new thread. :)

But I have never heard a conspiracy theory so wild as the idea that the FBI is colluding with the Russians and the Republican party to throw this election

Surely it's not worse than the establishment, the elite and Davos all conspiring against Trump.
Oh, and the fake moon landings.

A) Russia has been meddling in this election
B) the Republican party is not happy to lose all Washington Houses.

fourmummy · 01/11/2016 14:36

Putin doesn't have true opposition

Agreed. But that doesn't negate the fact that he is popular. He could be the only one and unpopular. He's been good for Russia and there is little to no evidence of most of the stuff that he is routinely accused of (by US-linked narratives).

OhYouBadBadKitten · 01/11/2016 14:36

you know this discussion is entirely pointless because other than almost everyone agreeing that Clinton isn't a good candidate there seems to be no common ground.

There are those of us who think Trump is much worse and those who don't agree. We are quoting things back and forth at each other but nobody is changing their position.

It's a bit of a silly discussion really. WW and Claig etc can you and I just accept that we aren't going to persuade each other on this?

And can I post general stuff about the election without a nuanced dissection of every word I say? it's nice to talk without having to be so deeply analytical all the time. Sometimes people like to have opinions without arguing constantly.

WW, the media has addressed Clinton's issues too. It just hasn't overhyped and misrepresented them as much as Trump has.
There are so many Trump issues that many have been overlooked by now.
Has anyone seen his tax returns, per chance?

Lweji · 01/11/2016 14:39

He's been good for Russia

Has he?

Has he been good to you, too? Smile

Breadandwine · 01/11/2016 14:54

And why is nobody talking about Trump attending court in Dec, charged with raping a 13yr-old? OK, so everyone is innocent until proven innocent, but do we want to see a POTUS in court defending himself on such a charge? He should be tried as an ordinary citizen - and if he gets off, then he can stand in 2020.

WinchesterWoman · 01/11/2016 14:56

The media hasn't addressed Clinton's issues. Most people in the US would not have heard of Huma Abedin before about six days ago, for example. Most people don't know about Bleachbit. Most people wouldn't know anything about the Clinton's venality if they hadn't watched Clinton cash. When have you ever heard talk on pay to pay, the Clinton foundation, the connection with Saudi Arabia in the mainstream media? Every allegation or questionable issue has been dismissed as overhyped (see above) or dismissed by dint of the messenger (Breitbart) rather than investigated. And now look - it's all unfolding. Unfortunately for Clinton, a week too early.

WinchesterWoman · 01/11/2016 14:57

It's utterly ludicrous to imagine the media has dealt out even treatment. Even the Clinton camp acknowledges this.

SerendipityPhenomenon · 01/11/2016 15:44

Are you suggesting Clinton's record can be blithely ignored because she was?

No.

Any chance of answering my question, WW?

WinchesterWoman · 01/11/2016 15:49

So if you aren't ignoring it, why do you still want her in the White House?

Breadandwine · 01/11/2016 15:50

Just read back, and you're right, Kitten, no-one is going to persuade anyone of anything, anymore! Grin

So here's a bit of light relief from the Guardian's election blog.

"We've hit peak #FloridaMan: driving home from strip club, falls out of truck, runs himself over, truck hits house."

WinchesterWoman · 01/11/2016 15:52

And why is nobody talking about Trump attending court in Dec, charged with raping a 13yr-old

Believe me, they want to. They are right now doing everything they can to make this an election issue. The problem is, they are struggling. Links have already been posted showing the dubious origin of this allegation.

WinchesterWoman · 01/11/2016 15:54

BadKitten: absolutely no one will be persuaded, you're right.

It comes down to which is worse. I think Clinton is worse. For women, for America, for the world. You think Trump is worse, for women, for America, for the world.

What we can agree on is the more exposure of all information, the better.

WinchesterWoman · 01/11/2016 16:07

On the Trump rape allegation, I have thought about this, as I put the question myself on one of the earlier incarnations of these threads. I just couldn't understand why no one was talking about it.

In the weeks since, when they've put everybody in front of a camera they possibly could, I've thought they must be keeping it as a 'back pocket bombshell' - to bring out on November 6th.

It's this, or one of two other alternatives:
there's nothing in it, and it was a fishing expedition as they sought to find Trump victims
or
they are afraid to delve too deep because of Bill Clinton's relationship with Jeffrey Epstein.

The 'back pocket bombshell' is still a possibility given Clinton's dire straits right now. They might be willing to risk Bill Clinton's exposure because one or two days before the election, the media would have no time to investigate or highlight it, because of the focus on Trump.

That's my tuppenyworth.

fourmummy · 01/11/2016 16:22

He's been good for Russia. Has he?

If he hadn't been, wouldn't Russia be in a a bad way (refer back to the quote I posted up in a previous message. They seem to be doing OK) and wouldn't the people hate him?

Has he been good to you, too?
I don't have a dog in this - well, apart from my money on a Trump win (and a small concern over WW3 Wink). Ooh - Hillary's odds have just crashed. Has something happened now-ish ? Looks like something big's going on.

WinchesterWoman · 01/11/2016 16:30

What is it?just had a hunt. Unless it's a random poll showing donald trump in the lead 'for the first time' . I don't get it

mind you stocks movements show that they expect a change?

claig · 01/11/2016 16:33

A caller rang into the Rush Limbaugh show 4 days ago saying that he thinks that Kim DotCom may be the hacker and that Wikileaks may be about to dump the 33000 deleted emails and that is why Comey had to act and say they found some emails of Huma's husband's laptop.

www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2016/10/28/the_kim_dotcom_theory

WinchesterWoman · 01/11/2016 16:34

What's kimdotcom Claig

WinchesterWoman · 01/11/2016 16:40

Well that would confirm my theory that Hillary is being thrown under the bus to protect Obama you read it here first

claig · 01/11/2016 16:45

Kim Dotcom is that bloke in New Zealand who changed his name to DotCom, who used to run MegaUpload and who the US wants to extradite because that company sold a service where users could store movies and copyright files on its servers etc

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kim_Dotcom

Yes, that would tie up with your theory of Hillary being thrown under the bus to save Obama etc, if it is true.

slug · 01/11/2016 16:50

Kim Dotcom is the pretentious name of a convicted fraudster and insider trader who is currently fighting extradition from NZ to the States on fraud, money laundering and racketeering charges.

Fivethirtyeight.com, who have successfully predicted the outcome of every election since they came into existence, and whose statistical analysis is pretty thorough (hence the reliability of their predictions) is still predicting a 73.6% chance of a Hillary win

holeinyourhead · 01/11/2016 16:56

OK so now what. It all seemed boring and inevitable a week ago. New email leaks have flipped the odds completely. I am shitting myself. Anyone else fearing WWIII??

WinchesterWoman · 01/11/2016 16:59

Slug: Smile you must be very happy then

I fear WW3 less because Hillary Clinton might not win

claig · 01/11/2016 17:01

'Anyone else fearing WWIII??'

No danger of WWIII if Trump wins.

All sorts of conspiracy theories going around on the internet that the globalists may have to start a war with Russia over the next days as a distraction to save themselves and that Assange is dead etc But I doubt that will happen.

Rumours that the Clinton camp have tapes of Trump speaking with a biographer that may contain racist stuff. Rumours that racist stuff on Hillary may be coming out in next few days. Nobody knows, all rumours.

All we know is that the elites are desperate as Trump gets closer.

WinchesterWoman · 01/11/2016 17:04

The Council for Foreign Relations has been tamping for a Cold War since forever. Perhaps they think it's time everyone upped their game and made it real.
