More on the meaning of Trump, the Trumpsters and Trumpism

OP posts:
OhYouBadBadKitten · 28/11/2016 20:48

That was a particularly spectacular contradiction Grin

Southallgirl · 28/11/2016 20:50

Are there Ukrainian Cossacks as well as Russian ones?

Cossacks can be Ukrainian and southern Russian but they also accepted Tatars and other nationalities, the main condition being you had to believe in Christ; also very anti-Stalin.

Inkanta · 28/11/2016 20:51

Knock three times on the ceiling if you want me
Twice on the pipes is the answer if no ...

Kaija · 28/11/2016 20:54

And, not completely sure whether you were addressing me or Alyosha, but -

"we had teh pleasure of your company, you have accused us of being "fascists", "national socialists", "far right", "racists", "white supremacists", and me of being a Putin troll."

As I have said before, I have questioned you, Claig, on all these things, not accused you, and I will continue to question you as and when your posts suggest that this is where your sympathies lie. I have never suggested all Trump supporters are any of these things- I have been quite specific.

claig · 28/11/2016 20:54

Thanks, Southall, I know that some Cossacks have volunteered to fight for the Donbass Ukrainians who are Russian speaking. Are any Ukrainian Cossacks fighting with the Ukrainians or are all of the Cossacks on the side of the Russian speakers?

OP posts:
Southallgirl · 28/11/2016 20:58

Claig I dont know the answer to that. They are essentially the same people, same ethnicity, same food, same religion. There is a tiny difference in the languages; Ukrainian tends to drop a consonant in words, and some words are different.

claig · 28/11/2016 20:59

'And, not completely sure whether you were addressing me or Alyosha, but - '
That was you, Alyosha has not used "white supremacist" smears, that is your trademark? Maybe English politeness is not your thing.

OP posts:
claig · 28/11/2016 21:04

Thanks, Southall. Remembering moe about it, I think all COssacks come from Ukraine, is that right? Traditionally, as you say, they supported the Tsars and were Christian. There are about three denominations in Ukraine - Russian Orthodox (which I guess the Cossacks may be) and some Pope Vatican Orthodox type thing and maybe some Catholics who are near the Polish border and from where most of teh Neo-Nazis come from.

The hero of the Neo-Nazis is Stefen Bandera who killed Poles and Jews. What religious denomination was he?

Trump wins Michigan again after recount. Tired of winning yet Claig?

Kaija · 28/11/2016 21:14

"'And, not completely sure whether you were addressing me or Alyosha, but - '
That was you, Alyosha has not used "white supremacist" smears, that is your trademark? Maybe English politeness is not your thing."

No but I'm very polite in Latvian...

I have not "smeared" you. You have expressed a great deal admiration and support for people closely associated with white supremacists over many posts. That is a big deal and I would think you would welcome the opportunity to distance yourself from those views, or at least to clarify your position.

claig · 28/11/2016 21:18

'Trump wins Michigan again after recount. Tired of winning yet Claig?'

Are you sure? That is brilliant news Grin

Soros must be spitting feathers. Soros took down Ukraine with the Maidan, but he sures as hell has met his match in Trump.

USA! Go Trump! Go Trumpsters!

"You will never get tired of winning. There will be so much winning" as Trump always promised.

Maybe we in England will get some winning too! Grin

OP posts:
OhYouBadBadKitten · 28/11/2016 21:19

Actually, I'm sure he said you'll get tired of winning not you won't.

Spinflight · 28/11/2016 21:26

". That is a big deal and I would think you would welcome the opportunity to distance yourself from those views, or at least to clarify your position."

Why should she welcome an opportunity to disassociate herself from the craziness in your head kaija?

You might see white supremacists everywhere though when the kkk membership is 3000 people it shows just irrational and out of touch you are.

Maybe you would like to disassociate yourself from the endless smears which are your hallmark.

squishysquirmy · 28/11/2016 21:27

Southall, I am maybe more pragmatic than you think - I have never argued, for example that completely uncontrolled global immigration is a good thing, but that's not the current situation we have. I think that there are real problems in the world, but that they are complicated and I am very sceptical of those offering simple solutions.

What I get really upset about is politicians who cynically allow immigrants to bear the brunt of public anger for policies and spending cuts made by those same politicans.
I get upset at angry old men who advocate targeting the children of suspected terrorists, who say that women who have abortions should be imprisoned (which by the way, whatever your views on pro-life/choice would lead to women being interviewed by police following a miscarriage).
I get furious at leaders who deliberately target aid runs, hospitals and the food supplies of a starving, suffering population.
At dictators who use chemical weapons on their own people.
And I do get upset at those who cheerfully express unquestioning support in those angry old men, who laugh off disgusting, misogenistic, racist language as a joke and who dismiss genuine humanitarian concern as "wailing liberalism".

And by the way, I am not a foreign plant but in the interests of disclosure I do have a bit of forrin blood in me. (In fact I am even descended from asylum seekers!)

Spinflight · 28/11/2016 21:29

Come to think of it I can't recall a forum debate previously with anyone as extreme as kaija.

She seems to be utterly obsessed with race.

claig · 28/11/2016 21:33

'You have expressed a great deal admiration and support for people closely associated with white supremacists'

Who are you talking about? The black Stump for Trump Sisters, black Presidential candidates Dr Ben Carson and Herman Cain?

They voted for Trump as did 29% of Latinos and the majority of all whites in America? Are these people "closely associated with white supremacists"?

Why don't you spread you race hate baiting somewhere else?

But first watch something that the soinners at the BBC would nevr show. Latinos 4 Trump!

Go Trump! Go Latinos 4 Trump! Go America, save us from the people trying to take our liberties in Europe.

Go Trump! We hope you beat Soros.

OP posts:
claig · 28/11/2016 21:40

'Actually, I'm sure he said you'll get tired of winning not you won't.'

True, OhYouBadKitten Grin

That is why we love Trump. We love his humour. He is unlike any member of our political class. There is only one Donald Trump and he is taking on all the global elites. We all wish him luck.

Trump vs Soros
King Kong vs Godzilla

Go Trump!

"Soros bands with donors to resist Trump, 'take back power'

Major liberal funders huddle behind closed doors with Pelosi, Warren, Ellison, and union bosses to lick wounds, retrench.

George Soros and other rich liberals who spent tens of millions of dollars trying to elect Hillary Clinton are gathering in Washington for a three-day, closed door meeting to retool the big-money left to fight back against Donald Trump."

Thank you Spinflight, that is certainly the first time in my life I have been called an extremist. I'm quite excited by all the new labels I have acquired on this thread: extremist, establishment, elitist, Blairite, Latvian...

I am astounded that you and Claig think nothing of the fact that the KKK and American Nazi party are celebrating Trump's victory, while a leading figure in Bannon's alt right movement is filmed doing Nazi salutes and chanting Heil Trump. And a look at Trump's own output on Mexicans, Islam, women, the families of terror suspects etc tells you exactly why he is a big deal for them. What Trump's own views are, who can say, since he contradicts himself on pretty much every subject. But he's sure as hell happy to use others' hatred for his own ends.

This is not normal. And attempts to normalise it, or pretend it is unimportant or irrelevant, or that people who protest against it are "extremists" have to be resisted at every turn.

claig · 28/11/2016 22:01

'And attempts to normalise it, or pretend it is unimportant or irrelevant, or that people who protest against it are "extremists" have to be resisted at every turn.'

29% of Latinos voted for Trump. Do you work for the Orifice of Tony Blair, or something? Has his Foundation, what is it called? The No Faith Foundation, I think. Has the Floundation got an orifice in Latvia?

What does everyone, who doesn't see fascism in every situation, think Trump is doing with Romney?

Trump has lined up a meeting with Romney again tomorrow for possible Secretary of State. I am not for Romney.

I think Trump may be humiliating Romney and the Establishment deliberately. Trump fans have been going nuts saying they don't want Romney, and Trump is pretending he wants him. What is going on?

Trump may even appoint him to sucker the Establishment and then publicly humiliate and sack him after he gets in on Jan 20.

Trump is a genius. He knows what he is doing. He is definitely up to something, but what it is, no one knows. Smile

OP posts:
claig · 28/11/2016 22:12

Soros is scratching his head about the whole Romney situation.

Trump is five moves ahead of Soros, Trump has him beat, checkmate.

Soros should have listened to Trump's mate, Roger Stone

"I have known Trump for 40 years and he is tough as nails. Believe me, after Manhattan real estate, Putin is a pushover"

What chance have the Blairites got against Trump?

None Grin

We're free, folks. They'll never take our free speech!

Claig - Religions. There is Ukrainian Orthodox, Russian Orthodox and also Ukrainian Catholic (Eastern Catholic) that separated from the Eastern Orthodox Church. and also Ukrainian Greek Catholic as well.

I'd never heard of Bandera but looked him up. He was a Ukrainian Greek Catholic.

Kaija · 28/11/2016 22:18

"29% of Latinos voted for Trump."

Or not.

www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.washingtonpost.com/amphtml/blogs/plum-line/wp/2016/11/15/why-the-exit-polls-are-wrong-on-latino-votes/?client=safari

More like 18% for Trump vs 79% for Clinton.

Alyosha · 28/11/2016 22:20

Ukrainian is not the same as Russian with a few different words & consonants!Although they are closely related, they are nowhere near being as similar as that - if they were I would be able to understand Ukrainian.

Originally I got involved because I saw claig saying what southall just said (several months ago claig had a lot of opinions on Ukraine and the "Russian-ness" of the Donbass, although she appears to have forgotten them now).

I apologise for the poor grammar, and for derailing this thread. but it is infuriating to see people spread lies about the Donbass & Donetsk, when I know the people and I see how much Russia has fucked it up for them.

I will attempt to restrain myself to Trump...

So, any concerns over his desire for retribution and his noted fascination with the destructive power of Nukes
