A safe, friendly thread where we can pause, think and count our blessings

Everyone is welcome here. Whether you have a faith or not, whether you are grateful for huge things or simple pleasures, whether you post every day or just once; stop by and join us, we would love to see you.

@WinWinnieTheWay - I'm sure that if you sent a message to your friends telling them that you enjoyed their company, particularly as you've been struggling a bit recently they'll want to support you. (Feel free to ignore this advice - I acknowledge I know nothing of your circumstances, or those of your friends.)

Orchidflower1 · 21/10/2020 08:22

I am grateful that dh has been able to drive the dc to school in the pouring rain.

I’m so glad I remembered to bring the washing in from the line last night!

I’m grateful for this thread and the people on it who help me to reflect on my blessings.

Lessstressedhemum · 21/10/2020 22:27

Thank you, Breath.

Winnie, I know how hard it is, but maybe if you can let your friends know that you're struggling a bit, then they will be able to support you .

A reasonably productive day
Time spent with ds4 watching a silly kids film
Clean, hot water at the turn of a tap.
My new conditioner bar. It smells so good.

Today I am grateful for having the coming week off work, to spend with my children.

Breathmiller · 25/10/2020 20:31

Enjoy your break speedofsloth
Yesterday.
I'm grateful for a morning of yoga with a wonderful teacher of mine.

And today..
For having nowhere to be outside the house. A pyjama day has been well overdue.
For my husband making a comforting dinner when the weather is wild outside.

Optimist1 · 25/10/2020 23:12

While there are young people like Marcus Rashford and Greta Thunberg in the world, the future's not entirely bleak

Lessstressedhemum · 26/10/2020 10:23

Enjoy this week, *sloth".

I know, Optimist, it gives you hope, doesn't it. Thank goodness for brave, caring, outspoken young people.

Today, I'm grateful that we have found a way to support DS3 and Ddil while she spirals down again, even though we aren't allowed to see them in person.
That I have the skills to do so.
And I'm grateful for my faith and the strength and calm it gives me when things are going wrong again.

Thank you. DS ends self-isolation tomorrow so we are meeting up with lovely friends, another thing to be grateful for.

Breathmiller · 26/10/2020 21:06

I am grateful for a day with no drama- just a lovely everyday day catching up with little jobs. Morning meditations, tidying up, making soup, a walk, a catch up with a friend

And then delightful news from my daughter.

And a good book to end the day.

Lessstressedhemum · 27/10/2020 23:58

Brilliant meeting this evening
Caring friends
The police doing a very fast welfare check on ddil, who is spiralling again

I have just seen this thread, can I join you? I have suddenly started feeling I am really missing church and feel a need to make space to be prayerful in my day.

Thankful for the connection I have with my aunt, who I have been texting today. She didn't keep in contact for a few years when she was very depressed and it's so good to have her back. Also grateful my DD has been able to go for a walk with a friend, her first social engagement since the summer (we have been in lockdown for ages here).

Lessstressedhemum · 18/11/2020 15:04

Hello, Colouring, it's lovely to see you.
