More on the meaning of Trump, the Trumpsters and Trumpism

OP posts:
squishysquirmy · 27/11/2016 10:06

fourmummy: Both you and Claig were very enthusiastic about Tony Blair, and now admit that you were proved very wrong. Do either of you admit it to be conceivable that you might be wrong about Trump? Or is that impossible?
And you didn't really answer my question about Julian Assange, but that is your choice and you don't have to if you'd rather not.

claig · 27/11/2016 10:07

'It's really something when real life starts to approximate the Jason Bourne movies'

That is exactly right, fourmummy. Trump is in the thick of it, we don't even know the half of what is going on, we are only observing snippets of a huge power struggle that Orwell and Hollywood couldn't even make up.

"Trump would have won without Assange but Assange is a very, very brave man."

He is indeed fourmummy, and the debt the world owes him will never be understated.

claig · 27/11/2016 10:09

'Do either of you admit it to be conceivable that you might be wrong about Trump? Or is that impossible?'

Of course we do. Trump may be a con man, he may have tricked the people. The elite may want him there, he may sell out to the Establishment. This is beyond any Jason Bourne movie in what is happening. But I think Trump is the real deal and will change the world for the better, but only time will tell, just as it told for Bliar.

Kim Dotcom's tweet has got to be one of the best tweets of the entire election

Kim Dotcom @KimDotcom ∙ Nov 06
2016 is the year hackers became journalists & journalists became hacks

Incredible events. Hollywood has nothing on this.

rising far right nationalism

This is not going to happen because there's no appetite for it. This is because of the internet and the availability of alternative narratives, education (both formal and informal), our changed relationship with authority (we don't so easily listen to or take orders), and the changed relationship in power between knowledge producers and consumers (people know that they want to see justice and fairness in their lives instead of being constantly told by authority figures that they are stupid and need fixing). No-one is interested apart from a few people. There's more evidence for the fact that the vast majority of people want to live peacefully than not. There always has been. The internet has enabled people to refuse authority's orders and pursue alternatives.

Lweji · 27/11/2016 10:28

not call anybody a fascist for supporting Farage or Trump?

People are pointing out similarities between Trump and Farage and fascist practices and ideology.
You support who you want. Smile

Lweji · 27/11/2016 10:31

rising far right nationalism

This is not going to happen because there's no appetite for it.

And yet it keeps creeping up, like it has before.
You may end up with a nasty surprise.

"Julian Assange Overtakes Donald Trump in TIME Person of the Year Reader’s Poll"

time.com/4578520/julian-assange-donald-trump-person-of-the-year-poll/

Anyone know if Assange is OK? The 16 year olds in Macedonia are coming up with all sorts of stuff about Assange and I don't know if it is "fake news" or not.

OP posts:

Oh dear, Claig, you said this was a good humoured thread. Was that not your kind of humour?

Claig's humour is like Trump's. It's only acceptable one way. From Trump.
And politeness is only demanded one way. Towards Trump.

BTW, claig, dear, you've been highjacking threads for months with repeated long posts about Trump. No matter who started the thread.
Now you're complaining about me posting on your threads?
Not very consistent, is it?

squishysquirmy · 27/11/2016 10:47

"This is not going to happen because there's no appetite for it."

Come on, now.
The world may change but people do not.
There will always be an appetite for simplistic solutions to complex problems.
there will always be an appetite for charismatic leaders offering something "new", and there will always be people willing to completely suspend their disbelief and follow those leaders with blind trust and evangelical fervour.
Their will always be the temptation to retreat into little groups when the going gets tough and during times of security fears.
There will always be the temptation to demonise "others" and scapegoat groups that are different from us.
It can happen again - not exactly the same as before, not with carbon-copy nazis but it can happen.
The only way to avoid it is to exercise a bit of critical thinking, a bit of cynisism of those who seek power. To bot immediately dismiss concerns as "hysterical" or "hyperbole"
It is neither impossible nor inevitable, and those who do not learn from the mistakes of the past are condemned to repeat them.

claig · 27/11/2016 10:52

'BTW, claig, dear, you've been highjacking threads for months with repeated long posts about Trump. No matter who started the thread.'

No I haven't. I have stuck to the Politics and In the News boards and started nearly all the threads on Trump which are thousands and thousands of posts. I avoid posting on other people's threads because I can't be bothered to argue with people calling me a fascist when they haven't got a clue what is happening in the world or with the Clinton Foundation or pay and play or anything else.

OhYou set up a separate Trump election thread where all the posters who don't like my views could post without my input. They could call me a troll and a bot on that one. I stick to my own threads where I hope I will not be called a bot and a fascist and a white supremacist, but that doesn't work either.

As Ivana Trump so wisely said on Celebrity Big Brother many years ago

"It is wot it is"

and the smears against Trump by the elites and the media will continue forever because he represents an existential threat to them.

"It is wot is it"

Go Trump! Go the Stump for Trump Sisters! Go Trumpsters!

I agree with teh woman at teh start of this video

Re rise of far right - it all depends on how we view 'the person'. For years, we've been told that people are racist and sexist, and so we need policies and programmes to control or fix these out of them. Could it possibly be the case that people couldn't care less about race, gender or anything else, and just want to get on with their lives, but certain factions have found it expedient to construct, amplify and perpetuate these for certain specific reasons? I don't have the answers, but I do know that there are definitely possibilities other than those available via the mainstream narrative of any society.

claig · 27/11/2016 11:16

'Could it possibly be the case that people couldn't care less about race, gender or anything else, and just want to get on with their lives'

Absolutely, as the videos of black Americans for Trump and Latinos 4 Trump, and the Stump for Trump Ssters videos show, there are many black and Latino people who like Trump as well as the majority of white people. Fortunately, we have youtube and social media because the mainstream media tries to hide it form the people as do the elites because they can only rule by divide and rule and creating divisions where they play groups off against each other based on race, sex and class.

But despite all the rigged polls and all the rigged media, the American people still voted for a united America and to make America great again and the elites and the media were soundly defeated with Trump winning a landslide in the Congress, Senate and electoral college.

Of course, it is not over yet, because although Trump called it Brexit x 10, it is really James Bond x 10 and Jason Bourne x 10 and the elites are desperate.

claig · 27/11/2016 11:27

The election of Trump affects not only Americans, it affects every single person on the planet.

The Christians and Muslims in the Middle East will finally get peace and be able to live well in their rich countires with oil and assets. The Jewish people will probably finally be able to get a peace deal.

The British people will finally be able to get Brexit. The European people will soon be free as Trump sidelines the EU and it probably falls apart. The Russian people won't get a nuclear war.

And most importantly, the American people will get their jobs back and their good futures back.

"Make America Great Again" "Make Britain independent again" "Make Europe free again" "Make the Middle East peaceful again"

They won't be able to take our free speech off us and cal us fascists if we read the Daily Mail and disagree with Blair and don't like political correctness when Donald Trump is in power.

All this in four years? claig this is totally wishful thinking, you are talking about DT like he's some sort of God.

InformalRoman · 27/11/2016 12:04

On DT - just remember he's not The Messiah, he's a very naughty boy.

claig · 27/11/2016 12:09

'All this in four years? claig'

I think it will be done in less than 4 years.

As Trump always says "politics, all talk no action"

Trump is not a "career politician", he is a billionaire businessman who gets the job done "under budget and ahead of time".

I think the world will be stunned by what happens and how fast it happens. Trump is meeting Sheriff David Clarke on Monday and if you have watched the Sheriff on youtube clips of his appearnces, you know that he will also get the job done and the elites will not be able to try any of their tricks to stop Trump.

Trump said it hundreds of times and Trump fans all agreed

"we are led by very, very stupid people, very, very stupid people"

Not any more and the change will be so fast it will make the elite's heads spin, their pulses rocket and their jaws drop as they run as fast as they can.

What we have heard from Wikileaks so far is only a fraction of what really went on. Trump knows it all and things will be sorted quickly.

OP posts:
Roussette · 27/11/2016 12:14

I know all that claig youve said the same thing again and again (stupid people, billionaire businessman, elites headspin, jaws dropping blah blah). Trump fans may agree. Doesn't mean it will be reality.

All highly unlikely. Your to-do list is impossible in four years. Just sayin'

fourmummy · 27/11/2016 12:16

Informal - correct, but Trump didn't get elected because of Trump (although Claig would probably disagree). Trump got elected because of everything that came before. We'd travelled as far as we could down a particular road.

claig · 27/11/2016 12:19

'All highly unlikely. Your to-do list is impossible in four years. Just sayin''

See you here in 2 years' time, when I reckon nearly all of it will be done

Trump's popularity will be through the roof as Apple, Carrier and Ford bring jobs and factories back, elites will not be able to peep above their parapets and Channel 4 News will still be slagging Trump off. There will be huge change, but not on Channel 4. Some things never change.

OP posts:
InformalRoman · 27/11/2016 12:20

fourmummy You have seen The Life of Brian? Confused

claig · 27/11/2016 12:25

'Trump got elected because of everything that came before. We'd travelled as far as we could down a particular road.'

Absolutely. Trump could not have won 8 years ago when Obama won, probably not 4 years ago either which is why he decided not to run, but now a populist rebellion is sweeping the whole world and Brexit was part of that. Now was Trump's time, but even though it was his time, nobody but Trump could have won it, because nobody else has that confidence, courage and sense of humour and that is what it really takes to beat the entire world elite and all their media and all their puppets across the world calling Trump "unfit".

Farage is pretty good, but he could never do it because he hasn't got a 100th of what Trump is made of.

Trump's son, Donald J Trump Jr, has got, I have seen it in him and I predict that he will be the next President after Trump. But Donald J Trump doesn't have the excellent sense of humour that Trump has and that is what took Trump over the line.

OP posts:
claig · 27/11/2016 12:31

If our elites had any sense, they would be trying to make contacts with Donald J Trump Jr for the future, because I think he will be yuuge. But we know how stupid our Oxbridge teams are and all the insults they threw at Trump as they couldn't understand that the earth was shaking under their feet.

"we are led by very, very stupid people"

and alas that is true for us too.

OP posts:
claig · 27/11/2016 12:41

I think the EU will collapse in less than 2 years' time and I think Trump will give it the final shove and kick. That is how huge the events that are now occurring are. Europe better got on the Trump Train fast or it will be left behind at the station.

If our elites had any sense, they would watch every Stump for Trump Sisters video they can, but we know how useless over Oxbridge teams are:

As the Sisters always say

"Are you on the Trump Train, baby? All aboard Choo Choo!"
"Get on the Trump Train, or get the hell outta the way"
