Anyone else now want Mexican food?! Grin It's reminded me of the time I visited New Orleans... I'd been reading about Marie Leveau before I went but nonetheless, you can 100% feel the magic as you arrive. Voodoo is deeply entrenched in the music, food, the swampy air... really magical.

@speakout thank you for sharing the video. I've watched a few Molly Roberts' videos this evening. Really interesting tips on how to live magic everyday. Thanks again.

@VioletCharlotte I hope your energy continues to come back. Something reinvigorating about the rain and it seems we have it for a little while longer yet so hopefully it'll work its magic for you.

@Ogress thank you for the chant. It was a new experience for me and very welcome Smile

VioletCharlotte · 08/07/2020 21:46

I'm also now thinking about Mexican food - I've not had tacos for a long time. I've recently switched to a vegan diet so will look for a vegan recipe to try.

The rain meant that my outdoor yoga class couldn't go ahead this evening which was shame. We switched to Zoom, I'm really grateful for this option (although not the same as a face to face class!)

I've felt a real shift in energy today. The last week or so, everything had been feeling rather stagnant and much more difficult that usual, like swimming through treacle. I've been working with this energy since the full moon and today it was like a blockage suddenly cleared and everything has suddenly started to flow nicely again. Funny how it goes!

Pleased to hear it Violet, I love it when that happens. I think when you’re committed to ‘doing the work’ then the block clears when you’re ready. I hope you have a peaceful sleep tonight.

Blurpblop I love your description of the magic of New Orleans, I can almost feel it.

My taco recipe is fairly straightforward, from a book originally I think but now committed to memory so may not be exactly’right’ but it works for me! (It is vegan) 🌮

Guacamole:
2 ripe avocados
3-4 cloves garlic, finely chopped
Juice of 1 lime
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon chilli flakes (or to taste with spices and garlic)

Mash avocados and mix with other ingredients.

Shred iceberg lettuce, quarter cherry tomatoes and chop fresh coriander. Be generous with the tomatoes and coriander, the combination of them works well if their volume is at least equal to that of the lettuce. Mix well.

Put taco shells in the oven and heat a tin of black beans on the hob for about 5 mins until warmed through.

When done, build the tacos by adding guacamole first, then black beans then the crispy coriander salad. Enjoy!

P.s I like this woman for plant based cooking ideas

Yashmicrone thank you so much for the taco recipe - sounds delicious and I'm looking forward to trying it out this weekend. And thank you too for the link.

Speakout thank you too for the link to the Molly Roberts video. I've not come across her before and I'm always on the look out for new witchy material to read and watch. This thread holds such a wealth of wisdom. I'm so glad your business is doing well. I think the situation means more people than ever are looking for something different, so I'm not surprised there's such demand for pagan products. Great news for you!

The announcement today about gyms and swimming pools opening up soon has given me a real lift. I've missed swimming and my classes so much, I can't wait to get back!

YashmisCrone · 10/07/2020 12:06

It’s a pleasure Violet, I love the different ways we can share our magic here.

I’ve been thinking about our everyday magic and how it infuses all we do. Also those around us. I’ve had DS here since before lockdown and see this time as a gift of quality time spent together. Since he’s been here I’ve noticed how many of my everyday magic ways he has inherited- although he wouldn’t term it as such. Growing and cooking with herbs for certain intentions, lighting candles and experimenting with oil blends. Making sure he washes his bedding on a sunny day because he prefers the feel of it fresh from drying in the elements.

I use bath salt blends a lot in my magic. I’ll mix some up with oils for a certain purpose- like comfort, release, uplifting energy etc. They live in a glass jar in the bathroom, away from the regular products. There are also conventional products in the bathroom- a mineral bubble bath etc.

Yesterday DS emerged from the bath telling me that there were no bath salts left in the jar, hadn’t even occurred to him to use the bubble bath. He said he looks forward to discovering what blend appears in the jar. Better get mixing!

Interesting how those around us feel drawn to things that have magic stirred into them. It’s nice to think of passing this on in small ways.

Wishing everyone a happy Friday

Wow- what synchronicity!!

I have been sitting with my DD for the past hour as she is helping me design a web site. We have been working on a logo, experimenting with colours, fonts, placements etc, and the term "Everyday magic" is one we have been playing around with for ages, - becoming "word confused" as we have read the phrase 100 times this morning- is it two words or one, should it be upper or lower case etc.
We have just finished, she has gone upastairs, and I opened this thread to find you talking of "everday magic"!! I have chills!

Off to hang some laundry outside and do some everyday magic- sounds like you have a budding witch on your hands. YashmisCrone

But we are all witches really..........

This made me smile today, very true in my experience! Smile

YashmisCrone · 10/07/2020 17:22

Also, I know others follow this page too but it really resonated with me and I wanted to share it here:

“ One of those weeks, darklings?

Felt like just about everyone was doing stupid shit or getting on your tits? Bouts of weepy WTF-itis? Disturbing nostalgia and batshit dreams? All at once as steaming little ol' you held it together by a thread with only occasional unleashing of flying monkeys - for recon purposes of course - and mild bouts of trigger finger tourettes.

Welcome now to the weekend, where not much will change until Monday. By then like ships crossing in the night, Mercury will be direct and Chiron will be freshly retrograde. But until then? As just about every news channel is telling you not by complete coincidence, bunker thafuck down.

Stationing points, when a planet is coming into or out of retrograde, are notoriously tricky to navigate. They herald or emphasise, depending on whether the rx is beginning or ending. In the case of this weekend: both.

The full stop on this fully mental Merc rx is bound to be confounding, emotional and gaspworthy revealing all at once. It will throw a whole new hue over the last few weeks and ensure that all the nostalgia has not set you back. Tip for willing delusionists: if you got back with your ex anything, this weekend may well remind you why you broke up the first time around. Make it so again to pass the test. Choose you.

Chiron's rx is a little more nuanced and a lot longer. The dive is deeper and more tender as we wrangle our own original sin, the identity wounds that hold us back from shining bright like a multifaceted prism here to save the world. But first, stationing and a poke or two in that same spot. This may hurt in a productive pain kinda way but not as much ignoring it.

There are coping strategies beyond anaesthesia, dissociation and denial but as this is Friday night, I leave just two here at your discretion. Chardy as self care is a debate for another day far earlier in the week. Simply holding thyself and staying out of the fray is the everything right now.

The great joy of turning down the volume on a braying world is that it amplifies what is taking root within you. Kicks you back in and allows you to spend valuable time on the most vital relationship of your life.

Dig in, darklings.

Yashmis and Speakout wow, what amazing synergy! Everyday magic is absolutely the right name Speakout, I don't think you could ask for clearer confirmation that that. I do love it when things like that happen.

Yasmis thank you for sharing that post. I follow her too, I love her writing style. She's been spot on this week for me with her energy forecasts, it's certainly been a bumpy ride (and that's putting it mildly!)

While we're talking about social media posts, I thought I would share this one. I love the idea of a soul family ❤️

Any Witches Here? Part 11
speakout · 11/07/2020 05:53

VioletCharlotte That is so lovely- amd wonderful to have you as a soul sister!! People we choose to have in our tribe are so important! Interesting you talk of a bumpy week- I have had one too. Feeling unsettled within, I have been doing all the usual things to set things right, but feeling unfurled. No bad things happening, just internal discomfort. Can't put my finger on it. But I am old and wise enough to let it ride. To know it will pass, and to have no self judgement.
A beautiful cloudless morning here, wood pigeons cooing outside my window. I will go food shopping early this morning- face masks are now compulsary here, it makes for a very strange and hostile atmosphere. But I will shop early to avoid the queues and get home.
I have sun, moon, mercury, venus and mars in my 4th house - astrological natal chart- no surprise that I love being at home!!

speakout I think these words are so wise and ones that we would all be happier for committing to live by. I hope that these feelings soon pass, and that you feel a lightness seeping in as the day goes on.

Violet another one here who feels happy to have you as a soul sister Smile

I gain such strength from our gathering, thank you all x

speakout · 11/07/2020 13:30

YashmisCrone thank you!!

I have just had a package returned to me- some magical items I posted to UEA. I didn't know witchcraft was illegal there- whoops!

The box has been ripped open and the contents deliberately damaged. Customs stickers authorising returning to sender-it never reached the recipient. carefully tied scrolls have been open and torn into pieces, home made candles have huge gouge marks - looks like a knife or sharp impliment has been used. Bath salts torn open and scattered. Everything stuffed back in the box and taped up- returned without being delivered.
I am glad I don't live in Dubai!!

OP posts:
VioletCharlotte · 11/07/2020 14:49

Speakout wow, that's scary! It does make you think that actually we're pretty lucky to live somewhere where we are pretty free to express our views and hold our own beliefs There are times when I feel so frustrated with the UK, but actually things could be a whole lot worse!

I've never seen the attraction of Dubai as a holiday destination, it doesn't appeal to me one bit.

Woke up to much needed blue sky and sunshine this morning. DS1 and I met my parents at a local country park and went for a long walk. It was so nice to see the cafe open and families having picnics and children playing on the playground, really uplifting.

Home now to catch up on some housework then food shopping later this afternoon. We don't have to wear masks on the supermarket yet in England, but I wouldn't be surprised if that doesn't change. I know what you mean about the hostile feeling it creates Speakout. I don't tend to wear one unless I have to (eg medical apt) as I'm not convinced they're particularly effective (certainly not in the way the majority of people use them anyway!)

speakout · 11/07/2020 15:22

VioletCharlotte I am glad you are having an enjoyable day.
We don't have cafes open here yet, and most shops are still closed.
I have never had a desire to visit Dubai either, I have passed though the airport on route to other desinations, and could easily have done a stop over, but really doesn't float my boat.

I just hope the person that bought the witchcraft items is safe- I have emailed them but so far no reply. Yes it is scary.
I have disposed of the items.

Good afternoon Soul Sisters Halloween Grin

Aeons ago, there was a popular theory about soul groups reincarnating together. The intention was not to all spend that lifetime together, but rather to meld in and out of each others' lives when the situation needed it.

Good grief Speakout that's appalling, so many closed minds in that area, noticeably very much male-dominated very religious society too.
I hope the person you sent them to hasn't had any unpleasant backlash. Their customs finding something they consider so dangerous that s/he can't receive it is one thing, but to destroy everything before returning it to you, that shows their fear.

This article, which should be centred on fraud not beliefs, was updated last December, so the stance on what they perceive witchcraft to be seems current. masala.com/uae-expat-woman-arrested-for-practising-witchcraft-making-money-illegally-311184.html

speakout · 11/07/2020 16:06

lankTimes that is a lovely idea about soul groups, I know I have found my tribe here- that's for sure!!

Quite terrifying about the woman arrested for witchcraft in UAE. I will most definately be giving the country a miss!

Ooof @speakout I can't believe that. Like you said @VioletCharlotte as much as the UK frustrates me at times, we are lucky to live here so freely - as witches and as women. Everyday Magic - the name is wonderful and perfect. Surely everyone wants a bit of that?!

@YashmisCrone it is so beautiful about your son being so atuned to your witchy ways. These small rituals - the everyday magic - is so pervasive and can become a person's default thing. I know the importance my mum and grandmothers placed on 'tea' has had a lasting effect. Something that was always there, not the centre of atention... like wallpaper... but absolutely threaded into the everyday. Sounds like your son has carried so much of you into his life - just lovely Smile Weirdly I've recently started watching Seinfeld from the beginning as I've never watched it before. So funny! How strange you posted the picture of Elaine!

@VioletCharlotte I'm just reflecting on people I've known / still know that I like but there's some sort of block or difference that's ever-present. Unlike your soul family - I have friends like this too and it feels like a kinship... a magnetic pull. It makes me smile and laugh. The universe has its ways... I know I've said it before but thank you for htis thread It's become such an anchor for me and I'm seeing the world differently ever since.

I had such a lovely day today - a walk with my beauties (DDs) around a local country park and a trip to an animal sanctuary. I feel such a connection to animals and know my future needs to be closer to nature and to animals especially. We walked all around the woods, listened to the birds, breathed the air and I've been feeling deeply calm and happy ever since.

Happy Saturday all Flowers

speakout · 12/07/2020 06:42

Good morning soul sisters!! I have woken very early this Sunday morning, it is so still and beautiful outside, just a few fluffy clouds dusting a bright blue sky.
The only sound I can hear is wood pigeons cooing in the trees. Apart from that silence. I feel as if I am the only person awake in the whole world.
Having my delicious coffee and pondering over which oils to use in my shower and what kind of yoga practice I feel like doing today- every morning is different, but I just go with the flow.

We call our everyday actions habits, but I like to think of them as rituals. That way they become magical and sacred, framing them as soul nurturing acts, encouraging me to treat these small actions mindfully and magically.
I am imbued with the idea of ritual , but particularly in the morning. The same repetitive acts give comfort and structure, and I think quietly about how each act is enhancing. My coffee, I turn on the shower before I brush my teeth and fetch the towels, giving the hot water a few moments to warm up the air a little – adding the essential oil just before I step in so I don’t lose the precious fragrance.
Then I move downstairs- light some incense and a candle, put out my yoga mat , feed my familiars.
I extinguish the incense- I like only a hint of fragrance and start my yoga practice. Mat away, I go back upstairs to put on a small amount of make up and brush my hair, I notice the scent in the air from my shower has now travelled through the upstairs corridor.
During this time I am silent- no one is awake but me. Each action and task feels powerful and magical, not to be rushed, a symbol of the nurture I choose to give to myself and an acknowledgement of the divine.
Creatures of habit they say. Everyday magic in practice for me.

OP posts:
VioletCharlotte · 12/07/2020 10:27

I'm smiling as I read your post Speakout...there's that synergy again! I'm sitting in the garden, drinking my coffee and was just thinking the same as you , about how these rituals become an important part of the day. Simple things; coffee, showering, choosing oils, cooling delicious food, even washing and cleaning, become so much more meaningful when they're done mindfully and with intention. My oil blend of choice today is lemon and jasmine, really summery and perfect for such a lovely day.

I'm popping out this morning to see an old friend, then this afternoon I'm going to drive over to Avebury stone circle. I've been feeling pulled there for a while, so now it's reopened it feels like a good time to go. I've never been in the summer before so looking forward to seeing it in a different light. Plus my neighbours re having an enormous BBQ this afternoon, so I want to make myself scarce! Haha, that makes me sounds so anti-social!

speakout · 12/07/2020 11:08

VioletCharlotte I love the synchronicity! Simple things........ become so much more meaningful when they're done mindfully and with intention.
Absolutely- I agree completely!

My oil choice today was lemon and bergamot- I love citrus oils too, especially in the morning, and perfect for the summer months.

I think you are wise to avoid the BBQ- not anti social at all. Enjoy Avebury today.

One Baptist service down, one to go- including communion.
DD is off viewing a flat tomorrow - she is moving in with a friend. She lived in student accommodation for her first year, and has been back home for a year.
She is excited at the prospect of city living, but the idea of her leaving again tugs at my heart strings. She won't be far- and I have been though it before, but still feels poignant. Need to put on my big girl pants- and look at the positives!!

Hello all and brightest blessings. Haven’t posted for some while but it’s good to read all your posts - I now want (in no particular order) tacos, essential oils and a trip to Avebury. Actually, Avebury was a school trip for me aged about 6 and I can remember a huge head rush from the energy. I went to a CofE school so converting a child to the Old Ways was probably not on their agenda when they chose the location.

I’ve had a trying time lately. My mum died in May (sudden but natural causes) so now I’m slowly sorting out her house and my past in one handy package. I’ve been feeling very depleted on the energy front so, yes, could do with a boost!

YashmisCrone · 12/07/2020 13:08

Loving this talk of rituals, and again the synergy! 💫 speakout your description of your morning rituals is so beautifully written- you have such a way with words. I love the sound of both yours and Violets oil blends today.

Violet very pleased to hear that you’re going to have time with a friend and at Avebury today- I’m sure it will be the nourishment your soul needs, particularly as it’s been calling you.

Blurpblorp how funny about the Seinfeld synchronicity!! Must be a message in those words for you! I love what you say about your family and the importance of tea, the subtlety of it and the comparison of wallpaper Smile

It’s lovely to see you Crafty, good to have you here with us. Tune in to our 8am and 8pm connections if you can/would like to. Our collective energy is there for a boost when you need it. I’m sorry to hear you’ve been through such a tough time recently.

I’m slowly sorting out her house and my past in one handy package. this really resonated with me- very true in my experience too. I hope you can go gently with yourself as you work through it all.
