  1. JFK supported by the mob who paid for him to come into power.
  2. JFK Cuban missile crisis.
  3. Clinton M impeachment not to mention starting strikes on irak to detract from it.
  4. Clinton F did not win the seats, Bernie did, the old guard of the party let down the voters,
  5. Biden senile couldn’t string a coherent sentence throughout term of office.

If this is real it’s hilarious. Most of this random list of shit happened before I was even alive. JFK was assassinated before my mother was born. 🤣🤣

Who is Flint?

What.
It's a shit town in N Wales. Obama didn't even mention it on many of his visits to the UK. Bet he doesn't even know it's got a castle.

Stealer · 14/02/2025 21:25

I just wish Trump and his right wing cronies would FOAD. No need for any discussion.

Animatic · 14/02/2025 21:28

Essentially the facts you listed in your OP combined with "hollier than thou" attitude from democrats is what brought Trump to power. And yes, his rhetoric (incl Musk, Tiel, Vance et al) is pretty scary to me.

MumCanIHaveASnackPlease · 14/02/2025 21:29

People may well be up in arms about Trump but since he’s bringing plastic straws back to McDonalds the general population will soon forgive him. That’s the level of intelligence and concern we’re operating in.

Oh, it's you.

Almost wet myself when I saw this!! Excellent and most likely true!! 😂

Hopefully he'll bring toys back into cereal boxes next and then he will qualify for a sainthood

Why does it matter so much to Trump supporters that Mumsnet of all places should agree that he is not that bad.
Trump needs mothers mostly from the UK to support him to make him feel better? Why on earth would he care? Why do his supporters care?

I mean would anyone think there was any point going on a mostly US website to get them to say that the Labour/Tory/Random UK person wasn't making a hash of it?
Surely there would be better places to try and drum up support.

Yank here. I’m mystified by it too. No one here obsesses about British politics.

Its kind of cute though that some people still think it's Trump that in charge not Musk

I can't help feeling that its actually Putin in charge.

Oh absolutely! In fact I just made that point on another thread!
I want to know what dirt Putin /Musk have on Trump /the republicans that means they can wield this power unchallenged

JustmeandtheChickens · 14/02/2025 21:36

Seriously - disengage.

Have you tried starting a thread with well-reasoned arguments for the position you're taking?

I’m thinking we might be waiting four years. If there’s anything left after four years.

In Russia, Iraq ends in a k

It does in many languages but op's post is so nonsensical that it doesn't matter.

It's a bit like saying why are you so up in arms about drinking bleach to treat a viral infection when vaccinations don't offer 100% protection, masks fog up your glasses, social distancing is boring and washing your hands uses up soap.

I'm still waiting to be therapized.

You’d be needing it if you were living in America. The only (fucking batshit) Kennedy that is unfortunately relevant right now isn’t a fan of antidepressants.

HaveYouTrumped · 14/02/2025 21:43

@Stealer interesting position there.

Lou205 · 14/02/2025 21:44

I think this is a case of Whatabotery.

Do you think that could be a new addition in next years dictionary?

Fimofriend · 14/02/2025 21:45

So other bad people exist and have existed in the past and therefore it is okay that the present president of the USA is a fascist, with low intelligence, low education, no common sense, no morals, immense greed, and the manners of a drunken goat with mental problems?

Londonrach1 · 14/02/2025 21:46

I don't know anyone who cares in the UK. Do you op ....

Its kind of cute though that some people still think it's Trump that in charge not Musk

To be honest I don't think Musk is in charge. I think they both believe they're in charge.

Trump is a relatively new phenomenon in politics that's developed from online discourse. He's a reactionary shit-poster of a politician. He's dominated by his self-interest, like many politicians, but he's taken that to a level that (thankfully) is rarely seen in the West. What he specialises in is outrage-driven politics. He keeps his base scared and angry because that way it makes it easier to portray himself as the saviour from what he's told them to be scared of / angry about.

Musk is a very different animal. Sure, he's ruthlessly self-interested, but he's got more principles than Trump. Musk is a drug-addled tinfoil-hatted conspiracy theorist and truly believes those conspiracies, whereas Trump just pays lip-service to them to keep his base scared and angry. Musk is honestly the scarier of the two, not just because Trump is likely to die of a spectacular heart-attack any day now. Musk is a true believer in his own bullshit and true believers have no bounds.

MargaretThursday · 14/02/2025 21:54

In the interests of being fair, I believe that Trump has done one amazing thing.

He has done amazing things for European unity.

He has united European opinion in a way they have never been united before.
None of us can believe the US was stupid enough to elect him a first time, let alone a second.

Admit it. Europe has never been of one opinion on anything else before.

HaveYouTrumped · 14/02/2025 21:55

@BIWI yes I have, have you?
It's not going to go well if the usual suspects flock in and start clucking, no

RafaistheKingofClay · 14/02/2025 21:55

BIWI · 14/02/2025 21:17

Grin Have you been here for long? There are no rules about whether or not a thread is serious.

But it was patently clear, from the get go, that this thread wasn't going to go well for the OP.

That said - as I said in my post - if you want to post a pro-Trump thread there is absolutely nothing to stop you. And as I said I agree with you that his presidency and its implications is something that we need to talk about.

So start a serious thread, with a considered OP, and you are much more likely to get considered responses. Although no-one can guarantee that on MN!

Edited

This is in AIBU so considered posts are likely to be few and far between regardless of the topic.

It’s fight club.

LillyPJ · 14/02/2025 21:55

Whataboutery at its finest. You can cherry pick all you want. Trump is an ignorant, vile, greedy misogynist. That's all you need to know.

HaveYouTrumped · 14/02/2025 21:56

@MargaretThursday perhaps are they now agreed they need to put their own hands in their own pockets to defend themselves??

HaveYouTrumped · 14/02/2025 21:57

@BIWI as I said....

Unless someone says I hate the orange bastard cunt fuck.

There is no discussion because we can't calmly discuss anything.

Do you see?
