I am the only one awake right now, so just doing some quiet pottering. No rain, just birdsong. Still dark here.

They have just got back. I savoured those 3 hours. Probably my lady for months!

Afternoon sisters ,
Those ice candles are stunning , and we don't need subzero temperatures outside.
Funny enough I've plenty of room in my freezer , and fridge and cupboards .
I'm waiting on some invoices being settled hopefully on Monday which has forced me to be inventive with foodstuffs already in and to spend the weekend in blissful peace at home. Can you tell I do not mind one jot ?
Hopefully another happy consequence is that I won't buy too much . We don't need a lot . Booze , snacks , some sort of vegan roast to have with traditional sides . You get the gist.
I've had a blessed day , peppermint oil in the diffuser and peppermint tea in a proper China cup.
My familiars snoring the day away.
I've asked my dh to get me Women who Run with Wolves , I expect many of you have read it . I have a memory of owning it decades ago and I never throw anything away , so where is it ?
Knowing me I've drunkenly insisted someone take it this instant because it will change their life !
I really had to stop doing that , I was giving away all my favourites.
I'm looking forward to the solstice but I'm not quite sure how to mark it yet. I want to create something , that itch of wanting something unique that came from me.
I'm an awful dabbler , dabble at needle work , dabble at cooking , dabble at tarot .Once I get a flavour of it I'm thinking of the next thing .
Does anyone here keep a Grimoire ?
That is something I started that I have remained committed to .
I try to keep track of spellwork and mediations and minor oddness in my life. Things that seem inconsequential at the time have much more significance when we zoom out.
Talking of tarot I think a card per day would be interesting.

Ate our bread in front of roaring Yule log and magical flame pinecones, after my daughter had taken the bread outside to ask the moon to return the sun!

She came up with this last year when she was 4. Shows how humans are inherently pagan!

I was going to use my ice globes through the night but I have got them out now with an intention to bring light to the darkness for those in need of it. I like the magic of transformation as the ice melts. May a spark of light and a promise of change bring comfort where there is darkness

I've felt a shift in the energy today. I feel calmer than I have done just recently. After all the rain we've had recently, today is dry and bright, it's so nice to see the sun again, and perfect weather for dog walking ❤️

Had a solstice celebration with my 2 youngest daughters last night as they have been at their Dads today

Yesterday was busy for me but I carved out time in the evening for candles, reflection and some card reading. (Thank you Violet for the tarot spread suggestion) It felt like a peaceful and sacred time.

The way my house is laid out means that I rarely close the living room curtains- this room is at the back of the house and upstairs so no one can see in. Just as I was thinking that I really should get to bed I looked up at the window, out to the night sky. At that very moment I saw a beautiful, bright and clear shooting star! It was so beautiful and felt very meaningful given the timing. The perfect solstice gift. I made a wish, it was a collective one so we should all feel the beautiful expansive starlight energy as we move through the coming days.

The fire is especially warm here to bring comfort and guard against winter chills.

I have just woken- slept 11 hours last night- the past few days have been challenging, but energies are calmer in the home right now.

Hopefully a quiet day, just a few things to do, I had intened to get up early to buy a few grocery items, but didn't set an alarm because I wanted to sleep as long as I could.

Off for a warming shower, I treated myself to a facial at home yesterday, I was in need of nurturing, so will use some of my lovley new products ( some home made, some I bought) and indulge myself this morning.

I look forward to chatting later throughout the day.

Morning Speakout, it's so good to hear you've been taking care of yourself and listening to what your body needs. At this time of year, it's easy to get overwrought and end up making ourselves ill. A little TLC goes a long way 😊

I've been to the supermarket, I thought I'd go early before it got too busy. I didn't need too much as we're not home Christmas Day or Boxing Day, but wanted dinner for tonight and a few treats! I'm having a coffee now before heading out for a walk with my dog. It's a lovely day here, dry, bright and not too cold, so I'm looking forward to a good walk.

Lovely to hear of your day. Just back from Lidl picking up a few essentials, now sitting with a Danish pastry and a coffee.
Decided not to bother with lots of the household tasks I was going to do today.
I had planned to hoover the stairs, sweep and mop the kitchen floors clean windows.

I have decided to score those things off the list.
Kitchen will get a quick sweep, and that's it.

I’m enjoying my coffee whilst doing some wrapping and taking the day slowly. The big fir cones on my mantle piece that I gathered in the woods have opened themselves up in the warmth, I have my candles lit. I’m taking pleasure in these things.

DS and DD still asleep, OH off shopping, thankfully my flapping mother has decided to go to a church service, so will have some time to spin more peace and calm.

I have such a lovely image of you spinning peace and calm speakout, I hope that your mother returned less flappy. Mine’s the same energetically and whilst not physically in my space I have to make an effort not to absorb it.
Although I have to say there’s a definite air of flap, bordering on hysteria out there in the world these past few days, seems to be the general mood. Not buying into it- being a queen helps

Pleased to report calm in the house. candles lit, dim light is so good at hiding dust!
Light is dimming now, so just lit half a dozen candles, and carrying the calm I have managed to conjour.
