I actually thought they would win, and there was nothing anyone could do. Now I think they will lose.

Well only another 8 days to wait. Knowing my luck labour will be annihilated and that bloody pips form will turn up and then I really won't have much to live forSad

Muddlingalongalone · 31/05/2017 22:21

I fear the usual thing of Tory voters not admitting to voting Tory and pensioners not being large social media users will be the case again next week😥
I hope you're right though!

StrapOnSallly · 31/05/2017 22:22

My head is a mess and I don't know who to vote for. The Tories are squeezing this country dry, but I think Labour will bankrupt the UK instead. I agree with the theory of Labour's welfare proposals, but if I vote for Labour then I will be worse off. But I can't vote Tory. If I vote LibDem then that could keep the Tories in power. And I hate the thought of Brexit which is going to shaft this country anyway.

Jupitar · 31/05/2017 22:22

Amber, you are the weakest link. Goodbye. 😂

I think the tories will lose
Petronius16 · 31/05/2017 22:24

Oh please, yes. Nothing would please me more. The personal attacks on Corbyn should disgust anyone with even half decency about them. Even Thatcher said attacking the person showed you lost the argument.

Sadly, as someone who predicted the last election and the referendum, I think the Tories will win. Boundary changes will ensure they will stay in power for a long time.

The best I can hope for is a small majority but I'm not confident of that.

fakenamefornow · 31/05/2017 22:25

I hope the Tories win. They made the Brexit bed they should have to lie in it. The electorate have been promised the impossible on Brexit and I want the Tories to take the blame when this clear instead of Labour. I predict another GE in 2019.

user1487175389 · 31/05/2017 22:25

Bollocks they will. I'm still smarting from their last two wins, fucking Brexit and fuck face Trump.

This is just what happens before they fuck us over yet again. It's designed to keep us buying papers, checking polls and listening/watching the news for the next week. And most of all it's designed to give all the delicate shy tories a little scare so they turn out on polling day.

theduchessstill · 31/05/2017 22:25

Whatever. The campaign has been mind bogglingly awful. There is so much evidence around about the impact of Tory policies over the last few years. To vote Tory after this debacle you have to know it benefits you personally and not give a shit about anyone else (selfish), or be stupid. Simple.

But the Tory party wouldn't be paying for a bodged Brexit.

They'll be fine. It's the rest of us that will be screwed.

Believeitornot · 31/05/2017 22:28

They won't lose. When people are in that voting booth they'll panic and think that a change, when Brexit is coming, is a bad thing.

This election is not about Brexit. It's about consolidating power for the Tories. To cover domestic policy.

At the end of the day, those negotiating the finer details of Brexit will be civil servants, not Theresa May despite what she might have you believe.

Sadik · 31/05/2017 22:29

Sadly I think the very best that can be hoped for (from a left-wing perspective, obvs!) is that they don't get an absolutely stonking majority.

FB / btl comments are all very well, but older people actually get out and vote, and they are much more likely to support the Tories.

I console myself with the thought that at the very least the Tories are probably having a few sleepless nights over the polling data Grin

megletthesecond · 31/05/2017 22:30

I think they'll still win easily tbh. (Labour voter here).

MrsPeterDoherty · 31/05/2017 22:30

I'd love Labour to win the election, but I'm torn - Brexit will prove a clusterfuck, and I want the Tories to have to take the blame for that. They'll wiggle out of having to accept it's all their fault if Labour win, it'll just become a blame game.
I'm hoping for a hung parliament, I think that's a realistic chance

ChasedByBees · 31/05/2017 22:31

I don't, but god I wish the Tories would lose.

Wellysocksbox · 31/05/2017 22:32

The trouble is, there aren't any decent negotiators. The EU has been doing all the negotiating and wheeler dealing. My DH was approached to apply for a job but he would have had to have taken a 70% pay cut.

Rhayader · 31/05/2017 22:33

I think they will have a majority of around 80.

OvariesBeforeBrovaries · 31/05/2017 22:33

They'll win.

Too many people don't give a shit about the poor and the disabled, as long as they're ok everyone else can take a running jump.

dwinnol · 31/05/2017 22:33

It's the hope that is most excruciating but I fear those selfish silent voters will slide into the polling station thinking me me me and cross the Tory box.
They never think they will be old, ill or out of work.

gillybeanz · 31/05/2017 22:33

We can just vote and hope it's enough.

sexymuthafunker · 31/05/2017 22:35

Hmmm didn't think we'd Brexit or that Trump would be elected so not feeling that confident about the Tories losing....
But let's fucking hope so! 🤞

HainaultViaNewburyPark · 31/05/2017 22:35

I don't think TM will remain as Tory leader for very long whichever way the result goes. (I gather Boris is favourite to take over).

I think the Tories will still win, but not the landslide victory they were hoping for. Corbyn has had a much better campaign than May - I'd really like to see that translate into seats in parliament.

Please, please let my smarmy, pro-Brexit Tory MP lose his marginal seat.

Rudi44 · 31/05/2017 22:36

Fingers crossed. I actually find it hard to articulate how much I loathe the Tories and take heart that most people I know can see them for what they are. It's not like you even need to see through the lies, they have been perfectly honest about the 5 years of hell they are about to unleash on us

muckypup73 · 31/05/2017 22:36

I am cynical, but does anyone think Theresa May actually wants to give it away to Corbyn?

pictish · 31/05/2017 22:36

I think they'll win. It appalls me to say that but nevertheless that's where I think things will go.
Dark times.
