Off you fuck Boris... we're all sick of you 🙄

limitededitionbarbie · 05/07/2022 19:32

Boris probably thinks this will all blow over in a week or two and he will be back to normal as per usual by the end of the month.

He's probably right.

I cant remember a chancellor ever resigning so this is bad news for Boris. It is rats leaving a sinking ship.

Like that tory backbencher said months ago "for God's sake just go".

He's probably right.

The thing is, he has no ideological supporters because he has no fixed beliefs beyond that he deserves to be PM.

So his only appeal as Party leader is that he will win the election.

Anything that questions that breaks up his coalition of support

LimonataRocks · 05/07/2022 19:40

Tory vice chair Bim Afolami also resigned now...

MrsMigginsCat · 05/07/2022 19:40

I want him to carry on. The longer he stays, the more unelectable the Tories are. However, my personal prediction is that he will call a snap election - the Fixed Term Parliaments Act has been repealed I believe - and those fuckers will win again.

Runnerbeansflower · 05/07/2022 19:42

I think he threatens a snap election to keep control of Tory MPs.

flapjackfairy · 05/07/2022 19:45

I fear the rest of them will back him and he will carry on business as usual. The man has made a pact with the devil and seems untouchable.
Really hope I am wrong !

Booklover3 · 05/07/2022 19:45

As far as I'm concerned they are both complicit in this shit show and should be nowhere near Parliament. The lot of them should be sacked.

Ori1 · 05/07/2022 19:47

Am I missing something here…… it’s a game to perpetuate the Tory party. Both these Snr officials are Bojo loyalists, so it’s clearly not the cause for celebration that people seem to think it is.

They won't believe him, he'd lose his own seat if he tried that now.

notanotheroneagain · 05/07/2022 19:48

Matty is looking, waiting for the phone to ring as we speak. He'll jump at the opportunity of a mother of a comeback.

@user1471538283 Sajid Javid resigned as Chancellor in February 2020.

I do agree that to lose both him and Sunak now means he is likely to go.

If he goes I wonder who Javid and Sunak have agreed will go for PM and have the other as chancellor?

lovescats3 · 05/07/2022 19:50

Music to my ears

The whole cabal need to go

PlanetNormal · 05/07/2022 19:53

atomicnotsoblonde · 05/07/2022 18:25

Finally, this has to be the final countdown. He HAS to go - and go now.

Nope.

He can refuse to resign, stay put in Number 10 and defy his party’s MPs to force him from office. And that is exactly what I expect him to do.

Nigel Lawson resigned. Margaret Thatcher survived another year...

Javid did. He loves resigning.

notanotheroneagain · 05/07/2022 19:58

PeekAtYou · 05/07/2022 18:55

Correction.
Just watched her on video running into number 10. He's going to make her Chancellor isn't he?

Well, Bojo has the brass neck.
So it's either her, the next Mrs BJ or Carrie.

takeitandleaveit · 05/07/2022 19:59

Well well well.

Bet that spoiled Boris' afternoon tea and biscuits.

usernamenotaccepted · 05/07/2022 20:01

Others are going as well? Junior members apparently.

ApplesandBunions · 05/07/2022 20:10

Jonathan Gullis too.

pastabest · 05/07/2022 20:15

Bollindger · 05/07/2022 19:13

I like Boris, but I really do think he should resign, and say it is on the grounds of ill health, as he was down with something last month as well.
This would allow who ever takes over 2 years of settling in, I want Liz Truss.
If he was offered a place in the Lords I think he might go. and then he would still be around but out of harms way.

Cowardice isn't an illness.
