I actually thought they would win, and there was nothing anyone could do. Now I think they will lose.

They will win.

The EU referendum has taught many of us that we live in our own bubble.

We need to understand and address the issues that mean so many people voted to leave, why so many people still vote conservative despite their passion for the NHS/state education/social care and also why JC is STILL labour leader.

Let's hope the conservatives will be utterly f@*%&ed by the effects of Brexit and a new labour leader will mean the next GE will be different.

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 01/06/2017 22:07

The prediction if the election was today.

I think the tories will lose
Headofthehive55 · 01/06/2017 22:11

I can't help it if my experiences don't match up with your thoughts. If someone ringing me up and says it's raining I don't say ooh yes it is here too if it's sunny!
I am a nurse, have been for twenty years and I find your posts rude gotra and mucky.
I am not speaking for hospitals up and down the land, as I don't know, but I am saying my experiences. Which are as valid as any.

Killdora · 01/06/2017 22:14

PigletWasPoohsFriend eight how depressingly blue.

Still, never mind, brexit will be such a fuck up red's bound to get it next time.

Best of five? Grin

Killdora · 01/06/2017 22:14

That was meant to be eugh not eight Grin

LiviaDrusillaAugusta · 01/06/2017 22:14

Lots of people have always voted Conservative - it's not like the rise of the far right, whatever then MN hysteria likes to believe. We don't have to look at the causes of it, any more than we have to look at why people vote for Labour.

Unless we want a one party system - at least nobody will be complaining about elections 😂

christinarossetti · 01/06/2017 22:16

But it's not piglet. There's another week for May to make a complete and utter fool of herself and confidence in Corbyn to continue to climb.

I'm still waiting for her to answer a direct question yet, and she's been campaigning for 6 weeks.

Headofthehive55 · 01/06/2017 22:29

killdora
I find your comment rude.
I cannot help if my experiences do not fit your rhetoric.

ArseOfInfinity · 01/06/2017 22:34

As a nurse, what do you think of the Naylor review Headofthehive55?

Peregrina · 02/06/2017 07:38

I am looking forward to seeing Headofthehive's response to the question about the Naylor review.

PollyPerky · 02/06/2017 07:38

YABU

I think they will win.

BuggerLumpsAnnoyed · 02/06/2017 07:43

Um sorry but where is this poll with a 10 point lead? The daily mail? All the ones I've found are 3/4 point (such as yougov)

BuggerLumpsAnnoyed · 02/06/2017 07:46

I'm sorry but Britain elects isn't as credible as other polling sources. It's not taken from as wide a demographic.

surferjet · 02/06/2017 07:50

They'll win - but only because of Brexit. I don't think leavers trust labour.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 02/06/2017 07:52

Corbyn is a leaver as well though. What has he said about Brexit negotiations (in a nutshell Grin, if that's possible)

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 02/06/2017 08:03

I'm sorry but Britain elects isn't as credible as other polling sources.

Which virtually all apart from YouGov (which even Paul Mason doesn't believe) are saying roughly the same.

surferjet · 02/06/2017 08:05

Yes he is a leaver ( as is TM. because she also said hardly anything in the run up to the referendum )
I just don't think the Labour Party, as a whole, are not strong & stable enough to take on the tough negotiations that Brexit will require. Plus Corbyn has said the 'no deal is better than a bad deal' is nonsense. So what deal would he sign up to?

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 02/06/2017 08:06

Um sorry but where is this poll with a 10 point lead? The daily mail? All the ones I've found are 3/4 point (such as yougov)

Panel Base 8 points
TNS 10 points
ICM 12 points

To name a few.

HTH

makeourfuture · 02/06/2017 08:11

strong & stable enough

Well they run and hide don't they? No answers....no plans.....

Are they going to run and hide from negotiations?

GetAHaircutCarl · 02/06/2017 08:12

The TNS poll is interesting regarding movement of the Labour vote.

Different to most of the others.

Though the Tories will want a narrow poll as that gets their voters out. Labour's vote tends to peak early and remain steady.

surferjet · 02/06/2017 08:14

Sorry, typed my last post out in a hurry - arghh. What I'm basically saying is; the Labour Party as a whole, are not strong & stable enough to take on the Brexit negotiations. I just don't think they are - do you? Corbyn just doesn't have enough support from his own party.

AllThePrettySeahorses · 02/06/2017 08:15

Britain Elects doesn't carry out its own polls. It just reports the results of polls from whatever organisation carries them out.

Headofthehive55 · 02/06/2017 08:16

infinity sorry for not replying sooner - had gone to bed!
I think it's good to have a strategic review of estates and whether they are fit for use be bearing in mind healthcare is changing. Whereas twenty years ago, some people were in hospital for weeks for Iv antibiotics, now they might go home instead. So instead of a ward bed, you might need a office to coordinate.
The concept of looking at space metrics seems in a similar vein to looking at best practice elsewhere - not that I get particularly excited about the space in which healthcare is delivered but i agree its good to look at!

Particularly looking at under-utilised space / land in London and selling / repurposing it for NHS workers housing seems a positive move.
This sort of organisation has always gone on, but piecemeal so the setting up of an overarching body might be helpful.

As to the incentive described, I am a little concerned about, however I do realise that unless there are incentives, often things don't happen.

Headofthehive55 · 02/06/2017 08:35

If we didn't look at the NHS estates we would still be holding onto all those fever hospitals from the 1930s instead of using brownfield land to create more space for housing. Which I think is much needed.

HoldBackTheRain · 02/06/2017 09:12

JC for PM!
