First of all we want to give thanks for Peter's new heart and keep praying for Misdee (LadyVictoriaOfCake), the three girls and the extended family. Pray for continuing healing and a full recovery.

In tension with that we pray for Onlyjoking and Steve and their three children, together with Steve's mother and his (twin) brother. Let us commit them in prayer to the God of miracles and of blessing. Pray that they will find help in the most unexpected places and that the 'peace of God which passes all understanding' will fill their heart.

Prayers for CaptainCaveman in a difficult situation with dsis in hospital. Praying for grace to cope from day to day with issues that are longstanding and unresolved. Prayer for restful nights and an deliverance from panic attacks.
Give thanks for an understanding manager at work.

CaptainDippy gives thanks for dh's new job, which is going well so far and for Phoebe sleeping through the night. Prayers to cope with all the stress of having three 'ickle pickles'.

Harrisey - thanks for a holiday that was better than expected. Thanks for a smooth start to school for ds. Prayers for dh, proper adjustment of medication and for an end to H's migraine.

We pray for MaryBS for a wonderful time on holiday also for Mufti. NASWM (Losty) Let's give thanks that she is getting better, although she is nowhere near well. Hoping to be discharged in September. Pray for the necessary help to be found. (Thanks to DumbledoresGirl for the update). If possible post a message on the thread. here

Xaviella has seen the end of her relationship in the last week. Pray for the peace of God to surround her and her family as she adjusts to life on her own

ZipadySuzy is back after a wonderful lady at the library gave her a computer. Unfortunately all stuff from her old computer has been lost at the repairers.
Pray that she will be able to pace herself

Dnieces have just left for Wales. The weekend was a complete success, they're lovely 'kids' (26 and 23). Hope the weather holds for them, they're camping
Worz, what a pain, hope it clears soon.
How are you Rosey and Dippy?
And CC too, glad to hear about your sister. How is her dd coping, it sounded really rough on her, all this upheaval.

DutchOma · 27/08/2007 12:26

Prayer needed here too. I know it is just above the prayer thread, but thought I would link it in with ours too. This comes so horribly close to home, it somehow seems worse.

OP posts:
CaptainDippy · 27/08/2007 12:35

Thank you for the link, DO - Praying ..... xx

PandaG · 27/08/2007 17:49

hello all

back from a lovely weekend with my family, havr left the DC for another week with my P's. Weather has been beautiful, I evem had a swim in the sea.

Praying for all health issues - Rosey, praying for the Chron's and your chest infection, and Worz, praying for your eye infection. Big hugs to your gorgeous 3.

So, how are the stick insects CD, and do they have names?

Praise God - he prompted me to have a heart to heart with my Mum this morning and it went well. I love her dearly but we are so similar and so we clash big time!

worzella · 27/08/2007 17:50

Could blame the Hiliday bit on my eye - but it's just my useless typing!! Praying for the lonk DO....

Beautiful day in Devon - the DCs had a great time on the beach - although DD hates the feel of sand ....

and congratulations Bobsmum!

Roseylea · 27/08/2007 19:43

Hello loves!

Hope you all had a lovely Bank holiday.

Just a v. quick one before I shuffle back off to my sick-bed - I'm feeling much worse today and I'm thinking I need to go back to the docs in the morning. I'm slightly worried about pneumonia, but I also have this real sense of peace. I was praying earlier and I was reminded of the verses "Not even a sparrow falls to the ground unless he wills it...you are worth more than moany sparrows" and "even the very hairs on your head are numbered". Isn't it amazing how God gives us peace beyond ourselves. (Above I realised I'd typed "his real sense of peace", yet another typo but a Freudian one! It is his peace he gives us. Praise God.

CaptainDippy · 27/08/2007 20:16

Bless you, Worz.

@ DC's being away for a week, Panda ... what are you going to do with yourself!!? Glad talk with your mum went ok!

Gosh - I am tired, going to have hot choc with DH and then hit the hay .....

"See" you tomorrow .... Love & Prayers. xxxx

CaptainDippy · 27/08/2007 20:18

older two, obviously .... see, it ain't just Rosey and Worz!

DutchOma · 27/08/2007 20:19

Oh Rosey, I'm sorry you feel so rough my darling, but had to laugh about the 'moany' sparrows. I'm sure the Lord cares even about them, how much more about you who are so precious to his Father heart.
Sleep well, all of you.

CaptainDippy · 27/08/2007 20:24

It wasn't just me who noticed then!!

podglet · 28/08/2007 07:29

Morning,

Get well wishes to the poorly people, rosey, that sounds really nasty - get thee to a medical man (or woman )

Had a lovely but tiring weekend, lots of birthdays, visiting people and general pottering about!

Harrissey - so pleased for DS, long may his happiness continue!

Little thoughts for me today if I may:

  1. we didn't exchange on Friday. Someone told us a whopper of a lie and it would appear that the chain below aren't ready and exchange is now planned for this Thurs. We are sticking to our completion date though so not all is lost.
  2. It looks like we are going to lose my gran today. Mum had a phone call from the nursing home yesterday to say she is fading fast. Mum is driving down today to be with her sisters and I am just waiting for the phone call I am in pieces already poor old Mum though, it was her birthday yesterday...
DutchOma · 28/08/2007 08:46

Podglet, I'm sorry.
Will pray for your mum and her sisters and for your Gran of course, that she will pass away with joy and not with sorrow.
May the Lord bless you in your endeavour to move house.

OP posts:
CaptainDippy · 28/08/2007 08:52

Oh Podglet - Praying it will be quick and painless - an release for her, but for you and your family. {{{{hugs}}}} xx Prayign for your hosue move too, stressful, isn't it!!? It is all still very raw in my memory - praying it all happens this week!

Morning! How is everyone today??

CaptainCaveman · 28/08/2007 11:28

Aww Podglet, praying for you, your mum and gran. May the Lord make her passing peaceful and joyous.

Poor ds is now feeling better and back at nursery. He said his two heads hurt - his forehead and his backhead!! Bless him.

Also, had to laugh at Moany sparrows. hee hee. Sorry, I know the sentiment behind it!

I'm tired but chilled out, Praise the Lord.

harrisey · 28/08/2007 11:29

((podglet)) I lost my Gran in April, its not easy. Praying for u all.

podglet · 28/08/2007 18:06

Just to let you know that Gran died at 4pm today. It was very peaceful which we can all be thankful for.

Thank you for your thoughts. Mum said that her parish vicar was there with Mum and her elder sister (the younger sister had to go home yesterday). Granny hadn't really been "there" all day but opened her eyes, focused on all of them, closed her eyes and slipped away.

Have given DS a big cuddle and had a little cry.

DutchOma · 28/08/2007 19:26

Bless you Podglet. May God give you strenth over the coming few days, preparing for the funeral and all that. So glad to hear she had a peaceful end, God is very good and she will be safe in Jesus' arms.

praying for you and your family poglet...

i spent 7 hours in casualty and outpatients yesterday - finally saw an eye bloke who said my eye infection was viral and I just have to sit it out. it could last 2 weeks or several months due to it being a particularly nasty strain.... please pray for a speedy recovery since i'm supposed to be going back to work after mat leave on tuesday for the start of term. i'm not allowed back with it because it's so contagious (I can't spell at the moment - good job I'm a maths teacher!!) Also pray that the 3DCs don't get it as it's really horrid

We're off to Paignton Zoo today..... although I really just want to go to sleep! The virus has wiped me out with flu-like symptoms

PandaG · 29/08/2007 08:56

Podglet - praying for you and your family.

Worz - praying that the infection clears up very quickly.
