Obama is "going on" about Russian intervention in the election because it's an incredibly serious matter. Are you really suggesting he should just shrug his shoulders and leave it, Inkanta? What sort of message does that send out? Would you like it if, say, China interfered in our elections?

And if you think we haven't heard from Obama for months, you haven't been paying attention.

Lweji · 17/12/2016 13:05

Here's one. Raise awareness for female fighters in the middle east and raise money for food rations and new gear etc.

Oh, dear. Wasn't the US supposed to stay out and not fund rebels that may eventually turn against the US?

Not intervene in other countries?

I hope you're asking South to put her money where her mouth is. She's the one thinking not enough is being done and, in fact, it's increasing.

claig · 17/12/2016 13:06

'There's going to be no palestine/israel peace deal then with Trump at the helm, given the appointment of Friedman, that isn't happening.'

There will be, but it will obviously be on Israel's terms. "It is wot it is". Trump is as tough as nails and what Trump wants, he will get. Forget Isis and all the funded Jihadis of the Saudis and Qataris trying to destroy Syria. Now we have Trump in power, not Blair or Clinton. It is a whole new ball game. There will be peace but on Israel's terms. That is just realpolitik.

If the Russians really did anything to influence the election then the CIA can't be that good at their jobs

Drain the swamp already

Roussette · 17/12/2016 13:07

I never said that Misss but bombing the crap out of the area is not necessarily the right way either. What about hospitals, schools etc... oh hang on, that's collateral damage. Even if he does this, it won't defeat ISIS, it might crush them but they will just rebuild and reorganise.

DeepanKrispanEven · 17/12/2016 13:07

'deary me claig you are obsessed by Oxbridge and Blair..'

I want to point out to lurkers and people who don't know that these are the idiots who run us

That's a clear statement that you think Blair runs us, claig. So why do you say, only a few minutes later, "Blair runs nothing and never did"? Are you simply churning out any old rubbish without thinking?

Lweji · 17/12/2016 13:07

You don't hear anything from him for months and months

Do let us how things were for you in Pluto the past few months.

It's not Obama who's looking silly.

DeepanKrispanEven · 17/12/2016 13:08

Claig, you also said that the Conservatives are Oxbridge PPEs. Was that an accurate statement?

Lweji · 17/12/2016 13:09

If the Russians really did anything to influence the election then the CIA can't be that good at their jobs

We've had that before.
Do let us know what the CIA was supposed to have done.

Missswatch · 17/12/2016 13:09

Nope. South has said herself about her volunteer work. I hope these coddled western feminists actually do something other than whining on a forum

Missswatch · 17/12/2016 13:10

We've had that before.
Do let us know what the CIA was supposed to have done.

Prevented it. It's their job

Roussette · 17/12/2016 13:10

I wonder what this thread would be like with Wine nd lots of it? An interesting thought Grin

DeepanKrispanEven · 17/12/2016 13:10

If the Russians really did anything to influence the election then the CIA can't be that good at their jobs

Avoiding the question, misss. Should Obama ignore the Russians interfering in the US election? Should Trump?

GlassCircles · 17/12/2016 13:10

'The people are laughing.'

I know literally no-one that has raised even the feeblest smile re Trump's victory.

Seriously - RL, my FB feed and my Twitter feed has thrown up nothing but negativity re Trump. Are all those hundreds - possibly thousands - of people not actual people then? Hmm Confused

Lweji · 17/12/2016 13:11

Do let us know what the CIA was supposed to have done.

In fact, don't even bother posting. I'll do it for you:

"You tell me what they were supposed to do"

yeOldeTrout · 17/12/2016 13:11

I wonder if the USA has done anything that Russians will claim was interfering with their (Russian) elections. No doubt that claim will come out soon.

Lweji · 17/12/2016 13:12

Prevented it. It's their job

How?

(See my previous post)

Missswatch · 17/12/2016 13:13

I already replied Lweji. I suppose your idea is superior as you know more than these cyber security experts

BertrandRussell · 17/12/2016 13:13

southallgirl, yesterday you said that you had a solution to FGM but you coildn't say what it was because "this is Mumsnet"

Have you reconsidered that?

You also told me that there were things I wanted to say and do that I was prevented from saying and doing because of political correctness. I am still waiting to hear what they are.

Roussette · 17/12/2016 13:13

Ditto glasscircles. Which is why I come on here. I'm incredulous at the Trumpers.

DeepanKrispanEven · 17/12/2016 13:13

Claig, you've posted four long posts since I asked you whether you think Trump should publicly make it clear that the US will not tolerate other countries interfering in their elections. It would be ever so nice if you could answer, preferably without mentioning Blair, the BBC, Oxbridge or the Guardian.

Lweji · 17/12/2016 13:14

I suppose your idea is superior as you know more than these cyber security experts

Bingo.

Missswatch · 17/12/2016 13:14

*How?

(See my previous post)*

How should I know? I don't work in that kind of field

People put their trust in the CIA to prevent such hacks

Missswatch · 17/12/2016 13:16

I doubt the CIA are on MN whining about trivial stuff however

DeepanKrispanEven · 17/12/2016 13:16

Nope. South has said herself about her volunteer work. I hope these coddled western feminists actually do something other than whining on a forum

You obviously missed where I pointed out that I worked with organisations that work with the same charity. But, y'know, I'm so coddled that occasionally they gave me time off when I could do things like posting on forums. What do you do, misss?
