'Do you think Trump should publicly make it clear that the US will not tolerate other countries interfering in their elections, claig?'

Trump doesn't believe it. He thinks it is a conspiracy against him by the elites.

"Intelligence figures fear Trump reprisals over assessment of Russia election role"

Is expressing disquiet at FGM and foreign interference in elections "whining at trivial stuff", misss? And if it's so trivial, why are you on here?

Roussette · 17/12/2016 13:17

I don't see you Misss disappearing, we whine, you whine in response.

DeepanKrispanEven · 17/12/2016 13:18

That's not the question I asked, claig. Whether Trump believes it or not, should he make it absolutely clear to Russia that he will not tolerate it?

And frankly, if Trump is going for conspiracy theories even before he takes up power, I really am worried.

Missswatch · 17/12/2016 13:18

What do you do, misss?

Sip my Polish vodka, eat budget seafood to go with. That kinda thing :)

Lweji · 17/12/2016 13:19

How should I know? I don't work in that kind of field

Buy you know they should and could have prevented it.
So, unless they have a crystal ball or minority report style predictive capabilities, how?

I don't expect the police to be able to prevent every crime. So, it's silly to want the CIA to be able to prevent every spy or interference.

In any case,it still wouldn't be the CIA's fault, but Russia's.

Missswatch · 17/12/2016 13:20

Is expressing disquiet at FGM and foreign interference in elections "whining at trivial stuff", misss? And if it's so trivial, why are you on here?

Whine all you want, you are doing nothing about it

Kaija · 17/12/2016 13:20

Trump asked Russia to hack. Russia hacked. Multiple sources confirmed it. Trump certainly does know about it.

InformalRoman · 17/12/2016 13:21

Someone should teach Trump the difference between unprecedented and unpresidented.

DeepanKrispanEven · 17/12/2016 13:21

Just consider, for the hell of it, the possibility that there actually is hard evidence that the Russians have interfered, claig. Do you think that is acceptable? Do you think Trump should make it clear that it isn't? And are you ever so slightly worried that Trump wants to stop the CIA from doing their job in alerting the President to issues like that? In fact, how can they take steps to stop Russian interference if he's threatening to close them down even for trying?

DeepanKrispanEven · 17/12/2016 13:22

So what are you doing about it, misss?

Missswatch · 17/12/2016 13:22

Of course they should and could prevent hacks. Why didn't they? High tech gear and still couldn't do it?

claig · 17/12/2016 13:23

' Do you think it desirable for Turkey's current political situation, and its relations between government and media to be emulated here?'

All of this crap is finished. The bullying that everybody should not support Trump or Farage in case we get what Turkey gets is nonsense and it is all over, it doesn't work any more. The Guardian can hate Farage all they like and can publish articles with crap like this in it, but it doesn't work because it is the Guardian Oxbridge PPE echo chamber and Trump defeated it all

"Even if you win within the rules, the pigeon will clutter up the pieces, and finally it will shit on the chessboard, leaving you to deal with the mess. Farage, having told us to “cheer up”, and that this was “not a funeral”, did exactly that. Having dumbfounded the audience, he announced – as if fleeing a boring party – that he was off to meet Donald Trump in Washington."

Trump is in Washington. It is game over for the elites. the people won and the elite's spin won't work any more, the Guardian lost and they won't be able to stop Brexit. The PPEs lost.

Theresa May is now in charge and she is a common sense conservative who will deliver Brexit and get on the Trump Train and join the people.

InformalRoman · 17/12/2016 13:23

How would the CIA be able to alert Trump to security issues if he doesn't bother to attend security briefings?

Lweji · 17/12/2016 13:25

Misss, you're missing again that South was the one whining about FGM (as well as blaming the wrong people).

As Trump was the one whining about a rigged election.
Obama is having a proper investigation done and will act on it.

Missswatch · 17/12/2016 13:25

So what are you doing about it, misss?

Raising awareness where possible and donating to certain charity drives started by YouTube vbloggers. Getting my voice and opinion heard

Also doing a bit of YT vblogging myself, being a voice on Reddit etc

Roussette · 17/12/2016 13:26

Theresa May is now in charge and she is a common sense conservative who will deliver Brexit and get on the Trump Train and join the people

Why do you keep banging on about Blair then?

DeepanKrispanEven · 17/12/2016 13:27

How does the putative potentiality for the CIA to prevent hacks exonerate the Russians from responsibility, misss?

claig · 17/12/2016 13:27

'That's a clear statement that you think Blair runs us'

Blair is a servant. He is the face of the system, he has his strings pulled. Bush called him over at a meeting "Yo, Blair" and Blair probably rushed to get a tray of drinks for Bush. Blair is just a servant.

OP posts:
Kaija · 17/12/2016 13:27

Claig you are illustrating exactly why that article is so important with each new post you make. Your language is exactly what the writer describes.

Lweji · 17/12/2016 13:28

Of course they should and could prevent hacks. Why didn't they? High tech gear and still couldn't do it?

You think it was a teenager hacking those emails?

Still, like I said, even if the CIA was incompetent, it still remains the case that Russia shouldn't even have tried.

DeepanKrispanEven · 17/12/2016 13:28

Also doing a bit of YT vblogging myself, being a voice on Reddit etc

aka whining on the internet.

Kaija · 17/12/2016 13:28

" We were confronted – as you are being confronted – by a toxic vocabulary: “elite”, “experts”, “real people” and “alienated intellectuals”. The elite, with experts as mouthpieces of that oppressive elite, were portrayed as people detached from society, willing to suppress the needs, choices and beliefs of “real people”."

derxa · 17/12/2016 13:28

Theresa May is now in charge and she is a common sense conservative who will deliver Brexit and get on the Trump Train and join the people.
I may not be feeling very well today. claig I think I actually agree with you. Grin

DeepanKrispanEven · 17/12/2016 13:29

But you said Blair runs us, claig. So why are you contradicting yourself?
