Welcome to our new prayer thread for summer. This is a safe and supportive place of prayer, where regulars, occasional visitors and lurkers, committed Christians and those just dipping a toe into the water are all equally welcome. Come and leave a prayer, tell us what's going on in your life, bring your worries, hopes, fears and joys to God, and know that you will be prayed for.

We pray, in particular, for...

... ALittleFaith, for her dad to recover well after his recent operation;

... amberlight, for her work raising awareness of the ways in which we can work to make life easier for our autistic friends, and for her to know love and acceptance wherever she goes;

... Badvoc and her family, as they grieve for her dad and for her aunt, and also for her decision about her DS's schooling, and for his health;

... BlackEyedSusan, for all the many things which she has to juggle in her life as a single parent; in particular, we pray for her mum's health, and for health for both her DC, and for her to feel welcomed, accepted and supported at her church;

... BlessedAssurance, for her life with her new baby, for her relationship with her MIL, and for her family who are far away;

... Bluetinkerbell, for her DH's training to go well;

... CharlotteCollins, for her new life as a single mum - may she be happy and fulfilled and supported in it;

... DidotheDodo, thanking God for the safe arrival of her granddaughter;

... DontstepontheMomeRaths, for her life as a single mum, for her finances, for bullying issues around her DD, and for the wonderful work she does through her church supporting people going through separation and divorce;

... DutchOma, as she grieves for Bob, that she may find peace of mind, love and support at this time; also praying for her relationship with her DD, in particular;

... Gingercurl, for her brother who has been out of contact - may be be safe and well, and may he be in touch with Ginger or her sister soon;

... Iwantdogger, for her pregnancy - may her little one hand on in there and grow and develop strong and healthy;

... jan2014 for her decision to split with her DH, and for health and energy for her; also praying for her brother and his family, for his difficulties with alcohol;

... JugglingFromHereToThere, for her sister and her family as they grieve the loss of Juggling's nephew;

... Kaykat, continuing to pray for her and her DS as she goes through the stressful and painful process of divorce;

... MadHairDay, for health for all in the MHD household, and for less stressful times for her DC

... PandaG, as she and her family grieve the loss of her mum;

... PositiveAttitude, as she gets used to living with her DH again after a long time apart and for her new work as a Deacon in her church; also praying for PA's parents' health, and for her DDs and DS in their various situations;

... Question of Faith, for her and for her DH - for his depression to lift and for them to rediscover their love for one another and their lives together;

... Roomforalittleone, for her DS who has pneumonia, and for a good outcome from her Reader panel;

... thegreenheartofmanyroundabouts, after the loss of a close family friend, and for the work that she does with others who are bereaved;

... tunnocksteacake and her family as they cope with her DH's illness;

... weegiemum for strength to cope with her illness; and for

... ZingWhale as she approaches the end of her pregnancy.

We pray also for all regular and occasional visitors, and those we haven't seen for a while, including: boxofdelights, bountyicecream, CheerfulYank, cloutiedumpling, EasyCompadre, FairPhyllis, fluffieduckie, FriendOfDorothy, GoodbyeRubyTuesday, harbinger, JakeBullet, ktef, LollipopViolet, MaryBS, NeverKnowinglyUnderstood, niminypiminy, notquiteagrownup, PloddingDaily, revivingshower, saintsalive, SchrodingersFerret, SEStheBrave, Soozi, SunshinemMum, thehorridestmumintheworld, trish5000, youretoastmildred, and zulubump, and for anyone I've forgotten to name-check (don't take it personally, please!). And we pray for those who read and pray but don't post, for those who need our prayers but are afraid or too uncertain to post them, and for all those known to us in our own lives who need God's love.

Calm us, O Lord, as You stilled the storm.
Still us, O Lord, keep us from harm.
Let all the tumult within us cease.
Enfold us, Lord, in Your peace. Amen.

Being very thankful that Chris is here. All the way from the Wirral in that awful wind yesterday. She brought the Fisher Price garage that was for sale in the Wirral and had to be collected. It has three cars and men, two men with hats and the little blue girl that has long been lost from our old garage.

BlackeyedSusan · 22/10/2014 08:06

ds is off school with diarrhoea. fabulous.

Dutchoma · 22/10/2014 08:12

Can't call it toddler diarrhea any more, I suppose. Lucky him ...and you... NOT. Have you got a working washing machine?

BlackeyedSusan · 22/10/2014 09:45

shhh... don't jinx it

I think this is proper tummy bug sort. he has been out of sorts for a few days. refusing food. unheard of. even when he has been sick he has demanded food immediately.

madhairday · 23/10/2014 11:01

Hope he is better today BES ?

Mome, you're totally right and he is wrong. He does need to have them overnight a bit before doing that kind of thing, not fair on them at all, or you. Prayers for sorting it out.

Well, we've finally made school decision, phew. Now to forget about it.

We're off tomorrow to stay for a few days at where dh and I met, to celebrate 20 years since we met there, very excited but it's a long drive in Friday half term rush hour traffic.

BlackeyedSusan · 23/10/2014 14:55

still at home but should be well enough for tomorrow.

amberlight · 23/10/2014 18:04

Keeping prayers going for all.
And a prayer of thanks - the four year checkup for cancer was a good result today.

PositiveAttitude · 23/10/2014 21:10

Brilliant Amber. Grin

MHD have a lovely romantic time away. Are your DC going too?

madhairday · 23/10/2014 23:34

Yes they're coming too to see where they originate from! :)

Tuo · 24/10/2014 00:15

Giving thanks for amber's positive cancer check-up.

Praying for safe travels for the MHD family and a lovely few days away.

Praying for a swift recover for young Master BES.

Praying for Momey, to be able to make her point - and, as others have said, yes, of course you are right! Smile - clearly and calmly to XH.

Continuing to hold in prayer, Kaykat, howto, and the person whose posts were deleted.

This is from the Northumbria Community's Daily Office for today:

As the rain hides the stars,
as the autumn mist hides the hills,
happenings of my lot
hide the shining of Thy face from me.
Yet, if I may hold Thy hand
in the darkness,
it is enough;
since I know that,
though I may stumble in my going,
Thou dost not fall.

Life is just incredibly discouraging at the moment. I don't want to post about it, but if I could have prayers for stability and general boringness in my life I would be very grateful. Thank you

BlackeyedSusan · 24/10/2014 21:21

(hugs) purple

PurplePidjin · 24/10/2014 21:37

Thank you Brew

BlackeyedSusan · 24/10/2014 23:49

grr .ds is still not quite right.

DontstepontheMomeRaths · 25/10/2014 10:02

The children are playing so nicely this morning but they're turning the flat upside down in the process Grin Toys everywhere. It doesn't take long in a 2 bed flat.

I think ExH now understands why I said no. Thanks for prayers. It wasn't a never, just not yet.

He's thinking about applying for Police. He works in security. I'm happy for him to try. He tried ten years ago and never heard back. I am aware though that it would mean for a whole year he'd be earning a lot less and wouldn't see kids much. But it's a good career, although shift work but he does that already. I'd have to trust God for provision if he reduced his already measly monthly contribution to the kids and me though! We shall see.

I'm going to try and do some work from home this morning. I've got so much to do. Works manic right now. I declare a pj day here!

MHD enjoy your break.

Purple hope you're ok.

BES hope DS is better now?

Kay how are things?

Howto how you doing?

cloutiedumpling · 25/10/2014 10:30

TUO - I love that from the Northumbrian Community. I'm very familiar with mist and hills and the mental pictures it conjures up are great.

BlackeyedSusan · 25/10/2014 13:34

I am nursing a bruised face. someone had a meltdown.

Dutchoma · 25/10/2014 15:09

Sad Will it be worse or better in he holidays?

BlackeyedSusan · 25/10/2014 21:44

better.

KayKat · 26/10/2014 06:07

Things are difficult especially with DS. I am feeling overwhelmed with it all.

DontstepontheMomeRaths · 26/10/2014 07:06

Oh Kaykat. Praying
