I'd like to park here for a while if that's ok? Taking some time to read the other threads and find this path I feel drawn to

ChangeyMcChangeChange · 24/10/2019 19:56

Also just wanted to say, from what I have read so far this feels like such a positive and uplifting space to be

Just flying in to say hello. Anyone fancy a turmeric latte made with almond milk?

I am so pleased to gather round the aga and fill up a new thread with you all.

InTheTempest · 24/10/2019 21:57

Joining the new thread ☕️

Can't believe it's nearly 10,000 posts. I don't post much but love to follow the thread, it really is uplifting. It gave me a boost just over a year ago after I split with my ex especially.

Hope everyone has had a good day. Can really feel the nights drawing in- it's so cold tonight! Hot bath and bed I think

speakout · 25/10/2019 06:18

Good morning, just lighting the fire to warm up the new place.

Just a quick coffee before I get off to early morning yoga. It always seems so fitting to be doing sun salutations at sunrise..

My Everyday Witch Oracle cards arrived yesterday, but it was a very hectic day for me, right up to bedtime, and I hade no time alone.
So hopefully I will have some space today and a quiet moment, I wanted to wait to open the packaging and look at the cards with no distractions. So that will be a fine treat for myself later in the day.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Friday.

Good morning everyone.

A tumeric latte sounds amazing.

I hope you all have a great day. I'm now off work for half term so I'll be off to a local pumpkin patch later to get supplies for Halloween.

queenrollo · 25/10/2019 08:56

Morning everyone!

We had a wonderful but tiring trip abroad to see my papa. His health is much better thankfully.
He gave me the most amazing gift while I was there. A large and very old necklace made of amber. It has been his for over 20 years but he said he felt it was time for it to move on to me.
We both have quite powerful energy though and at times being together was difficult because of this.

I am not an easy traveller and cannot express how deeply I missed my home and how glad I am to be back here.
I am involved with some Halloween activites next week, and with that and my own preparations for Samhain I am feeling quite energised.
Though I have woken this morning with a headache and I feel this is the stress of the last few weeks mainifesting.

Blessings to you all and how wonderful to have reached 10 threads of love and support x

VioletCharlotte · 25/10/2019 10:11

Good morning everyone. I have to say, I'm pleased it's Friday. It's been a busy week, with far too much mundane and not enough magic! I'm working from home today with candles burning and essentials oils in my diffuser, attempting to restore a sense of calm and balance!

How amazing that we're on thread 10. Over 9000 posts so far and going strong! I love the warm, nurturing community we've created here ❤️ Thank you Speakout for starting the thread and thank you to all my wonderful sisters who have contributed 🙏

YashmisCrone · 25/10/2019 11:59

Happy Friday sisters Halloween Smile and thank you for lighting the fire speakout

Like you Violet, I’m glad it’s here! I hope your quest for calm and balance is successful.

queenrollo pleased to how well you managed your travels and that necklace sounds magical. I can relate to the post stress headache. It sometimes feels like our bodies can store it all up until we reach dry land and then we have to process it. I hope today is a gentle one for you.

Me too with the oracle cards speakout I’ve just spent a bit of time with them and as I expected they are full of uplifting, positive energy.

Thoughts so far are that they are a bit big for my seemingly small hands and I would have preferred them to be numbered but I love their positivity and the way they give different ideas as to how to work with the energy.

My first draw with our thread in mind yielded this. For anyone who it feels useful to. Very apt for me as it’s a lesson I’ve learned here. Thank you sisters.

As I’ve been writing this post I can hear the sound of bagpipes playing, blowing in on the wind. I’ve no idea where it’s coming from but I’m smiling as I think of speakout sharing a similar experience the other day. Magic 💫

I am having a very positive day, we are making a big move next year (London to the north east) and I have just secured a place at a lovely nursery that has its own woodland for my two year old. It's been a lot of work and heartache (some sad events have enabled the move) to get to this point but now I can see all the pieces starting to fall into place.

Does anyone have a suggestion of what I could do with a bag of fresh lavender flowers (just the flowers not stalks) they have been gifted by a good friend and I'd like to do something special. I'm sleeping well at the moment so wondered if there were anything else?

MurderOfGoths · 25/10/2019 13:18

Hi everyone, hope it's ok to join in? Last year's Samhain was a bit of a disappointment last year, I'm the only pagan I know so it can be a bit lonely, especially as others can be a bit down on all the Halloween stuff. This year I'm making a real effort, getting my kids involved. We bought pumpkins and decorations today, and I'm now looking for some ideas of stuff to do with them to introduce them to my beliefs. We've spoken about it before, but never really made a big deal of it.

speakout · 25/10/2019 17:04

MurderOfGoths

You are very welcome! Lovely to hear about the fun you are having with your children.
Can be a lonely path, I think many of us feel the same way.
But we have a bright strong community here and glad you could join us.

MurderOfGoths welcome! I'm glad you're looking forward to Halloween, I used to love it when my DC were little, we had some amazing parties!

There's plenty you can do to celebrate Samhain as a solo witch. I normally do a meditation and invite my ancestors in to join me. I burn candles in their honour and display their photographs on my altar. As the veil is at its thinnest at Samhain, it's the perfect time to practise tarot or connect with spirit and ask for guidance. I always find my energy levels are at their highest around Samhain.

agapanthus1979 · 26/10/2019 08:11

Hello everyone.
I'm enjoying the beginnings of my exploration of my witch side. I'm going to miss my first Samhain, which saddens me a bit (although I'm having a lovely holiday, so I'm not complaining!)
I do enjoy dropping in here to see what people are up to. So much diversity and variety!
Wishing everyone a peaceful day.

YashmisCrone · 26/10/2019 10:56

Good morning,

It’s wild one here- wet and windy. Energy to be tapped into!

Welcome MuderofGoths, it’s good to have you join us. Lovely to hear of you planning special times with your DC.

Change it’s lovely to hear you’re enjoying the threads- so many wormholes along the way!

Thinking about your lavender, here’s some ideas about how you could use it.

diyjoy.com/diy-projects-lavender-herbs/

Magically speaking, it’s a key ingredient in many spells and rituals around healing, purification, protection and love. Something I like to do if I want to manifest something (peace, prosperity, security etc) is to put together a little pouch, work some magic with it and carry it around with me so I keep the energy close. It’s a very personal thing but this kind of thing

witchofhowlingcreek.wordpress.com/2013/02/19/the-a-z-guide-to-charm-bags-part-1/

Whatever you do with it, it’s already infused with the love energy of friendship which is a great place to start I think!

agapanthus1979 good to hear you’re having a lovely holiday and also that you are enjoying your path as it unfolds.

My Samhain practice looks a lot like Violet’s but times when I’m otherwise occupied, I always try and find a moment to just tune into the energy of the special day.

A candle lit, a few quiet moments connecting with my ancestors in my mind, talking about them, choosing food that reminds me of an old family recipe, the colours I wear, scents I use etc. It’s not always practical or desirable to make a big celebration but little magical practices in amongst the day can help us connect with the energy. For me the intention is the most important ingredient. We’re all for weaving magic through our everyday experience here!

Wishing everyone a happy weekend 💫

madcatladyforever · 26/10/2019 10:59

Happy days, I've just moved to Glastonbury. I've wanted to move here for years but the right job never came up until now. I'm buying a house in a little village just outside. I'm so excited, lots of witchy stuff going on.

YashmisCrone · 26/10/2019 12:19

How exciting madcatladyforever! Congratulations!

ChangeyMcChangeChange · 26/10/2019 12:41

@Yashmiscrone thank you! I really like the idea of a charm bag and am drawn to the peace one. I think it would be very appropriate for me right now. there are a couple of others I will also look into.

Can anyone recommend a good place for supplies? Feel free to PM me if more appropriate

speakout · 26/10/2019 13:07

A bright sunny day here, and a quiet house!

ChangeyMcChangeChange what supplies do you need? I buy my supplies from many sources- most from mundane places.

Pound shops are good for craft, paper, string, , ribbon. Asian shops great for spices and incense, charity shops for fabric, burners, little containers, fabric, books etc.
I buy a lot from Amazon and ebay too.
A lot of things can be gathered from nature- stones, bark, herbs, feathers, shells.
I don't have any decent pagan shops near me but I can always find what I need nearby- if not then I improvise.

InTheTempest · 26/10/2019 15:02

Madcatlady how fantastic! I'd love to live in Glastonbury. When my DC are grown up I think I'll move there. One of my favourite places.

Poor DD is unwell so we are having a lazy day on the sofa watching more Harry Potter. Plenty of magic in this house 🌟

ChangeyMcChangeChange · 26/10/2019 15:34

@speakout I guess just if there was anywhere recommended for a good browse but if Amazon and eBay are worth looking into I will do that. I know I also have plenty of bits and bobs at home too. I'm going to be very time poor for the next six or so months but will have more time for foraging from next summer hopefully.

ChangeyMcChangeChange · 26/10/2019 15:38

And congratulations @madcatladyforever ! We are making a big move next year and it's very exciting when everything starts to slot into place. Enjoy your new home
