putin.

That is absolutely disgraceful. Thank you

Donttellempike · 28/02/2025 18:52

ThankyouBakedP0tato · 28/02/2025 18:32

Hmmm I'm not so sure who is actually the bully, dictator, narcissist here.

Zelensky has forced even younger men to fight in this war by passing a law last year. If you are male and Ukrainian you have no choice to put your life on the line.

How is that fair? How was that a democratic decision?

As a mother of boys I would be absolutely furious to have this forced upon my sons.

He expects every man to die for his country and for other countries to join in with putting their citizens lives down for him too.

I think he's asking for too much now. He wants everyone to fight this war forever. I wonder of Ukraine would send weapons, money and their men to defend America or the UK?

Edited

Just heard some of it on the radio 2 news. Trump is such a bully. Feel very sorry for Zelenskyy and Ukraine.

Are you for real?

The US has sunk $119.7 billion (£94.3.billion) into Ukraine. As Ukraine isn't a NATO Member the US is not obliged to help.

Zelensky needs to modify his attitude or Trump may well pull the plug on him.

Uricon2 · 28/02/2025 18:53

I truthfully wished tonight that I could get a time machine back to Tricky Dicky Nixon, Leonid Brezhnev and the Cold War, because I lived through it and it was nothing-nothing-like as dangerous as the situation we're in now.

Poor Zelenskyy with that pair of thick bullies, he acquitted himself far better than I could.

For anyone who hasn't seen this yet.

Vaxtable · 28/02/2025 18:53

Trump and Vance have been bully boys all through their careers. Not sure why people are surprised how this is going bearing in mind Trump has always been Putins friend.

Peachbubble · 28/02/2025 18:53

Wow, just wow. Vance wanting to impress Trump and be told what a good boy he is. Trump wanting to impress Putin and be told what a good boy he is. Just wow.

Trouble is, Trump's supporters will not see what an repulsive bully he is, just that he's been disrespected in his home and country.

And Trump's Staff will just say how incredibly well he did to put Zelensky in his place (see the Emperor's New Clothes).

Respect to Zelensky, for not telling the orange manbaby to do one.

TheDublin3 · 28/02/2025 18:53

Feel so sorry for Ukrainians watching this - have several Ukrainian friends and colleagues and have been messaging with them watching this - shocked at his attempt to humiliate Ukrainians - Zelensky should have stood up and kicked the trashy cunt square in the face

Zelenskys been calling for a ceasefire for three years. Russia is the only country that can deliver that by stopping their invasion.

No space for you here.

I hope Trump gets the appropriate welcome from the locals in Balmoral. Cause there’s nothing else us working chumps can do.

yeah let have Ukraine fall under Russian control cause Putin will definitely stop there, no bigger prize for him once he knows that world won’t stand up to him. I wonder if there’s a book or something that Trump could read that might explain it.

imtheholidayarmadillo · 28/02/2025 18:39

Actually, that's a point... I haven't been liking the way Starmer's been toadying up to the US (although I do understand the strategy behind it), but blimey yes, imagine if we still had Bozo at the helm.

Johnson would never come out of his fridge.

Talisin · 28/02/2025 18:55

Crikeyalmighty · 28/02/2025 18:44

@sidebirds I think we are all very quickly realising who is a corrupt puppet here- and it ain't Zelensky -

Putin has something big on Trump- I would bet good money on it

Thing is, I don’t believe Trump is blackmailable because he simply does not accept that he ever does anything wrong and will just flat out deny that something has actually happened. And his followers will choose to believe him. Putin, I’m sure, has many things on him and they’re all completely pointless as a lever because Trump won’t care.

WinterBones · 28/02/2025 18:55

im absolutely disgusted by the whole thing. Trump was SO disrespectful, that's a fellow President, not a child to berate.. and it was bad enough President to President, but who the fuck did Vance think he was talking to? WTAF?

Trump is an abusive bully, and it was REALLY stressful and uncomfortable to watch and listen to, i'm amazed Zelensky didn't just get up and walk off, i don't know how he held his compusure.

Trump just really showed the world his cards, but i'm not sure anyone will really listen and realise what that man is.

@Purplelodestone

so you agree with Trump that the war is Ukraines fault? That Zelenskyy is a dictator? That Zelenskyy nearly started WW3?

you agree that it’s acceptable the US and Russia meet to discuss a way forward for Ukraine without Ukraine even at the table!

That all the US want out of this is the mineral rights and sod Ukraine and it’s people

You need to have a long hard think

Cattreesea · 28/02/2025 18:56

Two cowardly bullies attacking a real hero.

Abysmal.

MrTiddlesTheCat · 28/02/2025 18:56

I'm really confused. I saw earlier that Zelensky had signed a minerals deal. Was that wrong? Or are they talking about a different deal that he's refusing to sign?

Msmoonpie · 28/02/2025 18:56

What about Ukraine now though ?

They are in trouble without American backing regardless of how much of a cunt Trump is.

Flossi24 · 28/02/2025 18:56

Absolutely sickening. Is there a petition yet to call for UK to cancel the invite to Trump for a state visit. Is that possible. There needs to be a gesture to show disapproval. (I know there probably won't be).
What a dangerous and awful man.
