new thread. :)

The problem is that he seems to support a return to pre-Obama attitudes to LGBTQ.

It may be just to get right wing votes, but it could end up being a one step forward and two back.

Imagine Rosa Parks having to stand up again after gaining the right to sit.

His other attitudes are similar to what he displays in general towards people who bring no benefit to him. He's happy to put down people and groups and then talk to them and say they're great (when he needs them).

WinchesterWoman · 03/11/2016 06:54

I think the worst he will do in lgbtq eyes is not bother to pusesue bathroom laws in favour of transgender people.

WinchesterWoman · 03/11/2016 06:57

That's just a sort of generalised dislike you have. It's very different from identifying homophobic rhetoric.

Lweji · 03/11/2016 06:59

Not if the right (wrong) judge is nominated.
Although, fingers crossed for a Democrat House, should the worst happen.

Lweji · 03/11/2016 07:06

Who said I was trying to justify homophobic rethoric?

I'm pointing out how the LGBTQ community can be affected if he and GOP win.
Worrying about going back to no marriage and no homosexuals in the forces it's not generic dislike.

Also, the comment about homophobic rethoric said specifically that came out of his campaign, not (only) Trump.
I'm just waiting for him to show posters saying "The gays for Trump". :)

WinchesterWoman · 03/11/2016 07:11

You came in the middle of a conversation that was accusing him of homophobic rhetoric. Don't have a go at me

WinchesterWoman · 03/11/2016 07:13

He already did - he unfurled a rainbow flag

WinchesterWoman · 03/11/2016 07:22

I don't know how he would reverse the gay marriage law. I don't know what the process would be or if it's in his gift. It's not a policy he says he'll do.

Lweji · 03/11/2016 07:36

Don't have a go at me
What?
Anyway...

I came in the middle of the conversation but pointed out that what "was worrying was", clearly going beyond your bone of homophobic rethoric.

He can wave as many rainbow or Mexican flags as he wants.

Trump has said that it's easy to overturn executive orders, which Obama has used to overcome a GOP majority that blocked most of his intentions.

Laws can easily be revoked if there's a majority.

WinchesterWoman · 03/11/2016 07:38

It's a Supreme Court ruling and he hasn't said that's his policy

WinchesterWoman · 03/11/2016 07:43

It's not my bone. He's accused of homophobic rhetoric so I asked for some examples.

Roussette · 03/11/2016 07:51

He already did - he unfurled a rainbow flag

What an empty gesture given he opposes marriage equality and he has the homophobic Pence as running mate. I think Trump would do anything to get votes but his views are his views which I imagine are much the same as Pence who opposes same sex marriage, opposes anti discrimination measures for the LGBTQ community and wants to stop federal funding for AIDS/HIV groups. I think he's for conversion therapy too if I remember rightly.

'Homophobic rhetoric' is taken from the link I did yesterday. What you WW or I call rhetoric is neither here nor there really, DT's and Pence's views are ingrained.

Lweji · 03/11/2016 07:57

It's a Supreme Court ruling and he hasn't said that's his policy
And who does he want to appoint to the Supreme Court?

RufusTheSpartacusReindeer · 03/11/2016 08:16

I agree that it seems he will do anything for votes

My understanding was that he was pro abortion rights but that wasnt going down too well with the christian right and now he is against abortion rights

OhYouBadBadKitten · 03/11/2016 09:33

What a pity the rainbow flag was upside down.

OP posts:
Lweji · 03/11/2016 09:47

I hadn't seen the photo with the flag.

So the GOProud, LGBTForTrump guy doesn't know which side his "own" flag goes?

Is he, like, the only gay in the village?

Lweji · 03/11/2016 09:50

And, BTW:

"Obama, who was named Out magazine’s “Ally of the Year” in 2015 signed an executive order the previous year protecting LGBT government workers from discrimination. Federal contractors can no longer be fired for their sexual orientation or gender identity."

And, as mentioned, Trump has said he would easily repeal the previous President's executive orders...

OhYouBadBadKitten · 03/11/2016 09:51

Considering that the flag was written on - someone certainly didn't know which way the flag goes!!!

LGBTQ Nation

OP posts:
Lweji · 03/11/2016 10:04

It was funny how he mentioned the LGBTQ community in one of his speeches. He was clearly reading it and pronounced each letter so slowly that he was obviously not used to saying it.

Establishment desperate as the end nears

"Almost All Last-Minute Bets Are for Trump, Paddy Power Says

Thoughts of Brexit may be the reason 91% of gamblers are putting their money on the Republican nominee.

In the betting markets at least, Donald Trump is crushing Hillary Clinton.
...
“You don’t normally see so much placed on the outside candidate but I think the shock of Brexit is fresh in people’s minds,” Mac An Iomaire said. The S&P 500 is on track for its longest losing streak since 2011 as market participants fret about a possible Trump Presidency."

www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2016-11-02/91-percent-of-last-minute-bets-are-for-trump-paddy-power-says

We the People.

The Establishment doesn't know what to do. They tried their pops stars, they've tried ther Hollywood stars, their climate chage scientists, their Sirs, Duhs and errs, they have tried their "teams", they have nothing left. Pundits are saying they are "out of ammo" on Trump.

Trump tells himself to "stay on point" and Trump fans laugh as they prefer the real Trump to the one the advisers and spinners want.

We the People.

Lweji · 03/11/2016 11:49

So, do you think we can trust polls now?

claig · 03/11/2016 11:56

Expect to see some Brexit style last minute polls telling us that the Establishment are leading by 99 points. Expect the Bank of Mars to say they will inflict a Punishment Budget on all the people on Earth if the American people dare to challenge them and elect Trump.

Expect Wall Street big shots - the Shark, the Whale, the Piranha, the whole lot of them - to place big money against Trump so that the compliant media can report that the betting markets are all against Trump (just like in Brexit).

Expect the JMF to issue dire warnings about the economy and the FU in Brussels to say that if the people elect Trump they will ensure that it is the end of Western Civilization.

Expect Sirs and Durrs and failed comedians and assorted pop stars just back from promoting pay for play charidees and elite Floundations to hold a last minute concert to try and stop Trump. Expect the media to give the luvvies wall to wall coverage as the Establisment pull out all the stops to stop the people.

Don't panic. Hold firm. We the People will not lose.

Lweji - now what were you saying about Putin? This guy is so right that everything else seems wrong:
