A new thread for a new year. If you would like to pause, breathe and count your blessings, this is the place for you.

Everyone is welcome, we love to see new faces. It doesn't matter whether you have a faith of any kind or no faith at all; whether you post every day or just once: whether your blessings are great or small. Please drop by and be welcome.

Sad Sorry to hear that. Hope you have time to rest and get wrapped up warm. More temperature drops this week are not helpful at all. Much chocolate and tea and nice things on telly Thanks Thanks.

rewardformissingmojo · 09/02/2016 07:06

Thankful for a few minutes of peace and mumsnet while I feed my baby, before chaos of school run.

Hello kinky and less and everyone else. I'm back to try and count my blessings more in lent. Starting with gratitude for my lovely best 'MN' friend who is wise and kind and generous in equal measure.

rewardformissingmojo · 11/02/2016 07:28

Morning all!
Today I'm grateful that everyone's awake - should make getting ready for school easier!
Also I have a meeting with a chap from a charity, who will be considering my application for funding to set up an After School Club. This is very exciting, it feels like progress.

Hope you have good days planned.

EdithSimcox · 11/02/2016 10:12

Thankful today in this very tiring week for my job which not only puts food on the table for me and my family, and a roof over our heads, but is also challenging, rewarding, difficult and sometimes exhausting but almost never boring.

Movingonmymind · 11/02/2016 22:15

Evening, missed this thread!

Am grateful that ds is okay, thst I have a job that keeps me busy, provides an income. That ddog is so reliably affectionate and loving.

Pretendingtobe31 · 11/02/2016 22:30

Evening! I'm having a difficult time at work at the moment, so thought this would be a good place to remember all the wonderful things I am blessed with.

Wonderful partner
Happy home
Fantastic friends
A lovely cup of tea in bed

Lessstressedhemum · 12/02/2016 09:54

Pretending, Flowers hope things get better.
Edith, you are often in my prayers.

Gratitudes
This season of Lent. It's not really a big deal in the CoS, but it is an opportunity for me to draw closer to God and to strive to become more the person he wants me to be
DS3 seems to be taking college a bit more seriously
DD appears to be on the mend, another horrendous throat infection with her throat leaking blood again
The support of friends
Sunshine and signs of Spring to come
The support of friends

So very much to be grateful for every single day.

Thank you less, that's kind :) How are you feeling?

My gratitude today is for my 3 wonderful DC, who are loving, caring and kind, as well as beautiful, clever and talented (!) and who do something to impress me every day. They are a joy, and an inspiration. Half term starts today, yay!!

Movingonmymind · 12/02/2016 12:31

Best wishes to all virtual Flowers and Chocolate to help those struggling and or doing Lent and giving up the latter.

Today, I'm grateful for some intermittent sunshine, ddog, a bit of time to reflect. Warmth on a cold day.

KinkyDorito · 13/02/2016 13:14

Hope everyone is okay.

I am very grateful for the weekend and half term (even though I am at work on Monday still and have a ton of marking to do). Hopefully I will get caught up and feel more in control.

Time today for cups of coffee, crochet and films. Smile Smile

I am ignoring the housework. Grin

EdithSimcox · 13/02/2016 22:34

My gratitude today is for my DDad who tells good stories and makes me laugh even when I've heard them all before and who is patient and kind and coping brilliantly with difficult circumstances.

EdithSimcox · 14/02/2016 08:21

Today, on Velentine's Day, I give thanks for my DP. We have had our ups and downs but we are both still here working hard on making it work, she has battled some fierce demons for me, and she is a brilliant committed mum to our DC. I love you DP.

KinkyDorito · 14/02/2016 09:08

Smile Edith.

I'm with you today, grateful for DH. He caught a bus into town on his way home to go and buy me a box of chocolates. That's a big deal for me after his long day. He didn't need to.

I'm also grateful we have some time together today, so will be heading out into the sunny morning for a bit of a walk.

I'm not grateful for the state of the house though, since my massive housework avoid yesterday... Plan to continue avoiding today and then steal myself for a LONG day tomorrow.

Hope everyone has a lovely Sunday. Daffodil Daffodil Daffodil

Lessstressedhemum · 14/02/2016 15:54

For dh and family
For a beautiful service this morning
For sunshine and line dried washing (one of my favourite things)
For all the birds flocking to my feeders and the beautiful sound of their songs
Flowers for everyone this glorious Sunday

OP posts:
Movingonmymind · 14/02/2016 16:42

Well, not for dh for a few minutes peace, finally, for ddog snd a hot water bottle. Romance is dead, bah humbug! Seriously, it is good to hear that some of you have romance/mutual appreciation after a few years together/challenges/kids. That's positive.

Movingonmymind · 15/02/2016 07:51

A new day, clear dawn, ddog, lovely birdsong.

EdithSimcox · 15/02/2016 11:13

Inspired by tuo's lent reading for the day, I am grateful today for all the ways in which I get support to deal with difficult things - web forums (MN, MS society, Alzheimer's society...), friends, church, colleagues etc.

EdithSimcox · 15/02/2016 11:16

And I didn't mean to leave God off that list Blush - the psalm 23 type one Grin

Lent and the chance to grow in faith
Shelter, we are back to horrible winter storms

EdithSimcox · 17/02/2016 00:11

Yesterday and today (and once a week all winter) I've been at the local night shelter. My thanks today are not only for the organisation that runs it, the many volunteers who make things go smoothly, and the lovely people who work there, but also for the guests, who make me feel useful, and whose good nature and resilience are inspiring.
