I cant remember a chancellor ever resigning so this is bad news for Boris. It is rats leaving a sinking ship.

The thing is, he has no ideological supporters because he has no fixed beliefs beyond that he deserves to be PM.

So his only appeal as Party leader is that he will win the election.

I want him to carry on. The longer he stays, the more unelectable the Tories are. However, my personal prediction is that he will call a snap election - the Fixed Term Parliaments Act has been repealed I believe - and those fuckers will win again.

I think he threatens a snap election to keep control of Tory MPs.

I fear the rest of them will back him and he will carry on business as usual. The man has made a pact with the devil and seems untouchable.
