Into the final lap now after over 1 year of entertainment, education and excitement. Donald J Trump is nearly there against all expectations.

The reference to Hitler upthread made me think that you, claig, would have been just as much a cheerleader for him, before he gained power, as you are for Trump today.

There is as much chance of him "...put(ting) America First, bring(ing) jobs back and end(ing) corruption", and all the other outrageous claims you make on his behalf, as I do of flying to the moon!

The man is a first grade snake oil salesman; and I'm afraid you display the depths of your own complete and utter naivety by supporting such a charlatan!

Lweji · 07/11/2016 22:12

Spinflight

It still makes that sentence absolute bollocks. Read it again.

Shiningexample · 07/11/2016 22:13

The man is a first grade snake oil salesman
I disagree, he's no where near smooth or polished enough to qualify as a snake oil salesman, that would take charisma and guile
Trump is an oaf

claig · 07/11/2016 22:13

'He may well try and shake the system up but his hands will be tied.'

It depends what he does and how far he goes with sorting out corruption. There are a hell of a lot of crooks and my guess is that Trump may set prosecutors on the case and as he says "Drain the Swamp" and that will shake everything up and when the people discover the amount of crookedness, just like we found with our MP expenses scandal when the press finally decided to reveal what our servants were up to, then they will be angry and vote for new people who will fall in line with Trump.

Trump has done a hostile takeover of the Republican Party. Jeb Bush was almost in tears when he told Megyn Kelly a year ago "he has taken over my party". My guess is he will kick ass of the crooks and take over and shake up the entire system as he Drains the Swamp.

I think he was put up by a faction precisely to do that in order to make America great again and in order to defeat the globalists and what he said was "Hillary Clinton is a vessel of the corrupt global establishment that is raiding our country". I think they know he is coming for them and they know it is not a game.

Exactly. Nobody thought Hitler would be like Hitler until he was.

Not saying Trump would be that bad. But it's certainly dangerous to allow this type of person to reach power.

Shiningexample · 07/11/2016 22:15

you display the depths of your own complete and utter naivety by supporting such a charlatan
you're also very wide of the mark here
I dont quite know what Claig's game is but there's nothing naive about our Claig

claig · 07/11/2016 22:15

'if he gets in he'll be the American Berlusconi'

Yes, he is often compared to Berlusconi. Whether he will be like that, we will have to wait and see.

" It is becoming abundantly clear that ordinary people are simply avoiding the MSM narratives that they used to have to swallow, and are doing their own thing."

Welcome to the information revolution baby!

Most of the elites still live in the old world where what is said behind closed doors is all that matters, where they could filter and limit what information and propaganda the masses receive. Increasingly we are seeing behind the doors, listening in to the conversations and ignoring their output.

That there's still a self reinforcing echo chamber of self delusional halfwits who think they only have to paint one side as the devil for the pitchfork wielding masses to do their bidding is rather sweet. Though in the same way that it's sweet when your daughter figures out how to take a picture of their thumb with your smartphone.

Bless em, they don't half provide some great entertainment. Whether Brexit or the Presidential election you can be increasingly sure of enjoying their dejection the day after. :D

I still have Cameron's resignation speech downloaded to cheer me up. Seeing that chump the morning after is priceless. Lol.

claig · 07/11/2016 22:23

Thanks, Shiningexample

I have no game. I used to be a Tory and then I had enough of Cameron and his modernisers and the twits who are messing up our country and allowing political correctness to mean that Germaine Greer can't say whatever the hell she likes wherever the hell she likes. I am sick of our freedoms being slowly removed by the idiots from Oxbridge who run us and wanted to hand over our sovereignty to some more idiots in Brussels. I am sick of the lies on the media and sick of the spin. That is why I voted UKIP as a protest vote to stick two fingers up to the metropolitan elite.

I am not the only one who feels like that, it is a worldwide populist rebellion. We are all fed up of the corrupt servants and puppets who rule us because they are idiots and carry out idiotic policies. That is why I understand the Trump phenomenon and support Trump because it is the same as here. But whereas we can never ever change the idiocy of our Oxbridge Establishment system, if Trump wins it will have to change because without America all corrupt elites worldwidde are toast. So finally Trump common sense will lead to commn sense for us here too.

As Trump says "who do you want to negotiate for you - Trump or those clowns?"

Like every populist on the planet, I choose Trump everytime.

The reference to Hitler was deliberate. Comparisons to Hitler are apt when they are valid. I do not make them lightly. My parents grew up under Hitler.

People who know about the Nazis only from history books often assume that Germany under the Nazis must have been full of astonishingly, uniquely evil people. It wasn't. There were lots of nice, very cultured people. Lots of perfectly ordinary, minding their own business people. It only took a relatively tiny number of complete psychopaths and some astonishingly huge lies, together with an undeniable skill at propaganda, to create what we all know the Nazi regime turned out to be.

One of many useful lessons to learn from that period of history is never to underestimate the nutters, or rather never to underestimate their ability to assume power despite obvious nuttiness.

Spinflight · 07/11/2016 22:31

I can see the headline tomorrow...

Internet keyboard warrior doesn't make Hitler reference lightly!

Kaija · 07/11/2016 22:36

Claig that's a beautiful story.

You forgot to mention your admiration of Putin, but perhaps that goes without saying.

claig · 07/11/2016 22:43

I know very little about Putin. I don't know if he is politically correct or not and stops people like Germaine Greer saying whatever she wants. But I am not anti Putin. I couldn't care less about him as long as he doesn't threaten our freedoms. I agree with Jill Stein and Trump, I don't want a nuclear war because some bankers want to rob Russian oil. I think they should get along and do business.

And I agree with Trump that Islamic terrorism is the threat, Isis, not Russia who are not chopping people's heads off.

I agree with Jill Stein when she tweeted

Dr. Jill Stein ‏@DrJillStein 13h13 hours ago

If Saudi Arabia funded 9/11 and ISIS too, why does Obama protect them, Clinton arm them, & Podesta lobby for them?

What the hell is going on with these charidees and why aren't the media telling us about the "pay for play"? Why is it Wikileaks and not the BBC telling us? What is going on? Trump knows and he will sort it out.

OP posts:
Lweji · 07/11/2016 22:52

Why is Russia not dealing with ISIS, then?

claig · 07/11/2016 22:54

They are but they are also being preveneted from finishing the ragbag mercenaries off because the pay for play Saudis and Qataris are supporting them. Trump and General Mike Flynn know it and they will end it overnight.

OP posts:
Kaija · 07/11/2016 22:55

You are too coy - you've been defending Putin on here for a long long time.

Breadandwine · 07/11/2016 22:57

"Naivety: lack of experience, wisdom or judgement"

While I can't speak to claig's lack of experience, the rest of that definition certainly fits - IMO!

Breadandwine · 07/11/2016 23:04

However, I do admire the fact that you can take a joke yourself, claig - so something that should make everyone smile! Grin

claig · 07/11/2016 23:05

I don't know what he does in his country. I agree with him over Ukraine and Syria. I don't want a war with Russia over Ukraine and I am glad we are out of the EU so we don't have to wait until Ukraine joins it too and some of their Neo-Nazis end up over here.

I also agree with Putin over Syria. I am agaist Islamic Jihadis, so I prefer the secular Assad government that protects all the people of Syria including Christians. Anyone who really goes after defeating Jihadis is fine by me. I agree with the Christians of Syria who are praying for a Trump victory because then Isis wil be smashed in cooperation with Putin and all the pay for play charidees will be investigated and criminals will be prosecuted.

"Christians claim Obama 'ABANDONED' them to sick ISIS jihadis - and back Trump election win

IRAQI Christians will pray for Donald Trump's election victory after they condemned US Government for "abandoning" them to the barbaric terror of Islamic State."

www.express.co.uk/news/world/729344/Iraqi-Christians-Trump-Obama-ISIS-terror

And I also now understand what Israel has been going through, which I never fully appreciated before, and I want an end to all Islamic terrorism and a good deal for Israel and I think that only Trump can do that because the rest of the pay for play charidee brigade are in the pockets of the Saudis and the Wahabbis who are spreading Islamic fundamentalism everywhere.

Spinflight - loved the exclamation mark after your comment on my post about Hitler and my parents' first-hand experience of living under his regime.

Isn't it good that some people can find the Nazis so amusing.

I don't strangely. I don't find Trump amusing either.

Kaija · 07/11/2016 23:12

"I don't know what he does in his country."

claig · 07/11/2016 23:17

"I don't know what he does in his country."

I don't know and I don't care just as I don't care about what the Chinese government or the Indonesian government does as long as they are not threatening us. I agree with Trump that it is none of our business and the best thing to do is to try and get along rather than have Blairite humanitarian wars to do regime change in countries that have nothing to do with us.

I am for peace and business, like Trump, not for intervention like Bush, Blair, Clinton and the globalists.

"Here’s Why THE POLLS ARE WRONG=> Trump Will WIN IN A LANDSLIDE! (POLLS)"

OP posts:
Spinflight · 08/11/2016 00:23

The problem with poll aggregations and projections is that they assume the polls are roughly right in the first place and that aggregating them reduces the margin of error.

The democrat's emails went into some detail about how the polls should be fixed through over sampling and the majority of polls have either been carried out by the same media that acts like a wing of the party or paid for by their lackey business interests.

I do wonder why people still do this deliberately as all the evidence indicates that in a close race the party shown to be losing benefits through greater determination to vote.

Now I don't think Clinton is quite a Walter Mondale but it really wouldn't surprise me if she was a Carter.
