Or Wiccans. or Pagans? Or anyone who is interested in a magical path or feels some magical stirrings.

A place for support, learning, swapping ideas and magical inspiration.

I love your description of the ripples created by acts of kindness speakout, such a beautiful image and I completely agree, purplefig’s kind words will have infused positive energy into the field of the receptionist and set things off on a different trajectory. Sharing positive energy is such a powerful thing, however we do it. Now more than ever I think.

So pleased to hear the heating is fixed! What joy in having heat and hot water.

I managed a few moments taking in some water medicine. Just what I needed. There’s something about flowing water that soothes me instantly.

Hello everyone, I've been quiet again for a while, I can't seem to sustain regular posting! Grin

purplefig congratulations on your beautiful baby. Please don't feel guilty for enjoying your life right now- it's how it should be. We all should take joy in whatever we can right now and the birth of a baby is a very joyful thing indeed. I would be sad to see you saying you couldn't enjoy one of the most precious times of your life because of everything that's happening. I firmly believe if we're following all the guidelines etc then we're all doing our bit to help each other, and doing as much as we can.

speakout I'm glad you have heating and hot water again. It makes me realise how much I take those for granted, it's such an inconvenience to be without them.

Yashmis thank you for all the lovely pictures of nature you post, they're very cheering to see. I've not left the house for nearly a month now (had to self isolate before full lockdown), apart to go in our garden, which I am very grateful to have, but it would be so nice to get out and about. There's nowhere very quiet near where I live to go for a walk so have just been indoors!

I'm actually doing much better than I anticipated! I've loved all the extra time with my DC, and planning things to homeschool them has been an excellent distraction. I've got very sloppy recently, in part due to having to work from home a bit, but I've now been furloughed, and I am fortunate enough to be in the position that this is a good thing for me. I felt under a great deal of stress, including at work, just prior to all this happening, so it's kind of given me the breathing space I needed. Of course I would much prefer things to not be like this at the moment but I will take the good things where I can and stay positive as like you all have said, it's so important.

Take care everyone, I will keep reading even when I'm forgetful to post x

VioletCharlotte · 08/04/2020 21:00

Such beautiful energy on this thread, it's so soothing to come here at the end of the day and read all of your posts.

How's everyone finding the full moon? It's a powerful one, for sure! I'm feeling ok emotionally, but I feel rather wired, as if I'm running at a much higher speed than normal. I always struggle with sleep around a full moon and have been waking several times in the night. I've been for a long walk this evening in the hope I'll be tired and sleep better! Here's a picture of the sunset, it was so peaceful and still out.

Yashmis
Thank you for sharing that lovely picture of the river, I can almost hear the water running. I'm really craving being near water, I don't live close enough to a river or the sea to go at the moment, so it's nice to look at your picture and imagine being there.

IntheTempset I'm glad you're making the best of this unexpected down time and taking the opportunity to relax with your DC and catch up at home. It's very rare we get the chance to slow down.

I'm off for a warm shower now before bed. I've made a scrub with lavender oil and Vetvier, I'm hoping it will help with sleep.

Good morning wise friends- such a deep sleep last night, just having a coffee before I start my day.
Life is so busy right now, it is a little overwhelming, and squeezing in a yoga session every morning does at times feel like an extra chore.
But I am always glad I have done my yoga session, it sets a wonderfully calm tone for the rest of the day, even when I am really busy. My seed table is now absolutely stuffed with pots, most have already germinated, it’s such a pleasure to have a look as I pass and see noticeable growth even in one day. I have planted a few trees in my garden too and they are romping away. I will have to stop planting seeds now as I won’t have enough space in my garden to accommodate all my plants!
It is a bright day, a little cloudy, and I am being given some fine music from wood pigeons outside my window.
Off for my yoga session,I hope magic touches you today.

Good morning all.
I haven’t posted in a long time but coming back here and reading all your posts is so calming and soothing to me. It’s like medicine for the soul.
I can literally feel the peaceful energy you are sending out and it is wonderful, especially with what is going on in the world right now.

I hope you all have a nourishing day and find beauty and joy wherever you can.

speakout · 09/04/2020 08:15

TwilightPeace

Lovely to see you again.
It's wonderful what we can create isn't it. By weaving a soothing place and creating an oasis that we share.
I had a candle burning at 8am this morning as I was working with bridge pose- I was thinking about all the bridges that people on this thread have built- and how that serves to connect- to keep contact, to find ways of relating, sharing and holding each other.
In these times of fear and isolation our bridges become more important than ever.

@speakout I absolutely love that imagery - like ripples in a pool. That's such a good way to look at it. I am so happy for you that your heating is fixed Grin and your seeds are sprouting away. Every time I read your posts I'm encouraged to do a yoga video too!

@YashmisCrone what a gorgeous image! I have to say my daily walk to the sea does much the same for me and helps remind me that I am a tiny speck in the grand scheme of the planet (that might sound depressing but I find it comforting).

@InTheTempest I'm much the same, I go through spurts with mumsnet. I love this thread, but I've found all the coronavirus stuff on the rest of the forum a bit off-putting. Thanks so much for your kind words, I am enjoying her immensely and you're totally right about following guidelines etc. I'm so glad your situation has improved, like you say it's so important to focus on the good in life right now.

@VioletCharlotte I'm cross with myself for forgetting to look at the full moon! I do remember a few threads back people saying it disturbed their regular sleep patterns though, so it could be that? I hope you slept better last night. Your homemade scrub sound divine!

@TwilightPeace I couldn't agree more and it's a strange and marvellous feat for the internet isn't it?! It's usually such a frantic, fast place but this thread is the opposite.

I've been feeling a bit off balance the last few days, of which I'm sure sleep deprivation is playing no small part in. But today I have been thinking about the importance of gratitude. I've been feeling really envious of people with nice gardens lately (for obvious reasons!) and in turn I've been resenting my tiny little north facing courtyard. But today I went out and sat in midday sun with my dog and cat and was incredibly grateful for that small patch of land which allowed me to breathe in fresh air and feel the sun on my face. This weekend I'm going to plant my lettuce seeds too, more for the experiment than any real hope it'll grow into something edible Grin

YashmisCrone · 09/04/2020 19:49

Good evening friends,

I hope everyone’s found a moment to turn their face to the sun today, pockets of peace and rejuvenation.

Tempest
It’s good to see you and feel your positive energy. I agree there’s gifts to be found in the shadows of what can feel overall like darker times. Hear, hear to revelling in any joy we can take at this time!

Violet thank you for that lovely picture of sunset, such calm in it. I don’t sleep as well around the full moon either. Must make some more of that liquid sleep blend! Hope your scrub did the trick.

speakout I know the feeling with the seed planting! I’m going to have to stop too but there’s just such joy in those first shoots of growth, the promise of what’s to come. I love your bridge reflections. So true of our group, I’m drawing such strength here.

purplefig I can really relate to what you say about the feeling the sea gives you- instant perspective and comfort. It’s too far away for me to visit right now, but the woodland water spirits are wonderful companions too, I’m lucky to have them within walking distance.

TwilightPeace it’s good to have you back, I agree the energy we create together is such a haven. It takes an open heart to feel it I think.

Another busy day here but I made sure I got out for a walk, so glad I did. Sharing some more rural energy for those who are not so close to the countryside.

Will be sending out love and calming energy at 8 🕯

What lovely pictures you've all been posting. I've been trying to spend less time on my phone as it was slightly alarming how quickly I was becoming addicted to it. Normally I don't have access to it during the day and don't miss it.

I've also been doing some gardening and sowing some vegetable seeds. I'm hoping to start a herb garden as well and learn about their medicinal properties. It's been nice to work in the garden while ddog snuffles around or snoozes in the sunshine. I actually feel a little guilty that having got over the initial wobbles about not being at work I'm having quite a pleasant time. I have volunteered for a local support group but not been called upon yet.

Stay well everyone

Elphame · 10/04/2020 17:39

Like everyone else I’ve been gardening.

Lots of vegetable seeds in and I even tackled the long neglected courtyard as it’s the only part of the garden where the noise of the screeching children next door is muted to bearable.

I’ve just ordered a table and chairs for it and some cream masonry paint is top of my shopping list for when we can go shopping again. Once the planters are filled with the summer bedding currently in the greenhouse it will be a lovely place for breakfast as it gets the morning sun. I’ve hung a green man plaque on the wall and I’m sure I can find some more bits and pieces for it

YashmisCrone · 10/04/2020 19:05

There seems no such place as a quiet garden atm does there Elphame still the power tools round here.. your courtyard project sounds lovely though, a haven in the making. Would love to hear more of your adventures in herbary as you learn Kate

Realising it was bank holiday I gave myself the afternoon off, potted on some of my veg and walked a bit further into the woods/along the river. Couldn’t resist wading in although wasn’t quite brave enough for a swim ! Must go back with my swimming kit. A bit off the beaten track I didn’t encounter any other humans although someone had already been there building stone towers. It was beautiful there, very magical.

A quiet eveing here- Elphame your garden sounds wonderful, I am glad you are enjoying the planting season.
YashmisCrone enchanting photographs, what a magical place.
Did you do the balancing stones?

Quite a sombre mood here. My mother has been watching a streamed Good Friday service from my sister's church- lasted nearly three hours this afternoon- very gruesome, serious- and extremely loud! it has cast quite a gloom over the house, despite the wonderful spring sunshine. Curtains were closed( to see TV better) and windows shut ( too cold).
Just waiting to cleanse and smudge!!
Oestre is such a beautiful uplifting time, full of hope. Or should be!!
Waiting until I can throw open the windows!!

YashmisCrone · 10/04/2020 19:41

Oh it is bleak and gruesome ‘good Friday’ isn’t it speakout, such a miserable story. I hope you can soon through the windows open, I’m sending some enchanted river energy your way.

I didn’t balance the stones, I found them like that, right across the river. Lovely energy to it

Thank you!
Enchanted river energy gratefully received.
Just done some saining ( Scottish smudging) all windows are open, 8pm candle aready it, birdsong and cool evening air flooding though the room. Peppermint tea by my side, cats have crept in now the coast is clear! Harmony is being restored.

Ah, that sounds much better speakout, you’re a whizz at shifting energy! Joining you at 8 with a candle

speakout · 10/04/2020 20:59

Feeling relaxed- rain has started, a soft warm shower, the air is filled with the fragrance of petrichor. Just perfect for my early night, bedroom windows open, all I can hear is the gentle pattering of rain and an owl hooting in the trees.
Peaceful dreams everyone.

I have grown up in the Christian tradition and until quite recently attended an evangelical church so I am used to the Easter traditions of Good Friday and Easter Sunday. I so much wanted to believe and belong but I always knew I felt 'wrong' and out of place. Having walked away from that I have been reading about pagan celebrations of spring and Oestre which seem beautiful and joyful. However, I realise that the spring equinox was a couple of weeks ago so do you celebrate anything at Easter time?

speakout · 10/04/2020 21:36

Lots of lovely pagan things happen at Easter time.
Easter eggs, bunnies/hare, Easter trees, hot cross buns, baking, Easter egg hunts, a wonderful celebration of new life, and growth.

Sorry to hear about the doom and gloom intrusion Speakout I'm sure your home's equilibrium is restored.

Hi KateF have a look for the Wheel of the Year for different celebrations and here for some inspiration gathervictoria.com/category/spring/

Yashmis the enchanted energy flows from the river images. Love the stone stacks, reminds me of the Gravity Glue site we discussed so many threads ago, www.gravityglue.com/about/

Elphame your new growth is far ahead of mine, nothing I've planted has more than 2 leaves yet, but they'll flourish, I'm sure. Enjoy creating your courtyard sanctuary and think about noise-cancelling headphones Halloween Smile

Your photos are absolutely beautiful! I wish I lived near you. Very curious as to where you live.

I am longing for hot sunny weather, but it’s all down South! Am spending far too much time online, despite having lots of yoga/mediation stuff available on Zoom to do free.

I would love to be able to grow veg but sadly have no idea where to start. Loving the descriptions of all the planting and gardening going on. We are mostly weeding and tidying up, not much else.

speakout
Loving the descriptions of your open windows and smudging. I envy your owl!
