Why are ukip so bad?

Apologies for the thread title, it probably makes me seem very thick and uninformed (although I am!)

I have read a lot on mumsnet about ukip and the general consensus of them is that they're idiots and so are the people voting for them. From what I've read on google I've only found information about them wanting to abolish inheritance tax and national insurance, but of course many of the pages on the Internet have not detailed all their policies.

I'm afraid to say I have no clue about politics and have ashamedly never voted before. Everytime I see someone posting on Facebook I about how they support ukip my first thought is "silly", just from what I've read on mumsnet.

Could someone please list their policies for me? I have heard that they are for scrapping maternity leave and holiday pay but I've not read anything about this on google. Basically I'm just wanting to know why the major population of mumsnet hate ukip, so that I feel justified in my opinion of "silly" ukip supporters!

Power for the people? I am 'the people' what is ukip going to do for me?

claig · 16/05/2014 23:28

It is going to sweep the puppets out and give you and everyone else a voice. Ordinary people will be in power, no more puppets. Scams will end, spinners will no longer be listened to, public money will no longer be wasted by fat cats and cronies in phony charidees and publicly funded quangos.

claig · 16/05/2014 23:33

Tomorrow's newspaper headlines
"Scandal of NHS chiefs' £166 million bonuses".

All of this type of thing will come to an end. Chums, charlies and bums will be out on their ears. No more squeezing the "squeezed middle" to pay for cronies and their schemes. Luvvies and the metropolitan elite will no longer be able to cheat. The gravy train will grind to a halt. The people will come first, not the puppets.

claig · 16/05/2014 23:39

No more taxpayer subsidies to the landed aristocracy to erect "wind turbines" (rooftop or otherwise) on their estates.

BoulevardOfBrokenSleep · 16/05/2014 23:41

Y'see, claig, that's lovely oratory, but the actual UKIP policies, like a flat tax, are going to squeeze the lower and middle classes more.

And no-one's been exploiting a gravy train more than the UKIP MEPs, claiming their expenses wothout actually turning up to do their job

BoulevardOfBrokenSleep · 16/05/2014 23:44

Also, I saw this:

www.irishtimes.com/news/politics/crown-denies-farage-his-pint-but-ukip-leader-remains-unfazed-1.1795645

and thought of you.

Farage went for a pint in the historic (and v lovely) Crown Bar in Belfast. When they said he couldn't film there - note, not that he couldn't drink there, just not film - he went to the much less lovely and much more expensive Europa Hotel across the road.

Yeah. No spin here.

ravenAK · 16/05/2014 23:48

There are actual UKIP policies?!

Must be at least 6 threads on UKIP over the last month, & no-one has been able to find any policies. Lots of unpleasant things their candidates have said that apparently aren't the official line, & a 2010 manifesto that their leader has described as 'drivel', but nothing you could dignify with the name of 'policy'.

If UKIP actually reflected 'the people', the best thing we could do is handover to the dolphins & see if they could do a better job.

VeryStressedMum · 16/05/2014 23:49

Oh right. What do you mean ordinary people will be in power?

TheNightIsDark · 16/05/2014 23:49

Claig are you on glue? I'm sure you were all pro-Tory last time you were copying and pasting everywhere.

claig · 16/05/2014 23:49

We don't yet know what their policies are. Remember that the last manifesto was written by a Conservative, whom Farage described as an "idiot". I don't think there are many "idiots" left in UKIP now.

UKIP want to take the low-paid out of taxation. They will save lots of our taxpayer money. The cronies, the chums and their charidees won't be able to waste it anymore, so they will be able to reduce taxes for everyone.

UKIP is full of ordinary people. They won't be squeezing the people. That is why the spinners and chums are in overdrive in a desperate attempt to stop the people's party. They know that their game is over.

UKIP will eventually end the Euro gravy train. As Farage said, they are "turkeys voting for Christmas", and there will no more presents from the public to the cronies and the chums. That is why they are all diving and ducking, clucking and chucking the kitchen sink at the people in an attempt to stop the people's party.

TheNightIsDark · 16/05/2014 23:50

Or was it pro Clegg? Either way you hadn't jumped on the UKIP bandwagon I don't think.

claig · 16/05/2014 23:51

'I'm sure you were all pro-Tory last time you were copying and pasting everywhere'

That was a different era - over 1 year ago.
But I, like millions of others, have had enough. The chums are not real conservatives.

ravenAK · 16/05/2014 23:51

I'd have a pint of whatever claig's on, except I've got a pile of paperwork to get through in the morning...

VeryStressedMum · 16/05/2014 23:52

Raven, no policies that I've heard about, I have no idea what ukip plan to do if they ever get into power. But nth I don't think ukip themselves know what they plan to do should they ever get into power....

claig · 16/05/2014 23:54

I was never pro Clegg - the progressive climate change enthusiast.

I, like millions of others, voted UKIP last year when all the spinners and puppets mocked the people on their news shows and TV debates.

VeryStressedMum · 16/05/2014 23:55

How are they going to take the low paid out of taxation? And how are they going to save lots of tax payer money?
Also who are the chums?

claig · 16/05/2014 23:56

'I'd have a pint of whatever claig's on'

Mineral water. The people's drink. The chums wanted to introduce "minimum alcohol pricing" to price the people out of it.

claig · 17/05/2014 00:01

Haven't you heard about Cameron's chumocracy? The Etonian Bullingdon buffoons who wanted to introduce "minimum alcohol pricing" for the plebs, while they claimed for bath plugs from the "squeezed middle".

VeryStressedMum · 17/05/2014 00:02

So the people's drink is mineral water, but 'the people' didn't like it because the chums (still don't know who they are) wanted to price the people out of buying alcohol. The people don't care about alcohol, their drink is mineral water Confused

TheNightIsDark · 17/05/2014 00:02

Claig, are you sure it's water?

Who are the 'chums'? Do you honestly believe UKIP are going to give people the power? They're going to get us out of the EU, destroy our trade, strip us of our human rights and there will be fuck all any of us can do about it because we will be out of the EU. They are worrying. They are not your friends, they are not going to wave a magic wand and fix anything. They are jumped up twats with no real policies and abhorrent views on the world, especially for women.

claig · 17/05/2014 00:05

'And how are they going to save lots of tax payer money?'

They are going to slash the quangos. All those useless Labour luvvies will be out of jobs. We will save mlllions. Some UKIP strategists have even said it will save us billions. There will be no more taxpayer money from hardworking people going to "save the planet" by combatting the flatulence of Colombian cattle. If the chums want to spend money on that, they can do so out of their own pockets, not with the hardworking public's money.

ravenAK · 17/05/2014 00:05

Grin. I'm never sure if your MN persona is an elaborate & well-maintained hoax, claig, but enjoy your mineral water bubbles.

How very dare the Bullingdon buffoons try to overprice the alcohol in it. They'll be wanting you to pay to park your pink elephant next.

VeryStressedMum · 17/05/2014 00:05

Claig, I would take Cameron's Etonian buffoons over Farages friend who wants to shoot gay people!
Can't wait to see what it government will be like with people like that in it.

claig · 17/05/2014 00:07

'The people don't care about alcohol, their drink is mineral water'

The people like them both. As the great people's champion always used to say
"If it's good enough for the bosses, then it's good enough for the workers"

So "if it's good enough for the chums, then it's good enough for the people"

claig · 17/05/2014 00:08

Sorry, the people's champion was the great Bob Crowe
