Clearly an argument for a second referendum, and for not triggering Article 50.

It's a bit late now.

They should have voted in the real poll.

I reckon it would take a General Election with (at least) one party having Bremain in their manifesto. And they'd rather be in power than be in Europe so I think won't risk it without a 100% cast-iron guarantee of winning.

I am not surprised. I just hope it isn't too late, but fear it might be.

There are plenty of people who thought they could use the referendum to just give the Government a kicking. There are others who gave no thought at all as to what leaving might actually mean.

These were the people who then squealed in horror when what they actually voted for and the consequences thereof began to look like actually happening, as if that was in some way unexpected.

I have to admit that I found them pretty unimpressive and hope they do now truly regret their stupidity.

Because polls have such a good track record recently

I'm obviously an aberration...I voted remain but would now vote leave. I hate the way the way the EU leaders have sought to punish the U.K. because of the vote....I was never one to want to be part of a club that hates me.

But yeah, if we've learned anything from the past 18 months surely it's not to trust polls unless they consistently showing leads in the same direction of well outside the margin of error.

And even then I don't think I'd trust 'em

This year has destroyed democracy, it's not working any more. We need another way.

It's not going to happen. We have a piss poor opposition at best, a government that won't even stand up to defend an independent judiciary and a press that thinks nothing of whipping up hysteria for a quick buck with absolutely no heed to responsible journalism. There was only one poll that mattered and some people couldn't be bothered to vote in it and some people thought it was some sort of game of chicken. We're all just going to have to suck it up and see where it leads us.

We vote every 4-5 years to elect a different government, so I don't see what your problem is, wombat.

Well they should have fucking voted remain then. It was bad enough when I thought leaving was not what I wanted. It's a bloody farce to find out that it's not what the majority wants either. Why the hell did they vote for it.

It was a referendum, just because DC said he would trigger A50 doesn't mean it's all legal and binding. The slight majority voted one way, I think it was too close to say right it has to be this way.

Now a sensible, factual () debate shold happen. I think lots would vote remain now but I also think a few would now vote go.

I voted remain but I think what's done is done, no take backs, it wasn't a game, it was one fair vote and now it has to be stuck to, only fair way is if a party runs on a remain manifesto during a GE and wins

The votes stands - lets just get on with it and stop faffing around. As others have said the polls are not a good indicator right now. (Not helped I suspect by people who disagree with the liberal left being painted as a racists/evil etc -not wanting to be labelled as such)
I'm in Scotland we already have Neverendum going on - I think the theory is keep putting it to the people until they get so fed of it and the discord it causes they vote as the SNP (establishment in the case of Brexit) wants so they just shut up about it and get on with doing what they should be - running the country effectively...
I'm very tempted next time I'm asked saying I am going to vote for independence (when I think that would be insane) -if enough people do Nicola will call one, be defeated again and might (vain hope) just drop it...
(I was frightened to admit to being a no voter before the last one...the Yes campaign were quite vocal)
