You Tory scum voters were warned but did you listen ? oh no you new better now society is being badly damaged the same as during the bitch Thatchers years.

Will Ghost Town be number 1 again because it seens like 1981 has returned with a vengance.

One question, the financial crash must be the Tories fault after all they blamed Brown for the last one, or maybe the Tory filth is wrong about Brown as they are in so very many things.

No where is my "I didnt vote Tory" badge.

there are lots of rich and famous drug addicts, and the drug barons are not poor. Just like some of the people jailed at past demos have come from wealthy backgrounds, I think we will see that some of the arrests here are of people who are not poor.

Your sociological analysis continues to be poor. Famous drug addicts don't have to go to work from 9-5 or get fired and lose their livelihood. They have better access to support and healthcare, unlike the poorest. They get their drugs delivered to their home after ordering from a phone and credit card, or given to them by their agent - they don't have to go into dodgy neighbourhoods and deal with crack addict dealers.

claig · 09/08/2011 01:47

Some famous drug addicts die of their addiction. It's not a bed of roses for the rich addicts. Some are stoned out of their heads, commit violent acts at demos and go to prison.

'Famous drug addicts don't have to go to work from 9-5 or get fired and lose their livelihood.'

My guess is that some of the blackberry brigade looters don't have to do those things either. Some don't even cover their faces. They don't care what their 'employer' might think.

claig · 09/08/2011 01:50

It's not black and white, socialist and right, poor good, rich bad. It's more complex that that. It's different to what Ken Livingstone says.

ttosca · 09/08/2011 01:56

Oh for God's sake, claig, please stop it with your socialist this, socialist that. Get over it.

The problems in this world are, on the whole, not caused by socialists, but Capitalists. Socialists aren't in charge, nor are the poor. The Capitalists and the rich are in charge. Direct your anger at them.

claig · 09/08/2011 01:59

The capitalists aren't burning people out of their homes and looting businesses. I see socialists on TV telling the public that this is happening due to government cuts, the same government cuts they were planning to make. I object to hypocrites who hide the truth from the public for their own political ends.

claig · 09/08/2011 02:05

Do you think that the 14 year old looters, the 9 year old rioters and teh blackberry brigade would uncover their faces and stop looting if the government announced that there would be no cuts for those communities? If you believe that, then a socialist must be pulling your leg.

BitOfFun · 09/08/2011 02:11

Gabby, you are doing the cause of rationality no favours here.

debivamp · 09/08/2011 02:18

You are right this is far wider than just politics. This is down to a total and utter loss of respect. This is about a society based on commercialism, where people want everything now rather than waiting. Where it is more important to have the latest designer clothes or mobile phone. This is about parents not raising their children properly and teaching them respect for themselves, for others, for property and for the police etc. What are the parents doing? Why are they allowing their kids out on the streets?

claig · 09/08/2011 02:21

You are right debivamp. The black youth worker on Newsnight, Shaun Bailey, was fantastic and had the answers and correct understanding. It was so refreshing to hear the truth and he showed up the socialist politicians like Livingstone delivering their crass political platitudes.

ttosca · 09/08/2011 02:27

The capitalists aren't burning people out of their homes and looting businesses. I see socialists on TV telling the public that this is happening due to government cuts, the same government cuts they were planning to make. I object to hypocrites who hide the truth from the public for their own political ends.

The capitalists are causing far wider destruction. They're causing governments to wage wars killing hundreds of thousands of people. They're causing global environmental disaster. They're causing global financial meltdown. They're destroying people's standard of living by attacking their work rights and wages. They're destroying democracy, by making sure governments act in the interest of corporations and the rich rather than the public. They confining millions of people to poverty and a lifetime of lack of opportunity through their destructive policies.

As the rich are getting richer and richer and wealth inequality grows to obscene levels not seen since the Victorian era, you still find breath to blame 'the socialists' for societies ills.

You're blind and a hypocrite.

ttosca · 09/08/2011 02:29

It was so refreshing to hear the truth and he showed up the socialist politicians like Livingstone delivering their crass political platitudes.

What platitudes? That social deprivation causes social unrest?

You think 'analysis' of the kind you spout, and the nonsense Teresa May spouts at infinitum about 'Absolutely no excuse for violence' is a clear sociology or political analyisis?

Do you think just repeating 'there is no excuse for violence' brings society any bit closer to solving our problems?

ttosca · 09/08/2011 02:31

Do you think that the 14 year old looters, the 9 year old rioters and teh blackberry brigade would uncover their faces and stop looting if the government announced that there would be no cuts for those communities? If you believe that, then a socialist must be pulling your leg.

Of course not, because they would still be in the same situation they were before the cuts; 50% unemployment, no jobs, no future, poor health, poor education, still paying for bailing out the banks so they can award themselves millions in public money.

claig · 09/08/2011 02:35

Wasn't it socialist Tony Blair that took us into those wars? Wasn't it the socialists who allowed the City 'light touch regulation'? Aren't the socialists masters of spin? Ordinary people in London are being burnt out of their homes by rampaging, looting mobs and all the socialist spinners can say is that this is due to government cuts. When will you cotton on to their spin? Didn't the 'dodgy dossier' show you that they weren't the 'straight kinda guys' they claimed to be? Listen to the people on the news reports. They want protection, they say they are sitting ducks. They want action, not more socialist spin.

debivamp · 09/08/2011 02:36

In many respects this has been building since the 1980?s with the introduction of the me, me, me attitude. These idiots on the streets are not interested in politics they just want ?stuff? and don?t care how they get it. It is all about me. ? Have to go now off to get a new mobile and laptop. Keep safe.

claig · 09/08/2011 02:39

'You think 'analysis' of the kind you spout'

No I think the analysis of the excellent Shaun Bailey on Newsnight is a correct analysis, not the socialist spin of Livingstone.

'Do you think just repeating 'there is no excuse for violence' brings society any bit closer to solving our problems?'

I never said that. I think that is spin. I think the people deserve protection, not empty rhetoric.

claig · 09/08/2011 02:42

Good night all. Keep safe debivamp.

ttosca · 09/08/2011 02:44

You're such a FOOL, claig. New Labour are not and never were socialists. Socialists, by definition don't deregulate banking, ffs.

You're hatred of New Labour and these imaginary 'socialists' in your head completely drain your head of any sense.

We have a one party system - the pro-business party, Claig. There are no socialists in power in the UK. If there are any socialist MPs left, they are a tiny minority and have almost no influence on social and political policy.

You are living in cloud cuckoo land.

claig · 09/08/2011 02:48

But if there is no difference between right and wrong, between the right and the socialists, then why is the excellent Shaun Bailey's understanding of what is happening so different from the socialist Livingstone's understanding? Why does the socialist Livingstone maintain that it is due to government cuts and the excellent Shaun Bailey says it is no such thing. I think Shaun is right and Livingstone is socialist.

ttosca · 09/08/2011 02:50

"This is what happens when young people take their lessons from the great and the powerful. When the police are crooked, the newspapers are crooked, the City is crooked and the government is crooked, you shouldn't be surprised if ordinary kids draw the same conclusion."

claig · 09/08/2011 02:52

I agree that on many issues we really only have one party, as the socialists work for the capitalists. But there are issues where the socialists are allowed to differ, and on those issues they are wrong and Shaun Bailey is right.

claig · 09/08/2011 02:55

'When the police are crooked, the newspapers are crooked, the City is crooked and the government is crooked, you shouldn't be surprised if ordinary kids draw the same conclusion."

Do you think the 14 year old looters watch the news? Do you think they watched Murdoch in front of the parliamentary committee? Is that when they decided to mask up?

niceguy2 · 09/08/2011 10:13

Welcome back Newwave! Where've you been? I've missed your leftie socialist claptrap all spouted from the comfort and safety of riches you've managed to aquire in a capitalist world.

claig · 09/08/2011 10:33

Here is more socialist spin on events. Watch Murdoch's Sky News to see the real picture.

Do you think the 14 year old looters watch the news? Do you think they watched Murdoch in front of the parliamentary committee? Is that when they decided to mask up?

14 year old looters don't need to watch the news. Politics isn't an abstraction to them, it's real life. Politics for them is tripling tuition fee costs and cutting EMA, it is housing and public transport costs which are unaffordable, it is growing up in a dingy neighbourhood with drug dealers on the corner while being harassed daily by the police and your friend or neighbour murdered by the them. It's about having a poor education and anyway not jobs to go to and little hope or prospects for the future.

Either we start doing something about the gross levels of inequality and poverty in our society, or we should be prepared for a future where society is at war with itself, and endless social unrest.
