and in the mean time Trump takes the opportunity to poke China hard with twitter.

"Did China ask us if it was OK to devalue their currency (making it hard for our companies to compete), heavily tax our products going into..their country (the U.S. doesn't tax them) or to build a massive military complex in the middle of the South China Sea? I don't think so!"

Well of course they didn't Trump - why would they??? China doesn't need the US permission to do these things.

He's a little confused. He seems to believe he was voted in as president of the world.

Inkanta · 05/12/2016 07:30

I like that tweet from Trump about China. Upfront. Message clear. He's not going to get pushed around by China's sensibilities - when they complain he spoke to Taiwan.

I understand now why he speaks directly to the public. There is no mincing his words. The alternative would be to get his words spun by the media. At first I thought his habit of tweeting was strange but not anymore.

Lweji · 05/12/2016 07:42

Continuing from the piece that claig quoted in the Guardian:

"But that could be an oversimplification of the results. Many voters interviewed by the Guardian in the weeks leading up to the vote – including those who said they were to the left of Renzi and not supporters of Grillo or Salvini – expressed concern about the proposed changes to the constitution. The proposed reforms, in effect, neutered the senate and would have given much more power to Renzi and future prime ministers."

You always leave the important bits out.

In fact, the referendum rejected change and it maintained the current establishment. Except for the government. It's not new for Italy. And that's the reason for the proposed changes.

Still, I do worry about Italy. This is the country of Mussolini and Berlusconi.

Eric Trump on Twitter: The Sad Truth: The Cost Of Stein/Clinton's #Wisconsin Vote Recount Could Have Saved At Least 5,000 Children's Lives

He's not wrong

Lweji · 05/12/2016 07:46

"What was his opposite proposition to monitoring Muslims?"'

(To not monitor Muslims, of course.*

I was actually looking for a quote. I'm sure you'll find it.
But it's strange that you're so fond of quotes and then don't use them.

BTW, what is it? Is Trump straight talking and saying it like it is, or does he say one thing one minute and the opposite the next?
You're contradicting yourself.

He can always donate the same amount to those children.

So Renzi out, and Italy markets in turmoil this morning.
"Mr Renzi's defeat quickly soured any jubilation emanating from Vienna. The loss of a pro-European prime minister in Italy – a founder member of the EU and G7 nation – is a much bigger deal than the defeat of an extremist candidate for a ceremonial post in Austria."

Inkata, agree totally with this.

"I understand now why he speaks directly to the public. There is no mincing his words. The alternative would be to get his words spun by the media. At first I thought his habit of tweeting was strange but not anymore."

The taiwan storm in a tweet cup, was a brilliant moment to point out the level of US arms sales to Taiwan.
Simple, straightforward, and gets the message out there.

Missswatch · 05/12/2016 08:55

Why just him in particular?

Chris1234567890 · 05/12/2016 10:25

Misswatch, do you mean why Renzi? Its not particularly anything about Renzi, its the fact he staked his position on the referendum, which, (unlike our wet weekend PM Cameron who said he'd deliver our wishes) he has followed through and resigned. Its the impact of the resignation.

Italys is struggling, corruption widespread going back god knows how long, and the pressure placed on the Italian people regards migration and the refugee crisis is at boiling point. It is the impending election, now following Renzis resignation, that is the EU earth quake. So many EU states are managing to avoid asking their people their view on the EU, its unavoidable now in Italy, membership of the EU will be a central battleground.

Missswatch · 05/12/2016 10:36

No sorry I meant why Eric himself must donate millions to saving the lives of children

Chris1234567890 · 05/12/2016 10:51

LOl, sorry misswatch. Italys EU debt second highest behind Greece, early or late elections wont make a huge amount of difference there, though of course EU exit supporters are calling for an early election and prolonged uncertainty in government is never good.

Back to your Eric Trump question.........

InformalRoman · 05/12/2016 12:34

Back to your Eric Trump question.........

1 leopard = $9000 in trophy fees = 13 children's lives.

OFGS! Trump's SiL is Jewish, his grandchildren will be Jewish. get a grip.

I would organise, forge links with others who are also anti fascist, and generally be ready to put myself on the line when required

I have tried to engage with the various anti-fascist groups, UAF included. Not one of them will respond. I was asking why they are so liberal about the hate-filled public demonstrations and speeches that I see too often in London. Such as these, clearly proclaiming the destruction of some citizens of this country.

Maajid Nawaz coined the phrase Regressive Left and that's probably what all these anti groups are suffering from.

These virtue-signallers hold politically regressive views by tolerating illiberal principles and ideology for the sake of multiculturalism. All the unacceptable beliefs and practices in some groups are conveniently glossed over, but by god if seen in a Brit then he has to be demonised.

"Anti-fascists fuel the fire of hate. The self-appointed opponents of bigotry can be as ugly as the racist groups they oppose."

That's why Blair has thrown the towel in and said
" I no longer understand what is happening in politics"
Blair is out of his depth with Trump

Of course BlaIr no longer understands, because he's shocked that so many here and in USA, have shouted back that we don't want to be part of a hive that does not make sense. Some court decisions that were handed down by Blairite judges were bewildering, the prioritising of newcomers into our country is bewildering, we are told that it does not happen - therefore we are encouraed to question our own eyes and comprehension. Bewildernment has been used as a tool. Trump is saying - No, what you see is actually happening, you're not imagining it, and there is nothing too complex about our problems that cannot be solved. UK and USA have been told ad infinitum that ooooh that's a very complex situation. No it isnt, solutions are available but political will is not.

SouthallGirl · 05/12/2016 13:21

I like his directness too, Inkanta. Once the formal, gushy, diplomacies have been met and introductions made, this is how a President should talk.

I liked Reagan for it as well. I cannot recall who it was from the Russian side, but Reagan lost his temper with him and, to me, showed the sincerity of his democratic beliefs and how sometimes it is important to forget protocol and show your anger.

"Donald J. Trump ‏@realDonaldTrump 12m

I am thrilled to nominate Dr. @RealBenCarson as our next Secretary of the US Dept. of Housing and Urban Development: www.facebook.com/DonaldTrump/posts/10158231301535725:0 …"

Fantastic. Dr Ben Carson is great. The revolution continues.

Meanwhile back in the EUSSR, the elites and their puppets who lord it over the people are still reeling from the populist revolts.

But wait, what's this? It's bloody Farage. He's only done it again. He is touring Europe creating mayhem (probably with Trump's approval) Smile

"DEXIT IS ON! Eurosceptic party signals it WILL back EU referendum after Nigel Farage visit

EUROSCEPTIC leaders of the Danish People’s Party (DDP) have signalled the party is formally considering backing an EU referendum after meeting with Nigel Farage"

www.express.co.uk/news/world/739184/Dexit-Eurosceptic-party-Denmark-EU-referendum-Nigel-Farage?utm_source=traffic.outbrain&utm_medium=traffic.outbrain&utm_term=traffic.outbrain&utm_content=traffic.outbrain&utm_campaign=traffic.outbrain

EU leaders are asking if Farage intends to visit their countries on his "Grand Tour" too, because after a Farage visit, a political earthquake happens in every country on the "Tour".

OP posts:
claig · 05/12/2016 14:32

'the Danish People’s Party (DDP) have signalled the party is formally considering backing an EU referendum after meeting with Nigel Farage"'

The same group of nobodies who call themselves MPs who tried to ban Trump from entering the UK, will probably now have to try and ban Farage from leaving the UK.

The revolution continues.

What's great about this Yale educated, pro life evolution denier?

claig · 05/12/2016 14:40

'What's great about this Yale educated, pro life evolution denier?'

I didn't know he went to Yale. Good for him. He is wrong on lots of things but he is "anti political correctness" and that is good enuff for me.

OP posts:
BertrandRussell · 05/12/2016 14:44

So fine to add to the pro life contingent in governement. Wow.

Ontopofthesunset · 05/12/2016 14:49

So why does Yale escape your Oxbridge test? Basically he's an Oxbridge PPE but because Trump has appointed him that's ok. And how can you possibly say so blithely that he's wrong on lots of things but against political correctness so that's ok? Actually I don't believe you're a real person, or if you are, your job, paid or otherwise, is just to create noise.

My favourite is the fact you choose to believe that, because a known liar called the media liars, he's right. It's like those logic puzzles. If D sometimes tells the truth but says that M never tells the truth, how can we tell if he is telling the truth this time?

claig · 05/12/2016 14:53

Nothing bad about Yale or Oxbridge or PPEs. Simon Jenkis is an esteemed PPE. The only ones I am not keen on are the puppets.

'If D sometimes tells the truth but says that M never tells the truth, how can we tell if he is telling the truth this time?'

It depends if D was joking

OP posts:
Missswatch · 05/12/2016 14:56

Ben Carson denying evolution? I find that hard to believe. Given he is a doctor and evolution is a cornerstone of biology and all
