I would have thought they would be showing more compassion for a repressed minority but the opposite is happening

and Netanyahu saying they told the Palestinians to leave because they were going to be fired on...where the bloody hell would they go to?? IF THEY COULD GO AT ALL

Israeli spin will no doubt work over time to blame the kids for being outdoors. 200,000 people told to evacuate tonight. Only they have nowhere to go. And israel know this.

How did the israeli ambassador blame the deaths on the brutal regime of hamas with a straight face? I feel like I'm in a very very scary surreal real life version of hunger games. Every Child is a target.

Well they haven't done much to protect them with their millions bar purchase more rockets...

runes · 28/07/2014 22:33

wannabe wtaf is wrong with you?? Israel ISRAEL are KILLING hundreds of innocent children. I don't give a flying fuck what Hamas do or don't do. I know that Israel are murdering thousands and it is fucking unbearable to watch the world do nothing and people like you defend Netanyahu. UnbefuckinglieveableAngry Angry Angry

Backinthering · 28/07/2014 22:37

Israel is deliberately terrorising Gaza to punish them for voting in Hamas. I agree with runes, I am past sick of hearing about Hamas when I and everyone else can see whose bombs have killed nearly 200 children.

ssd · 28/07/2014 22:39

wannabe, your argument starting with "well" seems like you're spitting the dummy out

this is a lot more serious than that

OP posts:
littlecloud · 28/07/2014 22:44

so sorry wrong thread

wannabestressfree · 28/07/2014 22:48

So I am spitting the dummy...... What does that make the one after?

Pangurban · 28/07/2014 22:51

Well Gaza or the West Bank didn't get the funding and the technology from the US for an iron dome missile system like the Israelis. What's that 700million US dollars funding and counting all the time, heading towards a billion US dollars. Israel also receive/have received billions and billions of US taxpayers dollars in funding, lots of military stuff now.

PigletJohn · 28/07/2014 23:39

sergeantmajor

you allege "And then PigletJohn pipes up with the hate-filled and fallacious assertion that Israel would try and destroy it."

Be so kind as to indicate what you think you are talking about.

wannabestressfree · 29/07/2014 06:55

Well I thinks it's 'unfuckingbeleavable' that seemingly well educated people are a. Unable to allow two sided debate without throwing insults b. Except that Israel has reasons (however justifiable) for doing what it's doing.

Not ONCE have I said the murder of children is ok. WHOEVER they are!

Springheeled · 29/07/2014 08:22

wannabestressfree you're (Israeli apologists, not 'you' personally- before you get all bothered) sounding more desperate all the time, and it's because you know full well your arguments in this debate are logically flawed, morally vacuous and don't hold up to scrutiny.

Rather than getting upset about 'insulted' you ought to get upset about the world that is being created for our children by Israel and its backers- which is more of the same, ramped up several levels: Terrorism more, not less, likely, the laughter of children worth less than a contract to manufacture drone parts; fear, hatred and ignorance stirred up to justify $$$ on military spending rather than spending on welfare, etc. George Orwell knew: a boot stamping on a human face forever

halfdrunkcoffee · 29/07/2014 08:58

PigletJohn - SergeantMajor was referring to the following statement:

dingalong Sat 26-Jul-14 12:09:13

Just to add, if I was a world leader, I'd declare Palestine a zero corporation tax zone. I'd set up a fund for Palestinian joint ventures with other people. I'd encourage great industries to set up there with good working conditions for people. I'd have a compensation fund to allow people to build nice homes and apartments.

I'd build great schools and universities and offer bursaries around the world to top universities.

I'd let them see that the world sees them as equal to israel. And when they have a land worth living in, they've good schools, universities, businesses and hospitals which they're proud of and want to protect, the fighting would stop.

Anyone whose land was taken from them would get compensation to enable them to start again albeit in a different place

halfdrunkcoffee · 29/07/2014 08:59

OP, I was wondering if you could ask MNHQ to move this thread to a different section, as there are some interesting links and it would be a shame for it to be deleted after 90 days.

PigletJohn · 29/07/2014 09:04

thank you, halfdrunkcoffee.

And my point is that Israel is in the habit of bombing homes, hospitals and schools, as well as beaches and parks.

It has done it before and is doing it now, therefore I was making the point that, looking at Israel's past and current performance, we can do no more than to expect it to do the same in future.

This is not a fallacious assertion.

Neither is it a hate-filled assertion. It however an assertion based on experience and absence of hope for a change in Israel's activities.

Pangurban · 29/07/2014 09:23

Maybe based on experience, it is premature to think that Israel would allow all the people with expertise and building materials into blockaded Gaza in the first place. A lot of materials aren't allowed in now, never mind at the level needed to transform the country. Wouldn't get as far as having this revamped area to bomb. Those going on those scholarships have to be allowed out of their blockaded country --and back in== .

ssd · 29/07/2014 13:43

Halfdrunkcoffee, yes I.ll ask them

OP posts:
forago · 29/07/2014 15:41

I think the only good thing that could come out of this hideous atrocity is that it looks like Israel have finally succeeded in turning everyone else against them and their so-called cause. I was fairly ambivalent before and naively thought both sides had a right to live in the region. Now I find it disgusting that the Israelis have set about sytematically trying to destroy Gaza - despicable behaviour. I don't care how "backward" or "Hamas-supporting" the Palestinians in Gaza are or whether a militant faction is firing rockets out of schools - murdering young children on swings (who, imo, have no religion or politics yet) is despicable. And constantly astounding to me that the people doing it are a group that experienced attempted genocide themeselves. It's the Israelis who are the savages now in my opinion.

I wonder how much longer the apologists can go on justifying this carnage. Shameful.

there has been the most awful abuse today, by people claiming that criticisms of the actions of the state of Israel, prove the person to be anti-semitic. I suppose this is a ploy to intimidate and silence critics.

After two particularly vile lies I have offered a substantial cash reward to anyone who can show them to be true. My money remains safe.

ThunderbumsMum · 29/07/2014 19:10

More lies from you, pigletjohn. But I think most sensible people have decided to ignore the inane rankings on this thread, myself included

PigletJohn · 29/07/2014 19:18

I really wish you would ignore me, instead of following me around and making up the most vile lies.

You should be ashamed of yourself.
