It would be an honour to work for Trump, but alas I don't

Claig- you should produce a compendium of your bestest posts and send it to him.

Misswatch - Grin

claig · 13/12/2016 14:10

'you should produce a compendium of your bestest posts and send it to him'

That would be far too long for him to read Grin

He is busy sorting the elites out and we don't want to distract him from that important task.

OP posts:
OhYouBadBadKitten · 13/12/2016 14:17

Just revisiting Piers Corbyn again.

ha ha ha that cheered me up. Xmas Grin what a load of bollocks. It's possible that Scotland may seem snow and yes, it is also possible that it may also see some gales along with heavy rain. Extreme cold and snow? nope. I'll be extremely startled if the models flip that much and he gets it accidentally right. After all a stopped clock....

OhYouBadBadKitten · 13/12/2016 14:29

But in the mean time, utterly horrific reports coming in from Aleppo with civilians being summarily shot and many many children trapped. And people here think that making friends with Russia is a good thing. What they are currently doing alongside the Syrian government is beyond horror.

InformalRoman · 13/12/2016 14:46

Lots of swamp draining going on then.

Not.

Lweji · 13/12/2016 14:46

I meant to post earlier, but all this elites and msm manipulation and puppets, etc, vs russian manipulation.

In biology we tend to use the parsimony rule, in that the lost simple explanation is most probably the correct one.

Not saying that certain groups don't manipulate people's perceptions. They certainly do, and we often see conflicting points of view for the same news and events. It's highly unlikely, though, that all elites have the he same objectives and manage to manipulate all news.
It's more likely that one set of elites is using a populist language and propaganda to sell themselves as "the people".

claig · 13/12/2016 15:04

It's the Russkies, thye're behind everything. They're behind Farage, they told him what to say when he thrashed Nick Clogg in the debate. The Russkies won Brexit (not the British people), it was Pootin.

Putin is controlling the 16 year old in Macedonia with the fake news, he won it for Trump, he beat Renzi and now he is trying to beat Merkel.

It was Pootin that fooled the American people to get them to vote for Trump and it was Pooting that was driving the Trump Train and running the Stump for Trump Sisters too.

OP posts:
Lweji · 13/12/2016 15:42

In the same way I don't believe they are behind everything, but I do believe that they are trying to influence and manipulate elections in some capacity. For example, through hacking and trolling.

claig · 13/12/2016 15:50

'For example, through hacking and trolling.'

Trump says it is "a conspiracy theory" put about by purple-clad Hillary and the Democrats after one of the biggest losses in political history when all the media, the elites, Wall Street, the world bleeders etc were all on Hillary's side nd all the media teams said that Trump had no chance of winning.

OP posts:
squishysquirmy · 13/12/2016 16:38

A "conspiracy theory" that, unlike the idea that asbestos regulations were designed by the mob, has some evidence behind it.
Misswatch, when the agencies responsible for regulating an industry are too closely linked to the industries themselves, you do get inadequate oversight and (eventually) serious accidents. And Trump has spoken about slashing regulations repeatedly.

DeepanKrispanEven · 13/12/2016 16:51

the icing on the cake is that Trump says that "we will all be saying Merry Christmas again"

Why, when did you stop, claig?

Drilling is good. Jobs for the Americans and/or Russians

That'll be such a comfort as the glaciers melt.

squishysquirmy · 13/12/2016 16:54

Especially drilling in the Arctic, Deepan which has serious technical challenges and potentially catastrophic environmental impacts.

squishysquirmy · 13/12/2016 16:55

I've always said "Merry Christmas". Can't remember it ever being controversial! Xmas Smile

squishysquirmy · 13/12/2016 17:00

Ironically drilling in the arctic has been made more commercially viable as a result of shrinking sea ice.

Missswatch · 13/12/2016 17:03

The world needs oil. I doubt the world will flood over a little bit of drilling. Trump being a businessman wouldn't slash the health and safety red tape because he sees how important it is

Lweji · 13/12/2016 17:03

the icing on the cake is that Trump says that "we will all be saying Merry Christmas again"

Except that Trump himself has been using Happy Holidays. Not sure why... :)

Trump (Part 5)
Lweji · 13/12/2016 17:05

Ironically drilling in the arctic has been made more commercially viable as a result of shrinking sea ice.

Maybe that was the whole plan all along. You know, by the oil elites and petrol dependent establishment. Heat up the planet to uncover oil in ice covered areas.

I wonder if they'll think of the Antartica next.

squishysquirmy · 13/12/2016 17:16

Yes, the world does (at present) need oil. That doesn't mean we shouldn't be investigating and investing in new technologies though. Nor does it mean we shouldn't be responsible about where, and how, we drill for it.

" Trump being a businessman wouldn't slash the health and safety red tape because he sees how important it is"
Yeah he knows how important asbestos regulations are for protecting workers in the construction industry:
www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/donald-trump-and-the-art-of-asbestos_us_581b2e4ee4b0570d6d6f0c1d

He's promised to cut 70% of regulations:
www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2016/10/07/donald-trump-says-70-percent-of-federal-regulations-can-go/

money.cnn.com/2016/09/23/news/economy/donald-trump-regulation/index.html

Missswatch · 13/12/2016 17:24

If he cut these health and safety regs what do you think would happen? People wouldn't work in dangerous conditions and just work elsewhere

DeepanKrispanEven · 13/12/2016 17:39

Massively naive, Missswatch. What do they do if "just working elsewhere" isn't an option and it's a choice between risking life and limb or having no job at all?

Missswatch · 13/12/2016 17:41

What would these companies do with no workers? Ah that's right, enforce health and safety

DeepanKrispanEven · 13/12/2016 17:48

Have you ever read history, or even the newspapers, Missswatch? The simple fact is that desperation forces people to stay in unsafe jobs. Look at the appalling death rates on the Olympic stadium, look at the history of industrial diseases like phossy jaw and black lung, look at the history of appalling injuries in mines and factories before proper health and safety legislation came into effect.

Missswatch · 13/12/2016 17:49

But now it is in effect. Can't see us going backwards at all
