I'm not sure he's a promoter of peace ...more about protecting his business interests in Russia and the middle east...have a look at his property portfolio...you'll soon see where his money is.

user1484056932 · 21/12/2023 12:25

Trump would actually secure the southern border, which dementia joe has let millions of illegals cross the border intentionally. Trump never started any wars, unlike Biden. Biden has done countless dodgy dealings with China & Ukraine. His son Hunter has slept with underage girls, not too mention his heavy drug use. The us would actually be respected on the world stage again, not the laughing stock they are currently with senile Biden. But yeah Trump is so bad, lol.

SnapdragonToadflax · 21/12/2023 12:36

I'm hoping he'll be in jail rather than able to stand for office again.

Biden should also not be running, but only because he's too old. Trump in a dangerous and alarmingly thick criminal.

beguilingeyes · 21/12/2023 15:59

Which wars has Biden started, exactly...?

Other than the upholding of the US presidential system, and the right of the population to vote freely.

What is beyond me is why the US has only utterly shite candidates

>>right of the population to vote freely...

>>utterly shite candidates....

Cause and effect, the 'American dream' is a narcissistic circle of self-interest.

baileybrosbuildingandloan · 27/12/2023 12:22

There Are No Pros.

If you think that there possibly could be, you have been radicalised and need help.

Tulipsroses · 12/12/2023 01:01

I know I will receive lots of hate messages but let me try anyway:
I think if he stayed for the second term his bold and unorthodox stance in foreign policy might have:
Pushed for a peace in Middle East
Prevented a disaster in Afghanistan
Prevented the war in Ukraine
Made a final peace in Korean peninsula

This is my view. You are welcome to challenge it.

I was right. You have been radicalised.

dubsie · 27/12/2023 16:03

I don't want Trump nor do I want another war mongers like Biden.

dubsie · 28/12/2023 08:55

I don't think you can label Trump a war monger, a liar yes, a crook yes, dangerous yes....but a war monger no.

The problem is he's a populist which means he will always pursue populist policy regardless of the harm it may or may not do. That may well include conflict if he can cling to power even if he doesn't himself believe in it. That man will do anything for money and power.

Biden is a war monger, just look at the wars we have now..all linked to the yanks. Who knows maybe Biden isnt even in control. But my prediction is a major military defeat for the yanks in the next 5 years....I think it's unfolding now, middle east... Russia....if war breaks out with China then America will be removed from the world stage in a spectacular fashion....they can't keep the level of funding going without serious increase in investment ....

TimeToGetSomeFlowers · 28/12/2023 08:58

The us would actually be respected on the world stage again

I can take the rest of your post as being, genuinely, the way you see things - but this is just false.

Trump hurts the USA on the World Stage.

Not sure Biden does much better tbh but Trump is definately an own goal.

Tukmgru · 28/12/2023 09:02

Weird that three posters have labelled Biden as a ‘war monger’, when the word is ‘warmonger’, and it’s a pretty niche viewpoint that largely (and apparently without irony) is peddled by the extremes of the Republican Party and a few agents of the Kremlin. Must try harder.

мы сейчас нацелены на мумснет, товарищи?

TimeToGetSomeFlowers · 28/12/2023 09:07

TBF I think of Biden as a bit of a warmonger and I am definately not Russian or Republican. I just think his politics is the politics of several decades ago when a 'show of strength' was the USA's tactic of choice. That said, I'm willing to concede his political knowledge is far better than my own, so what do I know?

For sure, I'd rather he was in the seat than Trump but that is a very low bar: I'd also rather my dog be President than Trump Grin

Actually restricting people ability to vote is one of Trumps policies.
Having fewer polling stations in areas that where people would vote for his opponent so voters have to queue all day and miss work, get their children minded etc
Not allowing early voting or postal voting.
Encouraging intimidation at polling stations.

drivinmecrazy · 28/12/2023 09:49

TBF (not my opinion!) but I can see the attraction of Trumpian politics.
He's all 'America first' Global issues second.
For so many years America has played the role of all powerful. It's a role they cannot now fund or justify.

I think America is in the midst of an identity crisis which is creating the dividing lines.

Much like how we in UK have had to reconcile that we're not the sovereign leaders of empire that's defined us for so long.

I foresee massive unrest in America while they struggle with their new place in the world, which I think will be unsettling for all of us, regardless of who is steering the ship

RickyT · 28/12/2023 11:23

Me too, maybe Uncle Sam could slap a wig on, call itself Auntie Mary McDonalds do the catering and leave the important stuff to someone else.

Sit down America, you don’t look well love Flowers

RickyT · 28/12/2023 12:19

Course not, but this thread is about America isn’t it?

Happy to slag off the UK political scene too if you fancy starting a thread on it Flowers

dubsie · 28/12/2023 13:38

America was kicked out of Syria, kicked out of Iraq, kicked out of Afghanistan and it still thinks it has the authority to attack other countries in the name of terrorism. Is it any wonder why we have such problems now....I'm afraid it all points to the yanks.

The yanks are running on debt and it simply can't keep on funding wars and expect the American people and it's allies to fund it.....not without destroying our way of life.

Pros.......................................................🌱..........

Cons Unqualified, Dishonest, Lying, Incompetent,Self Serving, Embarrassing, Hot Mess.

If Trump could have achieved ANY of what you suggest OP it would have have been a true miracle. He doesn't even talk in sentences.

Haha I think you're mistaking Trump with Biden as all the cons all describe Biden & as for completing sentences, Biden can't do that either!

NCGrandParent · 28/12/2023 14:09

bold and unorthodox stance in foreign policy -

I don't believe Trump has any specific foreign policy doctrine but certainly erred more on the side of non-intervention/ isolationism. He seems like a radical free marketeer So any alliances were ones that benefitted him/his interests.

So as others have said - likely would pull away from any co-operation that costs US tax dollars and would limit any direct us military support.

If by "peace" you mean an absence of active conflict, then possibly. But only through the annihilation of the Ukrainian and Palestinian people.

No outside influence is ending hostility in Korea.

QuestionsQuestionsAgain · 28/12/2023 14:16

Trump was a a massive knob, and a misogynist but when he was president he got along with people and they refrained from starting wars.

If he were to become President again, I do think he would turn down the heat on some of the issues we have today that teeter us on the brink of WW3.

He’s a businessman, and not a politician. People despise him because of his personality, but the truth is Biden, Obama were incompetent and unable to deal with other world leaders like Trump is.

Wtf???

He's a failure who inherited $400 million and blew it. Seven bankruptcies, a trail of more than 3,000 lawsuits, untold unpaid vendors, banned from operating non-profits as he stole from them, convicted rapist and charged so far with 91 felonies. Plus about to be banned from doing business in the entire state of New York.

And that is just scratching the surface, and without mentioning stolen documents/national security secrets, breaking the emoluments rules and his fascist ideology.

Dear @user1484056932 No name person, anyone who keeps up with current events has seen what a complete joke Trump is.

And joke is a polite way of say "criminal".
