Trump is inconsistent, he changes his positions and will probably do so again

Ri-ight. So if any politician you don't like changes their position, they are hypocritical and liars, whereas if Trump does it he's "inconsistent."

Does it ever occur to you, maybe in the wee small hours of the morning, that that is an indefensible and ridiculous position to take and that you could be deceiving yourself?

claig · 28/10/2016 18:03

I will "just chalk it up to life, conspiracy or the like", the same as when Farage was beaten in South Thanet

"Nigel Farage could end up an MP after all, after a judge said last year’s South Thanet result could be declared void.

It’s all to do with the Tory election spending scandal that’s been trundling along for the past month or so.

The Tories attempted to block Kent Police from extending their investigation into whether the party broke election spending limits in the battle against Farage for the South Thanet seat last year."

You have to accept that it is not easy for the people to beat the elites. I hope Trump does it, but if he doesn't make it, then we have to hope that one day someone else will stand up for the people and beat the elites.

claig · 28/10/2016 18:04

Of course, we beat them in Brexit and they never saw that coming. One day the people will win.

LadyConstanceDeCoverlet · 28/10/2016 18:10

So, claig, you're not going to address the hypocrisy issue other than by reference to blocking your ears and not having heard people say Trump is a hypocrite?

claig · 28/10/2016 18:11

'Ignore the sneering elites - Donald Trump can win '

www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2016/05/07/ignore-the-sneering-elites---donald-trump-can-win/

There will never be another Trump. This is the biggest challenge the elite worldwide has ever faced and they are petrified. Never again will there be someone with such courage to tell the truth about the vessels of the "corrupt global establishment" and all their "crookedness".

Trump is not a politician, he is a billionaire who is totally fearless and has taken the whole lot on for the people. It will take centuries and centuries before anyone else ever dares to do the same again. We will never see it.

Forget Corbyn, forget Farage, they are all jokes compared to Trump and the elite know it.

If Trump fails to beat them, they will have won and they will implement their global open border plans and all the rest they have up their sleeves.

Lweji · 28/10/2016 18:13

One day the people will win.

They have before.
The Russian revolution.
The Chinese revolution.
Cuba.
Mussolini.
Venezuela.

Oh, wait.

Sometimes the people make bad choices. (Either through vote or other means)

LadyConstanceDeCoverlet · 28/10/2016 18:14

Here you go, claig, now you've heard Trump being referred to as hypocritical.

And here, here, and here

claig · 28/10/2016 18:16

No, most of those things are financed by super rich elites who control the people they put into power. The Russian revolution was not the people.

claig · 28/10/2016 18:17

Democracy is for the people, not tyrannical dictatorships like Mussolini or the Bolsheviks etc

LadyConstanceDeCoverlet · 28/10/2016 18:17

claig, it's a bit desperate when you have to rely on an article claiming Trump can win that is dated 8th May. An awful lot of Trump lies, misogyny and stupidities have flowed into the airwaves since then.

claig · 28/10/2016 18:18

'Trump now characterizes the Clinton Foundation as a “vast criminal enterprise” even though in the past, he has made donations to the foundation'

That is not hypocrisy. Trump didn't know what it was all about when he made a donation.

WinchesterWoman · 28/10/2016 18:21

There is plenty of evidence for what you say claig, and plenty of evidence of a media cover up if only by omission.

LadyConstanceDeCoverlet · 28/10/2016 18:22

You do know that Mussolini came to power democratically, claig? As, indeed, did Hitler. Are the people always infallible?

WinchesterWoman · 28/10/2016 18:23

Trumps flaws will be tempered by office. Clintons flaws will be exacerbated by office.

LadyConstanceDeCoverlet · 28/10/2016 18:23

Right, claig, so you think just one of several examples of Trump's conduct did not amount to hypocrisy. I take it therefore that you accept that all the others do.

claig · 28/10/2016 18:24

'You do know that Mussolini came to power democratically, claig? '

No, he didn't. The Black Shirts marched on Rome and took power.

LadyConstanceDeCoverlet · 28/10/2016 18:25

No, Trump's flaws will not be tempered by office. Our best hope is that he will be stopped by the Senate from doing at least some of the damage he wants to inflict, but even that will mean four years of stalemate - which isn't in anyone's interests.

WinchesterWoman · 28/10/2016 18:26

Possibly muddling with hitler

PipesTheGhost · 28/10/2016 18:26

BBC breaking news (can't link on my phone) FBI re opening HC email probe.

PipesTheGhost · 28/10/2016 18:27

Thought you might be interested Claig

LadyConstanceDeCoverlet · 28/10/2016 18:28

The Blackshirts didn't take power, they were appointed under the Italian constitution following the resignation of the previous government, and they ruled initially under a coalition of right-wing parties. Mussolini's power was endorsed by the legislature.

Lweji · 28/10/2016 18:29

Democracy is for the people, not tyrannical dictatorships like Mussolini or the Bolsheviks etc

They didn't get to power without public support, though.
The bolsheviks were against the elites too and for the people.
The pattern is there.

Lweji · 28/10/2016 18:30

Trumps flaws will be tempered by office. Clintons flaws will be exacerbated by office.

That's just laughable, and you know it.
Nobody's flaws are tempered by power.

Lweji · 28/10/2016 18:32

Trump didn't know what it was all about when he made a donation.

Did you ever read the part where he hasn't made a donation (and small) since 2008 to his own foundation?
He just gives other people's money, and often to himself or his own companies.
Not very hypocritical, no.
