My God I hated Thatcjer and all she stood for .. but at least I think she was honourable in her beliefs even if they were not mine .. but THIS LOT .. from BOJO onwards what a bunch of grifters ..

And before anyone says 'they are all the same ' .. I really don't think so ... At least in the 'lining their own pockets ' agenda .. AIBU to think this ?

It’s an utterly nonsense plan

Of course. Far better to stick with Rishi The-plan-is-working Sunak.

How high will numbers go before you think oh hang on…

I say nonsense but thinking you can deal with Iraqi backed trafficking networks has to be all kinds of idiocy

Why do you think it’s a good approach?

Zonder · 11/05/2024 12:17

I think we don't know all the plan. Labour would be idiots to announce everything yet, as we have already discussed - the government nick any half decent sounding ideas and screw them up. So once the manifestos are published we will know more.

Haha I await the rest of the cunning take out Iraqi networks plan

Labour would be idiots

Well yes

Seeing how you selectively quote and take things out of context doesn't give me any confidence in anything you say. I think this thread may be dead now.

That’s ok Labour will sort the trafficking. Believe

They know what to do they just can’t say yet despite trumpeting it all yesterday

Crikeyalmighty · 11/05/2024 16:28

@EasternStandard it's all very well poo pooing Labour and any plans- you tell us what amazing plans the Tory's have announced in lots of areas of life recently, including this ? Because I'm not seeing any and I think it unlikely just sending some to Rwanda- with others back here in return is really going to vastly change things either.

EasternStandard · 11/05/2024 16:39

If that flow to Ireland increases from 6k upwards, and I’d say that’s not a hard task given traffickers will move in to exploit the trade and people will reach out to others to do the same then Rwanda isn’t really the outcome atm, Ireland is.

But yes in the global context of rising numbers and likely state backed and highly financed networks Starmer’s approach is concerning.

If the answer is the big Dover announcement wasn’t it and there’s more that will actually not make us highly attractive as other countries get more hardline, well I can’t see why trumpet what they have or what that would be.

But if that’s what people are relying on, we’ll see.

If Sunak's plan is to finish the Tory party off with death by a thousand cuts and give a boost to human trafficking on British soil, then it is definitely working.

Starner is your guy for human trafficking. Unless you think he can charge some Iraqii traffickers? How do you see it actually happening?

Good luck

Ireland isn’t too happy atm with their extra social and political strain from the increased flow btw

EasternStandard · 11/05/2024 17:26

I do wonder though if Rwanda is ‘too small in numbers to work’ and thousands voluntarily go to NI to Ireland at their own cost rather than U.K. tax payer why is that not better generally?

Some deportation flyers and people leave instead off their own steam

If higher numbers leaving the U.K. are supposedly the aim

TooBigForMyBoots · 11/05/2024 19:44

Typical fucking Tories: People in NI don't vote for us so we're happy for that region to become a human trafficking corridor.

I often say that a Tory vote is an Anti-woman vote. It's also an anti-UK vote!Angry

TooBigForMyBoots · 11/05/2024 20:21

NI are not unhappy...

🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️
Yeah, we're real chuffed at being turned into a smuggling and human trafficking corridor. It's not like we needed that hard fought for, international treaty that brought us peace. Fuck that! Let's make our terrorist organisations richer instead.

Another Brexit bonus.
More proof that the Tories don't give a shit about the British public. or the United Kingdom.Angry

EasternStandard · 11/05/2024 20:28

Don’t worry they’ll be crossing back soon.

And it’ll be all roses when Keir takes out global trafficking networks in a way no one else can 🫣

Traffickers won’t be laughing at all as numbers go up, and migrants what… get questioned on arrival. That’ll do it.

I wonder how high numbers will go before we see similar social and political strain here

Particularly as we go against harsher restrictions elsewhere

TooBigForMyBoots · 11/05/2024 20:48

🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

You know what? That's the level of cop on that I expect from Tory voters right now. What's the saying about only the rich and the who(?) vote for them?

EasternStandard · 11/05/2024 20:50

Oh my lord

I have no idea how you spiral as you do. But whatever

We’ll see how Keir’s great approach works out

Zonder · 11/05/2024 21:27

You're really quite obsessed with Keir aren't you? Is it a little bit of a crush? And the more you deny it the more we will know 😉

EasternStandard · 11/05/2024 21:29

Ha yes you’ve sussed it 😂

Nothing to do with an insane trafficking policy just launched.

Is that really all you have in its favour?

Well we are fucked then.

How can saying someone has a ‘crush’ be adult type response?

Unbelievable

Encouraging trafficking is going to be a big deal

TooBigForMyBoots · 11/05/2024 22:22

Encouraging trafficking is going to be a big deal

But it's OK if it's the Tories doing it in NI? FFS.🙄

Zonder · 11/05/2024 22:37

Interesting which types of posters have been getting deleted on this thread. Glad I missed whatever was just said.

EasternStandard · 11/05/2024 22:42

I have said on other posts I can understand why Ireland are annoyed, if it were the other way round we’d be asking our gov to fix it I’m sure

They are seeing much higher numbers and it’s placing strain in many ways, which we won’t be immune from should our numbers go up a lot

I do think people need to decide what numbers they want here to the U.K. though.

You can get it very low (Albania policy or Aus style) or very high (trying to take out traffickers) so really it’s a choice on where to sit

It was talking about posts going on about a crush. Hardly evaporating but there you go, someone reported

TooBigForMyBoots · 12/05/2024 00:30

I thought Austria should've done better.
