I actually thought they would win, and there was nothing anyone could do. Now I think they will lose.

OP posts:
mynotsoperfectlife · 31/05/2017 22:04

Cameron chose to resign rather than having to.

iamavodkadrinker · 31/05/2017 22:06

Tory majority of between 70 and 100 is pretty much certain I'm afraid.

Vango · 31/05/2017 22:06

The silent majority will Excercise their vote Thursday without splashing it all over social media.

I think it speaks volumes that said people keep their voting preferences to themselves.

puglife15 · 31/05/2017 22:07

She/ the Tories truly don't deserve to win with their shitty, integrity-free, question-dodging, pure bullshit election campaign and nasty policies and I'm doing what I can to support Labour in my constituency...

However I think it's naive to think the Tories won't win a significant majority next week.

Really, really hope I'm wrong.

muckypup73 · 31/05/2017 22:07

You know on my local newspaper I was berated for talkig about Corbyn, over the last week I cannot tell you the amount of likes I have had! talking about Corbyn.

christinarossetti · 31/05/2017 22:08

Pp have referred to the latest YouGov poll that predicts a hung parliament, not MN.

I expect May's ratings to drop like a stone following tonight's shambles.

BlueKarou · 31/05/2017 22:09

I'm trying to quell my hopes of a Labour victory. Would rather be cynical and surprised next Friday than hopeful and disappointed.

Sadly, I think the Blues will win, although less comfortably than they had expected.

SantasLittleMonkeyButler · 31/05/2017 22:09

Sorry, I'm a Labour voter & despise much of what the Conservative party currently stand for.

I'd love you to be right but, TBH, I think they'll romp home with a bigger majority than ever.

I think that, much like in 2015, the Tory voters aren't talking about their political choices as much as everyone else!

ALittleMop · 31/05/2017 22:10

Tories will win and my heart will break a little bit more.

Haughtycat · 31/05/2017 22:11

If any of you are in doubt go onto the Facebook page of Southend News Network and see the live polling feed they have on there.

Cheesecake53 · 31/05/2017 22:11

I really hope they'll lose :)

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 31/05/2017 22:11

Yes the silent selfish majority will probably swing it for them again

People that don't agree with you are selfish.

MarciaBlaine · 31/05/2017 22:12

Not sure they will lose overall but the majority seems to be at risk. We need some super opposition but not sure Labour will go for coalition.... we DO need the shake up of all this.

hollieberrie · 31/05/2017 22:13

I think they might lose too....
Social Media analysts called both Brexit and Trump.

christinarossetti · 31/05/2017 22:13

No Piglet. People who want the majority to suffer for the financial benefit of the already wealthy are selfish.

Unfortunately, most Tory voters won't realise that this is what they've signed up for until they can't access health care, their children's schools have no teachers and their elderly mother can't afford a carer.

Sostenueto · 31/05/2017 22:14

She will win but not with the huge majority she wants. It pains me to say that but I think there could be a great combined opposition that will take her to Rask and I can see her caving in on a great number of policies if all other parties can swallow their pride and work together. Gotta say was impressed with the greens tonight. Also noticed that there was a lot of assent between all but the Tories and ukip on lots of policy ideas, so I live in a little bit of hope yet. Thinking about it a lot I rather fancy the idea of a mixed party if pride can be overcome.

theduchessstill · 31/05/2017 22:14

Yes, I do believe that most people who vote Tory are either selfish or stupid. Which group are the majority I don't know.

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 31/05/2017 22:14

Not sure a random likes poll on a Facebook page of a news feed of one area indicates anything tbh.

explodingkittens · 31/05/2017 22:15

Agree that it's the hope that kills you.

I joined the Labour Party to vote for Corbyn (I was always a labour voter, just not a party member). I then felt rather disappointed when he seemed to disappear after/during Brexit and wondered who I would vote for when May announced the election (greens/libdem, but never Tories).

But I have been so impressed with him over the last couple of weeks. He has had a fantastic election campaign so far and I think he has absolutely justified his position as leader.

But I don't think we'll win. I want so much to win. I think there are millions of people in this country who desperately, desperately need the Tories to go. I don't think it will be the landslide that May so arrogantly thinks. But this country is fundamentally small-c conservative and too many people read those hideous rags the Daily Heil and the Sun. I don't think we'll win.

FreeSpiritJen · 31/05/2017 22:15

It's looking more and more every day that MAY is going to lose. And that Corbyn may win.

GwenStaceyRocks · 31/05/2017 22:17

I'm with JimmyGrimble don't jinx it!
But I am quietly maybe not so quiet tbh hopeful. One of my relatives, who is a member of the Conservatives, is feeling very worried now. He texted me at the end of last week to say he thinks May has blown it. When he's admitting that in public, you know it's bad for them.

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 31/05/2017 22:17

Name calling always goes down so well.

So of course according to you everyone who votes Labour is highly intelligent and unselfish.

I hate to break it to you but it just isn't true in any way shape or form.

This is the type of thing that leads to 'shy tories' the suprise leave vote and no to independence.

joolspoon · 31/05/2017 22:18

Please please please labour to win

Fanciedachange17 · 31/05/2017 22:19

I thought the Tories were home and dry until the Carer policy was exposed. There are a lot of angry older people out there now. It also makes a joke of those who have scrimped and saved all their lives in order to pass on an inheritance to their children. Now if they become ill or infirm that will mostly be taken away. No longer any incentive to save or work hard. I think this will hurt the Tory vote (and deservedly so). I'm not a Labour supporter and I do not agree with many of their policies but I cannot vote for the Tories and live with myself. They are deliberately hitting the weakest of society. Shame on them.

SmileEachDay · 31/05/2017 22:19

I feel as though there is just enough hope to mean I'll definitely cry the morning after.

I want May and her fucking, fucking idiot education wrecking cuntbuggery to lose SO much.

If she doesn't there will be proper snot sobbing here.
