I think not claig.

Link me to insults he has fielded at mens looks, bodies, weight... when has he called a man fat, ugly, a pig, a 'piece of ass', (or the equivalent) and now talking of grabbing women by the pussy...

And you say he denigrates men equally?

claig · 08/10/2016 17:45

You are right he insults them differently, calls them 'nut jobs', sleazes, stiffs etc

It is going crazy now. I think they want Trump to step down before he can say anything at tomorrow's debate

Heck is getting booed as he says Trump should step down. "I'm so disappointed in you," one yells.
This is what the Republicans have wrought.

TRUMP ON THE BRINK:

Leading Rs abandon, demand party save downballot

OP posts:
claig · 08/10/2016 17:50

If the Republicans abandon Trump they will probably be wiped out at the ballot because Trump fans won't vote for them, which shows that this is really all about stopping Trump rather than saving themselves at the ballot.

There is no comparison claig and well you know it. His insults are aimed at demeaning women as a whole. He is not doing that to men.

There is a rush of his party urging him to step down. Interesting times...

claig · 08/10/2016 17:54

'Interesting times...'

Yes. If they don't stop him before tomorrow's debate, he will probably spill the beans in the debate.

OP posts:
Roussette · 08/10/2016 17:56

He has gone too far and surely there is no coming back from this whatever the beans are? Speaking as a total amateur of course...

claig · 08/10/2016 17:59

They don't want Trump to make it to the election and let the public decide, the insiders want to force him out now. They are worried that he might win, they don't want to risk it.

But Trump said today

"they are not going to make me quit, I will never quit"

So who knows what will happen now. They have written Trump off loads of times and he is still here.

You've got tenacity claig I'll give you that

claig · 08/10/2016 18:05

And perspicacity Wink

ImperialBlether · 08/10/2016 18:10

I wouldn't say that, claig!

Are you perspicacious enough to discern that Trump is a disgusting sleaze who is certainly unfit for the Presidency?

WinchesterWoman · 08/10/2016 18:46

I think what it comes down to for a lot of voters is they hate Clinton and they think Trump is utterly loathsome. But while they also hate what Clinton stands for, they don't hate what Trump stands for. Somebody said on the other thread it's a battle of globalism vs patriotism/nationalism. (nationalism as in, nation state and social contract being the best way to organise govt and economic policy rather that the fluidity of globalism and open borders). I think it was Ella (who was a Clinton supporter)? Anyway I think they're right. For a lot of people it is that.

claig · 08/10/2016 18:59

'I think it was Ella (who was a Clinton supporter)?'

It was fourmummy on this thread at Sat 08-Oct-16 16:53:44

Yes, the main thing in this election is nativism vs globalism. The globalists and capitalists are scared of Trump because he said in his major foreign policy speech

"We will no longer surrender this country or its people to the false song of globalism"

OP posts:
WinchesterWoman · 08/10/2016 19:01

Oh well I thought it was well observed. The Trump campaign (and you can't deny this Claig) is getting to the stage where some are saying 'never mind the man - he'll be dead soon anyway - look at what they both stand for'. Because they know it's such a rallying cry.

claig · 08/10/2016 19:03

Hillary doesn't want to talk about the issues of jobs, trade, bank bailouts, the economy etc because Trump wins on those. that is why her team are busy finding every sexist, racist or bigoted statement he has made over the past 30 years as a way of deflecting from the economy, trade, jobs, Iraq, Syria, Libya etc and Trump is not helping by not focusing on those issues.

OP posts:
claig · 08/10/2016 19:08

'Because they know it's such a rallying cry.'

Yes, real Republicans do not want a Hillary win because of the Supreme Court nominations, the extension of globalism and the loss of US jobs and sovereignty, the risk of even more wars, the rising deficit and declining trade situation as well as more squeezing of wages etc. On top of that there are all the social changes like gender neutral bathrooms in schools, more illegal immigration etc

The Establishment Republicans don't care because they are in the pockets of the rich donors. Their donors want Trump out.

Trump is a bully and a coward. Women are an easier target for him. That explains what you need to know about why he doesn't assault men.

WinchesterWoman · 08/10/2016 19:10

The Supreme Court nomination is the reason I would support a Hillary win. The issue of abortion rights is valuable. Would Trump put a pro-abortion judge in the Supreme Court if Pence was his VP? I doubt it.

claig · 08/10/2016 19:14

' I doubt it.'

I doubt it too. Judge Antonin Scalia died a few months ago and was a conservative judge and Trump wants to replace him with another conservative judge so that the makeup of teh Supreme Court would remain as it was before he died. The rest of the Republicans want that too.

OP posts:
WinchesterWoman · 08/10/2016 19:14

I've got to say at this point that if it was up to me I wouldn't vote for her for all sorts of reasons. I wouldn't vote for him, because he personally is a rather a disgusting and possibly stupid individual. I'd probably leave the country.

WinchesterWoman · 08/10/2016 19:16

Plus, I think they're both criminals. Basically, there'll be a criminal in the White House in January. That's not much of a choice. It's what kind of criminal you can least abhor.

CousinCharlotte · 08/10/2016 19:18

I concur WinchesterWoman what a choice Hmm

CorkieD · 08/10/2016 19:38

I hate to say it but many white blue-collar voters in the US seem to hanker back to the 'good ol' days'.

Hispanics, Asian-Americans, African Americans, immigrants, females, faced severe discrimination. Simply being a white, anglo-saxon male was enough to practically guarantee a high standard of living as this was attained via the exploitation of the groups above. Achieving a good level of education or skill set was not a requirement.

claig · 08/10/2016 20:17

The IMF have been meeting in Washington. They are as panicked as the rest of the world's elite over Trump.

A couple of good twitter accounts to look at
for a pro Trump perspective, the excellent lauraingraham who says this isthe same media, on behaf of the globalists, who ignored the women
who accused Bill Clinton

and for an anti Trump NeverTrump Republican perspective, LouiseMensch is good because she is a NeverTrumper and knows what is going on with the NeverTrumpers who are now desperately trying to get Trump to withdraw.
