Pussy RIot staged a protest in a Russian Orthodox cathedral. She may not be christian but she knew the score. I have no sympathy for her.

BertrandRussell · 05/12/2016 17:37

"But he also has to play some politics to keep the Establishment sweet before he takes them to the cleaners."

Really? I thought he was going to "take them to the cleaners" straight away. Another broken pledge?

SouthallGirl · 05/12/2016 17:44

Some of you pretending not to know how EU is a controlling entity. Take a look at this. A young girl has been raped & drowned by an immigrant from the Religion of Peace in Germany, but one particular TV station will not carry it for fear of offending. But read the double-talk reason given by the chief of that TV station. Obnoxious.

"A MAJOR news programme has caused outrage for refusing to report on the arrest of a migrant over the murder of a German teenage girl because the story was "too regional" - despite making headlines around the world."

Missswatch · 05/12/2016 17:47

You do understand he's not president yet Bertrand?

claig · 05/12/2016 18:02

'Really? I thought he was going to "take them to the cleaners" straight away. Another broken pledge?'

That shows how little you understand of how it works. This is the Borgias x 10, Trump is Machiavelli x 100. He has the entire "corrupt global establishment" against him. He has to outwit them one by one, it can't be done overnight. Their teams are still spinning against him on TV every night.

OP posts:
OhYouBadBadKitten · 05/12/2016 18:22

southall - its all about migrants with you isn't it. I think the horrific news coming out about abuse in football once again demonstrates that it isn't something confined to a particular group of people, but there are evil and corrupt people from all nationalities and faiths and cover ups take place for all sorts of reasons.

Missswatch · 05/12/2016 18:38

Time magazine person of the year due soon. I bet Hillary gets it just for being a woman who went against The Donald

Alyosha · 05/12/2016 18:40

OhYou - yeah they don't care that Trump quite literally boasts about attacking women. They only care when migrants or muslims commit abuse.

Anyway, I know that everyone thinks I am overreacting, but really, there are so many ways Trump makes Nuclear war more likely, here is another reason: medium.com/@stevebryant/dont-worry-about-trump-and-nukes-worry-about-stanislav-petrov-4b69f3a5a302#.r60q2gvn9

So, why I think Nuclear war is much, much more likely under Trump:

  1. His disregard for political norms. Claig et al love this about him, but it's a huge issue - the diplomatic norms we have are based around preventing global nuclear war. Trump ignores them at his peril.

  2. Stoking tensions between nuclear actors like Pakistan/India through not understanding the situation. He is liable to manipulation by either side, and could provoke a conflict between the two countries if one perceives he is favouring the other.

  3. Wading in to highly sensitive matters like Taiwan without a gameplan. I totally support Taiwan, but Trump can't rage on twitter about how terrible China is and how awful their military build up is. That's provoking China and their response could be to skirmish with US military etc. Then Trump would have to respond, knowing him he would probably say he'd nuke them on twitter - game over.

  4. Saying something stupid on twitter, full stop. One tweet along the lines of "X country should be careful, we have the most nukes" = first strike threat. Other country deploys nuclear weapons as an attempt to get ahead of Trump.

WouldHave · 05/12/2016 18:48

No-one needs to spin against Trump whilst he has access to Twitter. It feels like virtually every time he goes on there he just pushes himself further into the mire.

Lweji · 05/12/2016 18:52

"But he also has to play some politics to keep the Establishment sweet before he takes them to the cleaners."

Sure he does.
I thought the rule was to start as you intend to go.
Once the system is in, he'll find it harder to fight it.
But, you don't seem to understand that he never intended to fight any system or any establishment. He is only after power and fame.
Trump is sticking it to the people and you're not even noticing it.

Lweji · 05/12/2016 18:55

You do understand he's not president yet Bertrand?

You do understand he's already choosing his team and speaking to world leaders, Misss?

Lweji · 05/12/2016 18:57

Pussy RIot staged a protest in a Russian Orthodox cathedral. She may not be christian but she knew the score. I have no sympathy for her.

I hope you don't mean that woman is Pussy Riot. She's a member of the band.

Lweji · 05/12/2016 19:02

I don't know but Trump selected him, so that is good enough for me

Oh, claig, you little lamb. Heading for the slaughter while happily singing.

Trump is just a big con.
When it hits you it will be much worse than for Blair.

Missswatch · 05/12/2016 19:04

Of course. But he still doesn't have the powers the president has yet

Lweji · 05/12/2016 19:08

And how do you think he'll fight any establishment with the appointments he's making?

claig · 05/12/2016 19:11

"Trump is just a big con."

I think that is what Obama was trying to say about Trump in the following video. It turned out the opposite.

Trump is not politically correct, he is totally unlike the puppet that is Blair.
Trump is for freedom and free speech.

"If the press would cover me accurately & honorably, I would have far less reason to "tweet." Sadly, I don't know if that will ever happen!"

Yes, Trump confirms here why he needs to tweet. Makes sense.

claig · 05/12/2016 22:20

Bad news. Al Bore was seen going into Trump Tower today and had a meeting with Trump. A good Fox analyst who is anti the global warming game, said he thinks it is probably due to Ivanka. Apparently she believes in it. I am not too keen on Ivanka, far too politically correct. I hope Trump gets his act together. This is a blow for Trump fans. This could put the dampers on Christmas.

Missswatch · 05/12/2016 22:28

More a Tiffany fan myself

claig · 05/12/2016 22:34

Haven't seen much of Tiffany, so don't know much about her. She has just graduated. Donald Trump Jr I like, not a politically correct bone in his body.

The four Republican hosts on Fox's The Five were gutted at the news of Al Gore meeting Trump and saying "there is more to come". WTAF. Next Trump will be meeting Blair to discuss hand gestures. Hopefully, the Gore meeting was just Trump's legendary sense of humour.

OP posts:
BertrandRussell · 05/12/2016 22:34

Why would that be bad news If Trump is as clever and firm in his beliefs as you say he is, why would him talking to someon with different beliefs be a problem?

claig · 05/12/2016 22:35

'why would him talking to someon with different beliefs be a problem?'

Because Trump does tend to listen to Ivanka, he likes taking her advice and if she is into climate change, Trump may go easy on the spinners to please Ivanka. Worrying times.

OP posts:
claig · 05/12/2016 22:46

There were rumours that Chelsea Clinton had interceded with her friend, Ivanka, to ask Trump to go easy on the Clintons. We don't know how Trump will react yet.

OP posts:
Ontopofthesunset · 05/12/2016 22:55

You do sound oh so slightly unbalanced when you say things like "Trump is Machiavelli times 100". I'm sure he is a clever deal maker and certainly a man who knows who to survive bankrupt businesses with his personal wealth intact but he is not some kind of genius Messiah. If he were, he wouldn't have had the bankrupt businesses in the first place, because, you know, he would have been a more successful businessman than than.
