new thread. :)

Why the double standards?

Serendipity, you are the voice of sanity on this mad, deluded thread. Smile

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe · 01/11/2016 11:12

You really can't see the forest because of the trees.

You are making it all about Putin and cementing his position.

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe · 01/11/2016 11:16

Stand up how?Fire the missiles?
Is that what you want?

Trump is idiotic, Hillary is too hawkish.
It's lose lose in this election.

fourmummy · 01/11/2016 11:20

He is actively working to destabilise the West.

What evidence are you basing this assertion on?

fourmummy · 01/11/2016 11:25

Lweji - google his popularity ratings. Whether we believe them or not, they provide a snapshot of his popularity in Russia (although there are recent drops in this).

Gumpendorf · 01/11/2016 11:30

Oh FFS, it's not a binary choice, but you need a President who can play hard ball and not run away.

Putin's influence in this election is pervasive - a candidate who has links to the Russian president and admires him would be unthinkable in the past.

And it's HRC who is a risk to national security. Really? really?

But let's focus away from Putin on Trumps's taxes
nyti.ms/2fcCtYO

On his own e-mail deletions

On his sexual behaviour ....

fourmummy · 01/11/2016 11:32

Why would Putin want to destabilise the West? What would he want to see in its place? More, er, westernisation?

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe · 01/11/2016 11:49

How is it not a binary choice?

You have Trump or Hillary? No one else has a real chance.

How is your hypothetical non Trump non Hillary president going to play hard ball? The troops are in Poland and the Baltic, we've done the sanctions, short of pulling the trigger what else will he/she do?
You don't want him to run away from what?

It's WW3 we're talking about.

WinchesterWoman · 01/11/2016 11:50

Of course you think it's overblown. So, basically you don't understand the email server issue perfectly.

WinchesterWoman · 01/11/2016 11:51

Suddenly the left are the new hawks. Need a president who can play hard ball?

Please.

Gumpendorf · 01/11/2016 12:05

WW: I'm not left ( or right) which makes me much less blinkered.

Binary choice between giving in or starting WW3. Do keep up, people.

And still no comments about other allegations against Trump. I wonder whether you would be as quiet about similar allegations being levelled at Clinton? No, wait I can read this thread.

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe · 01/11/2016 12:13

Keep up with what? You don't seem to answer a single question.

I don't know about Trump, I think he's a complete and utter disaster and I despair that he might get elected.

WinchesterWoman · 01/11/2016 12:13

Neither am I. And I see blinkers. We aren't just keeping up - we're way ahead.

SerendipityPhenomenon · 01/11/2016 12:55

Any chance of engaging with the somewhat serious issues involving Trump? Are you OK with sexual abuse, wiping emails and financial misconduct so long as it's Trump committing it?

WinchesterWoman · 01/11/2016 12:59

Are you ok with enabling Islamism, bleaching emails, allowing privileged government access to donors, selling government influence, harassing abuse victims, laughing at rape victims, enabling and excusing sexual abuse, endangering national security and financial misconduct so long as it's Clinton doing it?

OhYouBadBadKitten · 01/11/2016 13:05

Trump and emails

OP posts:
WinchesterWoman · 01/11/2016 13:06

What's happened here is that all those emails that seemed to have linked automatically to Weiner's laptop may very likely include some of the deleted emails. They were deleted for a reason. This is what the FBI have found, I believe. If Comey could have covered it up, he would have.

WinchesterWoman · 01/11/2016 13:07

Do those allegations pertain to the time when he was Secretary of State and selling government access to donors?

WinchesterWoman · 01/11/2016 13:10

www.washingtonexaminer.com/hillarys-hacks-try-to-change-the-subject-to-comey/article/260613

'No one can question the integrity and competence of Comey' says…. gosh senior Democrat Harry Reid. Who now thinks Comey's breaking the law when he's made exactly the same kind of announcement - but not in Reid's favour.

WinchesterWoman · 01/11/2016 13:12

Clinton emails

and Clinton hypocrisy, while you're there

SerendipityPhenomenon · 01/11/2016 13:13

Surely you aren't seriously suggesting that Trump's record can be blithely ignored purely because he wasn't Secretary of State at the time?

WinchesterWoman · 01/11/2016 13:15

Are you suggesting Clinton's record can be blithely ignored because she was?

Lweji · 01/11/2016 14:18

This is what the FBI have found, I believe

You seem to know more than the FBI.

WinchesterWoman · 01/11/2016 14:20

Just watching CNN. The media has scrupulously, fastidiously ignored Clinton security scandal, Clinton Foundation, Clinton abuse, Clinton harassment, Clinton corruption and Clinton access for donors. The media has scrupulously, fastidiously tried to raise every scrap of scandal about Donald Trump. It is happening now :they are accusing the GOP, the Russians and the Republican party of conspiring against Clinton. It's like a fantasy. The Clinton camp accuses others of 'conspiracy theorising' over 'the establishment'. But I have never heard a conspiracy theory so wild as the idea that the FBI is colluding with the Russians and the Republican party to throw this election. It is absolutely looney tune. This they will do in order to avoid any examination of the national security, the corruption, Abedin's Islamist links, the disastrous foreign policy, the venality, mendacity, the Clinton's wealth accumulation through pay to play, the Wall Street speeches, the hypocrisy.

Lweji · 01/11/2016 14:23

Lweji - google his popularity ratings. Whether we believe them or not, they provide a snapshot of his popularity in Russia
Sure.
The thing is Putin doesn't have true opposition. Because it has been, erm, discouraged.
