Hello to all you #frothers
Thought I'd take the liberty of starting us a nice new thread as the other is getting rather full. :)

OP posts:
MmeLindor. · 05/12/2011 21:26

Right. Almost finished the about us page. Can you all have a look and tell me if you want it changed.

Should it be shorter?

What aims should I add?

here

blackoutthexmaslights · 05/12/2011 21:27

see with my sil she seems to think that because so many people are out of work she can offer peanuts because ' they should be lucky to have a job'

she went off in a mood when i told her that i hated that saying and people who used it are knobs Grin

blackoutthexmaslights · 05/12/2011 21:30

it looks good to me Grin

CardyMow · 05/12/2011 21:31

Grin. Just stating facts - a 4 week temp contract would be MADNESS to come off JSA for - in fact, thinking about it - you can't claim Tax Credits unless you think the job is going to last (6 weeks?) or more - give me a second and I'll check the time on that - I know there is a bit where you have to expect the job to last for ....... time, but not entirely sure how long.

FontSnob · 05/12/2011 21:33

That's great mme I only managed to upload the higher res image for the logo, and you're right, it is better than the other way around. Hope I didn't tamper with the size of it too much.

TeWiharaMeriKirihimete · 05/12/2011 21:33

Perhaps in aim add something to do with support for people scared by cuts affecting them?

TeWiharaMeriKirihimete · 05/12/2011 21:34

I really like what you've got so far.

CardyMow · 05/12/2011 21:34

Yes, definately 6 weeks. You have to expect the work to last for 6 weeks or more, or you are unable to claim Tax Credits. I would hazard a guess that that is the main reason why she is unable to fill those posts, especially if she is paying minimum wage of £6.09/hr.

blackoutthexmaslights · 05/12/2011 21:37

how did you guess it was NMW? Grin

TeWiharaMeriKirihimete · 05/12/2011 21:39

Why doesn't she advertise to students/local colleges etc? They might do 4 weeks over christmas. (If she can put up with them turning up hungover Wink)

CardyMow · 05/12/2011 21:40

Because if it was even £1/hr more - she might not have quite so much difficulty filling the posts. Grin

blackoutthexmaslights · 05/12/2011 21:50

meh i've given up on her now, at least she has pissed off

can you tell i've sil issues

MmeLindor. · 05/12/2011 21:50

Wow. We have had 1050 page views today my lovely fellow frothers.

That is massive for a blog of just 5 days (unless you are someone like Caitlin Moran).

Well done, everyone.

TeWiharaMeriKirihimete · 05/12/2011 21:54

The author Ian Gilbert just tweeted about us too. - the Gove article.

I haven't got any 'action' points for that article, I don't really know what can be done, does anyone know?

MmeLindor. · 05/12/2011 22:02

Norfolk
Someone on Twitter just asked about this part of your post

Due to their status it means that the Burgundy Book (the colloquial term for the STPCD ? school teacher?s pay and conditions document) can not only be thrown out of the window but put through the shredder and used for 4C?s hamster bedding.

She said "Burgundy book and STPCD two different documents."

I have no idea about this, can you clarify?

blackoutthexmaslights · 05/12/2011 22:03

wow 1050 views

AnyFuckerForAMincePie · 05/12/2011 22:04

KnottyLocks · 05/12/2011 22:07

Ian Gilbert...my effort on Twitter paid off. Hoobloodyrah.
He's got a thousand or more followers. Highly respected in education.

And he's rather cute too. Grin

blackoutthexmaslights · 05/12/2011 22:08

AnyFuckerForAMincePie · 05/12/2011 22:09
