I think hat you may be right Blank Times. I have been giving this lock down some thought and I have come to the conclusion that when our pace of life slowed nature began to recover. The air was cleaner, fish returned to rivers and the planet was healthier. The virus is very cruel and many have suffered and these are sad times. But I believe lessons should be learned for future generations.. I think the human race should begin to show the Earth a little more respect. Perhaps we should join forces with positive energy at a given time. Every little thing helps. What does everyone else think ?

BlankTimes · 12/08/2020 12:01

Definitely agree about lockdown benefitting Mother Earth. It was a huge sign to people who hadn't noticed before and a massive wake-up call that no-one could ignore, our skies were so clear because of the lack of aircraft, and the air was so clear and the rivers ran clear, it was such a joy to see and Mother Earth began to heal.

Yes, we need to show much, much more respect for Mother Earth but whilst we're capitalist-driven it'll not be enough. There are lots of people who have been making an effort though, here's just one ptes.org/campaigns/traditional-orchard-project/orchard-network/community-orchards/

As for different ways of living, this movement seems on the face of it to be very well intentioned. Disclaimer, I know nothing about it aside from this one article. dhammadana.weebly.com/uploads/2/2/3/5/22352530/peace_activities_of_sarvodaya.pdf

Perhaps we should join forces with positive energy at a given time
We already do, 8am and 8pm every day, light a candle and give or take as much as you need Halloween Grin

buggeroffvirus · 12/08/2020 12:05

Thank you I will join you. I wish I had found these posts earlier. I feel a bit better now.

BlankTimes · 12/08/2020 14:01

Glad to hear it, you're very welcome Flowers

When you have time, do have a look through all of our previous threads, links are on the first page of this thread, there's a mine of information in there on all sorts of subjects.

Don't forget, you can't heal or help anyone else until you're stabilised yourself, (the old put your own oxygen mask on first scenario) we discuss and practise a lot of self-care here so we can help other sentient beings. There are always different ideas being posted.

speakout · 12/08/2020 17:37

buggeroffvirus a warm welcome glad you have joined us- blanktimes some wonderful idea there that we can all work with.
I love to listen to the wind rustling through leaves in the trees - like a thousand whispers. I like to think these are words that have been captured in the wind by my ancestors, and trees give these whispers life.
I often recite incantations or words into the winds, perhaps others do too.
I have some favourite trees near my home, I like to get to know them individually, their lore, their character. whether guardians of the forest and the matriarchs , the new vigorous birches racing towards the sky, or the evergreens that remind us that life is still with us in the winter months.

A warm welcome from me too buggeroffvirus, it’s good to have you here. Thank you for bringing the nature focus, as you can see you’re amongst like minds here.

Beautiful words and ideas from BlankTimes and speakout, and synchronicity here too.

I was drawn to my Brian froud cards today for the first time in a long time and pulled The Faun, who’s message is just what you’re all talking about. I love how in tune we are.

‘See you’ at 8 for some Gaia energy raising 🌍 💚

VioletCharlotte · 12/08/2020 20:37

We had the most amazing storm this afternoon. It's been over 30 degrees here for the past 6 days, so it was such a welcome relief. Huge claps of thunder, lightening and rain of biblical proportions. The air smells and feels so much freshers and cooler now. I'm hoping for a deep sleep tonight.

Buggeroffvirus welcome SmileI smiled when I read your post about feeling like the trees and the plants are beckoning your, I know exactly what you mean by this. I love walking in the woods and listening to the trees, if you listen hard enough, they'll always tell you what it is you need to know.

speakout · 13/08/2020 06:57

VioletCharlotte I hope you had a deep refreshing sleep- and good to hear the thunderstorms reached you.
YashmisCrone I love the sound of your Oracle cards, beautiful otherworldly energy.

A cool mornining here too. The joiner comes back this morning to finish the floor- I will be happy when he is gone. My familiars have been in hiding.
It was a day of turbulent energy and changes yesterday, DD has found a flat and will move out next week, mixed feelings for me of course, but she is very excited!
I ended up watching a movie with DS in the evening after the joiner left , so a nice relaxing end to the day.
I will light a candle at 8 this morning as we all start our day.

Have a magical Thursday!

It’s a cooler morning here too, we had rain which has served to break some of the humidity. So glad you got a storm Violet, I hope you slept well afterwards. I know it’s been stifling where you are.

I can relate to your mixed feelings speakout. When DS left I was happy for him, sad because I would miss having him around, part of me liked the space his leaving gave me and a host of other seemingly contradictory emotions. Then a whole load of readjustment when he came home again a few years later. Our connection with our children is deep and complex and I think the emotions this engenders can be profound. I’m glad to hear you had a relaxing evening and hope that the work going on in your house is over as smoothly and swiftly as possible so that both you and your familiars can regain equilibrium.

I have a heavy workload again this week and am glad of the clearing work I did in my workspace. I’m making sure I punctuate my day with mindful moments of connecting with the elements, also checking in with myself, acknowledging my feelings. I’m finding it a good way to lessen the ‘stack’ of emotion I can be left with at the end of the day otherwise.

I hope everyone is has a good day

VioletCharlotte · 13/08/2020 10:17

Speakout my DS is moving into his new uni house on Saturday, so I can relate to those mixed feelings too. It's a combination of pride, and excitement for them, combined with maternal feelings of wanting to nurture them and make sure they're safe. Like you, I still will have one DS at home, so not a totally empty nest just yet.

Yashmis such wise words, as always. I love the idea of checking in with yourself throughout the day to see how you're feeling. Often I get to the end of the day and feel completely exhausted, this is a good technique for managing the load.

So much cooler here today which is a a huge relief. I'm looking forward to having my hair coloured this evening, always nice to have a bit of pamper time!

speakout · 13/08/2020 11:23

YashmisCrone and VioletCharlotte for your wise words- I knew I would have understanding on this thread.
I know a lot of us have been through this before.
My DD left for a year at 18 (Uni) , back for a year here , and now off again
Same old feeling though- and lots of them. Sadness- her sunny loving energy brightens the home, but excitement too- she is very excited, and I am too for her, and for me! I will have time to nurture myself, do more yoga, delve deeper into my magical craft, my work spend more time with mt DS. And trying to not feel guilty about that aspect!! What a fairground ride it all is!
Just having a coffee after a trip to the postt office before starting work.
Thanks again dear sisters- it means a lot to be understood!

it means a lot to be understood! I agree wholeheartedly speakout, this is a gift I have received here too and feel much gratitude for.

A busy few days for both you and Violet I imagine, with the usual commitments and preparations for DC moving to their new places. I hope there’s also opportunity to stop and feel proud of what you have achieved as parents. I think any milestone can be an opportunity to also appreciate the fruits of our labour.

We had a terrific storm here in the early hours. I opened my bedroom curtains and watched, took in the electric energy it produced.

I don’t quite know how Friday came around so quickly again! It feels like yesterday we were musing the magical energy of the day.

Happy Friday friends, may your day be full of magic

VioletCharlotte · 14/08/2020 11:42

Yashmis that resonates so much with me too. I love that I can post here on the knowledge my sisters will understand and recognise what I'm feeling ❤️

Yes, busy day coming up tomorrow as I help DS move into his new house. So far, he's not packed a single thing, so there is much to be done! Speakout I'm sure your DD is much more organised than my DS!

We had another storm yesterday too and more predicted for today and over the weekend... so much energy!

speakout · 14/08/2020 12:09

Loving the sound of these storms- I love that fizzing energy too.

violet no my DD isn't terrible organised, she is a last minnute person! However her new flat is only 7 miles away, so I suspect the moving will take some days- if not weeks!
My DD was at a drive in movie event last night, lots of fun activities too, and she came back like a ball of energy as she had won the "dance off"- 200 people took part.
I will miss that energy!
But I have ordered myself a new mixed incense box, a pair of good tweezers and a batch of candles for myself- time for self investment!!

Happy Friday evening everyone. We have late evening sun today, it has been overcast and dull, but relaxed into a beautiful late summer evening.
I have been working all day making dozens of kits. I have found the best way to work is sitting on the floor and placing each piece of work in a circle around me as I attend and add to each item. It feel profoundly magical to be working in a circular space!
I often listen to music, podcasts or you tube videao as I work - mostly spiritual or pagan.
I came across this video today- not sure how it escaped me, but very interesting

Very moving. A quote within this video is this
In our group sometimes someone will say “ I just had something good happen to me”, and we can celebrate for each other- and that’s difficult for women in this culture- it is not considered nice or we are considered demanding to want to share our happiness. But within this group we have a safe space, to strengthen, heal and go further when one of us are in need or toubled or want to share.
It resonated because that is how I feel about this sacred space.
As we approach the end of this thread and look towards number 12!!

Speakout

Beannacht

On the day when
the weight deadens
on your shoulders
and you stumble,
may the clay dance
to balance you.

And when your eyes
freeze behind
the grey window
and the ghost of loss
gets into you,
may a flock of colours,
indigo, red, green
and azure blue,
come to awaken in you
a meadow of delight.

When the canvas frays
in the currach of thought
and a stain of ocean
blackens beneath you,
may there come across the waters
a path of yellow moonlight
to bring you safely home.

May the nourishment of the earth be yours,
may the clarity of light be yours,
may the fluency of the ocean be yours,
may the protection of the ancestors be yours.

And so may a slow
wind work these words
of love around you,
an invisible cloak
to mind your life.

KatherineParr4 · 15/08/2020 11:58

That is such a beautiful poem.
