Would anyone who is hoping for a Labour win care to give their prediction for how the Labour infighting (understatement) would play out once they are in government? Will the 80% of MPs who wanted to get rid of Corbyn support him? Will the Guardian who have lobbied against Corbyn almost as much as against the Tories suddenly back him? What do people think would happen?
Such a valid question
I'll try and answer it from my view point, I will lay my cards out on the table I'm a Labour party member, joined because of and voted for Corbyn in the 2nd leadership contest, also voted for Labour during the Kinnock and Blair with a sad heart years, so my bias is out there so you can use it to measure my response
A lot of the justification of the 'Blairite' (I dont mean it as an insult) side of the party is that Corbyn wasnt going to translate well to the electorate this to some degree would now seem innacurate, they also felt that the 'left' policies of Corbyn would not work well in this current 'centrist' type era of politics, ignoring the fact that a lot of issues Labour voters had in the 2015 election was the fact they were an austerity light party, why have semi skimmed tory when yo can go for the full fat version.
The Guardian being a neo-liberal left leaning paper meant that they got on board with the anti Corbyn rhetoric because of the vested interests of its owner, socialism is the antithesis of neo liberalism, but they have decided to go with Labour and not the Lib-Dems for this election probably a death knoll in my mind
So I'm hoping and thats all it is is hope that if in the unlikely event that Labour get in this time the right/centrist part of the PLP realise that the upcoming generations are expecting something different than those that voted for Blair which was just a run on of the neo-liberal direction Thatcher and Reagan started in the 80's
