Fiderer · 28/10/2016 19:02

Maine is weird - such a small state and 2 CDs. I know, only 1 & 2 electoral votes but still, why the split?

Yes could google but more fun/informative asking here.

WinchesterWoman · 28/10/2016 19:04

Coney under pressure from Obama. Throwing hc under the bus to preserve his reputation.

claig · 28/10/2016 19:08

Breaking news from Trump speech. Crowd go wild. Victory draws nearer. FBI reopens investigation into Hillary's emails etc People may still win.

claig · 28/10/2016 19:09

Crowd shout "Lock her up". Elites in panic.

Crowd shout "Lock her up". Elites in panic

claig · 28/10/2016 19:11

Thanks, PipesTheGhost, just seen your post. Thanks for posting

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe · 28/10/2016 19:11

Bloody hell, now what!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 28/10/2016 19:13

Claig, I sometimes wonder if you have very many mini people in your head acting out scenes, or perhaps you are verbalising your play with playmobil characters?

'You have to accept that it is not easy for the people to beat the elites. I hope Trump does it, but if he doesn't make it, then we have to hope that one day someone else will stand up for the people and beat the elites.'

Yes, I think Trump has started something big, and he may not be the man for the job this time round, but in four years time the right man may come along and do what Trump started.

claig · 28/10/2016 19:39

'but in four years time the right man may come along and do what Trump started.'

I don't think there can be anyone else. It takes outstanding courage to be able to endure what Trump has gone through with puppets across the world wanting to ban him from entering the country, the media all against, world leaders all against him saying he is "unfit" etc. Only someone with outstanding confidence could take it and being a billionaire sets him above all the bought and paid for puppets which means he can take the blows. No bought and paid for politician would ever be capable of challenging real power. Only a dedicated billionaire with popular appeal and incredible confidence could do it and of course a sense of humour is the final thing needed to win the people over. That is why only Trump can do it.

WinchesterWoman · 28/10/2016 19:43

Ignore the insults claig

megletthesecond · 28/10/2016 19:44

"Playmobil" Grin

I'd be happier if the FBI story hadn't appeared this evening.

Inkanta · 28/10/2016 19:58

He was been the trail blazer, and I don't think things will ever be the same again. The electorate will want politics to evolve more in this way I'm sure (challenging the establishment), but I just think his personality is too brash and not presidential enough. I agree about the humour - he is funny - it's an asset.

LadyConstanceDeCoverlet · 28/10/2016 20:04

Elites in panic

Evidence?

fourmummy · 28/10/2016 20:12

Reagan was not considered presidential enough and Dubya's 'Bushims' are legendary.

WinchesterWoman · 28/10/2016 20:12

His braggadoccio would be tempered by office. Clinton's banality would be ...indulged.

WinchesterWoman · 28/10/2016 20:15

Or her venality. Whichever my tablet will allow me to post.

Claig: that video is nuts. He is a cheeky sod.

claig · 28/10/2016 20:25

'Reagan was not considered presidential enough'

Good point. They said similar things about Reagan at the time and the Republican Establishment (Bush and that lot) weren't keen on him at the time and I think he won a landslide even though he was behind in the polls for a long time.

'He is a cheeky sod.'

Absolutely. I think that is probably what it takes, enormous cheek to have the guts to take the risk of taking on real power.

Ross Perot was another billionaire populist with a great sense of humour and excellent speaking ability who took them on, but he pulled out. Conspiracy theories that he was there to defeat Bush and help Bill Clinton and/or his family may have been threatened.

WinchesterWoman · 28/10/2016 20:28

Trump put in ten million dollars to his campaign. Reported today. Would that be new money or a total?

claig · 28/10/2016 20:30

He said he had put in about 100 million dollars at a speech the other night, but he does tend to exaggerate, so it may be 10 million total.

fourmummy · 28/10/2016 20:43

What do you think the timing of the latest Clinton's e-mails debacle is all about? I agree with WW that they are trying to protect Obama, and they obviously couldn't keep a lid on it for much longer. So, is it something yuge, someone bought or something else?

PipesTheGhost · 28/10/2016 20:45

It's a very interesting 'development'.

WinchesterWoman · 28/10/2016 20:49

My uneducated guess is they alternative press and social media were picking up on Obama using a fake name to mail her, evidence he lied about when he knew about her server and possibly other national security 'indulgences'. These were starting to be picked up by msm columnists now the debates are over. Msm want to back cover from obvious and embarrassing bias and forestall claims that election was rigged by them. So Obama thinks he's better protect himself. And this is the easiest way. I think he cut a deal with comey to leave him alone if he would reopen Hillary.

What do you think?!

claig · 28/10/2016 20:54

' I agree with WW that they are trying to protect Obama, and they obviously couldn't keep a lid on it for much longer.'

Not sure. There is the whole thing about Obama emailing Hillary at her private email address etc and him having a disguised address, but if it is all reinvestigated then that might all come up again.

Roger Stone, one of Trump's friends, said that a decision like that would have had to go right to the top, to Obama, because Comey and Loretta Lynch etc all report to Obama. He said it may be Obama sticking the knife into Hillary right near the end as there is lots of talk that Obama can't stand the Clintons.
