Skyejuly · 19/12/2019 22:25

I am going to try make some freezer space!

BlankTimes · 20/12/2019 03:05

In my heart I'll be in Newgrange for Sunrise and in Maeshowe for sunset.

Newgrange www.ireland.com/en-gb/what-is-available/attractions-built-heritage/articles/winter-solstice/
Everybody gets this bit wrong. "The triple spiral stone in Newgrange’s inner chamber, so the locals said, was illuminated by the rising sun just once every year. But while many said it happened, no one had witnessed it. Until… "

The light beam cannot and does not shine on the triple spiral in the passageway because the triple spiral is NOT in the light beam's path. However, the light does allow the triple spiral to become visible at winter solstice sunrise.

Good morning- thanks for that link blanktimes Maeshowe in Orkney is a very special place.- the whole of Orkney in fact is incredible, and littered with ancient sites.

Lovely new ideas for ice candles YashmisCrone. I remember last year making some candles outside i buckets- I had watch a video.
Interesting to see the way water freezes when in a full container.
The outside next to the walls of the bucket freezes first, if left long enough - and it is cold enough it will freeze right the way though to the centre. but if you get there at the right time, you can pour off the water in the middle before it freezes, leaving a shell of ice in the shape of a bucket.
It worked quite well last year.

So when you posted that link about the balloon candles, I guessed the same process must happen, if you stop before the water fully freezes yuo can empty out the water in the middle leaving a shell- I had quick look on youtube, if you look here- this guy does just that- at about 0.42 into the video.

Off to buy some balloons!

I love the links! Thank you.

Yesterday 3 deer ran in front of me at seperate times. I do live in the country but this has not happened like this in 2 or 3 years!

YashmisCrone · 20/12/2019 08:35

Good morning,
I’m enjoying candlelight again before heading off to work a bit later.

Palmysterious lovely that you joined us at 8 last night. I don’t know if you’ve read about it here but 8am and 8pm are times we use to connect and raise energy if/when we can. All welcome. I’m glad you joined us!

BlankTimes wow to those ancient magical places in your links and thank you as ever for sharing your insight. Always takes me to a lovely, grounding and affirming place Crown Smile

speakout fabulous- thank you! My mind is full of ideas of ice and fire and I’m wondering if I have any balloons anywhere! Really looking forward to playing with these energies 🔥 🧊

Skye what a beautiful encounter, I love deer energy. Gentle and graceful yet strong. Wonderful.

Wishing everyone a magical day with treasure to be found in the shadows. Such a deeply nourishing energy just under the surface of all the froth that seems visible if we can take a few quiet moments to tune into it 💫

I enjoyed reading this reminder to listen to our bodies, thought others may too

Thank you for that link Blanktimes, I love reading about things like this, it's fascinating. I've never been to Ireland, but would love to go.

Speakout I remember the ice candles you made last year, they were beautiful. Do let us know how you get on with balloons. Is it cold enough where you are to make them outside? It's much too warm here for December- about 10 degrees and raining.

Skyjuly How lovely to see the deer, they're so special aren't they?

Yashmis I hope you enjoyed a few moments of peace in the candlelight before heading off to work.

I've got a day off today and looking forward to a rare day off with both my DS. We're going shopping, I know it's going to be so busy! One of the advantages of boys is that they don't hang around when they shop- they'll be in, buy what they need and out again, no messing! Then hopefully we can find somewhere to have a nice lunch.l

Love to you all ❤️

VioletCharlotte not cold enough yet to make outside unfortunately.

I had a lovely yoga class this morning, moon salutations. Honouring the inner divine!

Just to report balloon luminaries are working really well. Very easy to make. Just working out best freezing times, I was eager to see results so took the first one out after two hours. It holds its shape, but the walls were a little thin, so will try a ittle longer.
It looks very pretty.

I wil post pictures later.

VioletCharlotte · 20/12/2019 17:09

Speakout looking forward to seeing the results!

I'm back from a successful shopping trip. Really enjoyed spending the day with both DS. Time for a reviving shower now and relax before getting ready to see friends for Christmas drinks. Over the last few years I've cut right back on Christmas socialising and only make plans with people I really want to see, so I'm looking forward tonight and seeing two of my oldest friends.

Oh wow Speakout that's gorgeous 😊 I love all the light and colours, it's like a crystal ball. I wonder if you could use it for scrying?

speakout · 20/12/2019 19:55

VioletCharlotte thank you, I don;t know where the colours came from, The ice "glass" is full of "imperfections", so light and colours seem to be flying off. It is hollow, and moving around give different perpectives, so scrying would be a brilliant idea.

OP posts:
YashmisCrone · 20/12/2019 21:54

Wow!! I LOVE that! Looks fabulous and I agree about the colours. Really helpful to have process photos 🙏 Love the idea of fire/ice scrying. 🤍🔥

Skyejuly · 20/12/2019 22:21

Wow they look so good.

speakout · 21/12/2019 07:29

Thank you. And thanks to YashmisCrone for finding the idea of using balloons.

Regarding solstice celebrations- for me the special time is sunrise on the 23nd. That seems symbolic- it is the return of light, the start, the welcoming of the new dawn that feels powerful to me.
It is the start of the days lengthening again.
But I also mark the dark night- holding that place is very symbolic too.

My husband has just taken the kids to tesco. My house is still for the first time in ages. Silence.. oh and rain. Rain sounds so lovely. X
