Utterly debased herself with her unabashed, brown-nosed sycophancy, only to be cast offf like trash when it comes to rewards for the boys.
Couldn't have happened to a nicer woman.

Hi all, unfortunately we have some concerns here so we're taking this down while we look behind the scenes.

Alexandra2001 · 09/06/2023 18:18

A woman scorned.. vile to boot and yet another one who used her power and influence to get Brexit and is now running off into the sunset.

Why has she gone with immediate effect though?

Why has she gone with immediate effect though?

To damage the Tory party with a by election they will doubtless lose.

Because she didn't get a Peerage.

There was some barrier to her getting the honour, can't remember now, which presumably actually is a thing, so now she is being spiteful.

I do hope the Lib Dems win it.

There’s been talk for some time that she’s standing aside to allow Johnson to take her seat as he’s at risk of losing his.

He can't take hers now though, that was if she went at the next election.

It's my constituency*. Sadly, they won't.

  • not mine, as in I'm Nadine!

The state of that honours list though? Anyone with any credibility would decline.

Report
DreamItDoIt · 09/06/2023 19:38

They evidently delayed giving her the 'award' because once she's given it a by election will be triggered. She's maybe a bit annoyed about this so has just said 'I'm Orr's'.

Good riddance, can't stand the woman.

@wildfirewonder can he not now just stand down from Uxbridge and stand in her constituency? I know it’s a ridiculous scenario but I would put nothing past the vile man.

No one mentions constituency local party committees, surely THEY select who next candidate will be in their area. Do they really want controversial Boris who spends most his time in US doing lucrative after dinner speeches, and constantly draws controversy? Constituencies want "good constituency MPs" who hold regular surgeries, listen to constituents, represent all people in that area well. Why would any local party committee choose Boris unless the calibre of candidates they are getting is poor, or the candidate has another quality that makes them very suitable? BJ did have cross-party appeal, was quite urban-interests-associated, hence he was attractive in a semi-marginal London constituency like Uxbridge which could vote either way. But for a constituency that should be safe Tory, they just want a nice reliable candidate, they don't need someone with BJ's supposed cross-party appeal. If it's a rural area, they want someone who has tangible links to rural concerns, not an urbanite.

Or maybe I'm wrong. Certainly the soap opera is entertaining. Everyone says BJ wants to be in opposition & win from opposition again, and will be happy to earn well paying off his debts for next 3 years, anyway.

I don’t understand how these incompetents worm their ways into positions of power. 66 million people and these are really the best we can muster?
