A new Christian prayer thread, just in time for Easter!

Welcome to our new prayer thread... just in time for Holy Week and Easter.

This is a safe and supportive place of prayer, where regulars, occasional visitors and lurkers, committed Christians and those just dipping a toe into the water are all equally welcome. Come and leave a prayer, tell us what's going on in your life, bring your worries, hopes, fears and joys to God, and know that you will be prayed for.

We pray, in particular, for...

... amberlight, for her work raising awareness of the ways in which we can work to make life easier for our autistic friends, and for her to know love and acceptance wherever she goes;

... Badvoc and her family, as they grieve for her dad and for her aunt - this has been a very tough time for the family... may spring bring them happier times;

... BlackEyedSusan, for all the many things which she has to juggle in her life as a single parent; in particular, we pray for her mum's health, and for both her DC to receive the support that they need at school, and for her to feel welcomed, accepted and supported at her church;

... BlessedAssurance, for breast-feeding to settle down for her following the birth of her baby son, for her relationship with her extended family (and in particular her MIL and her bonkers baby-naming ideas ), and for her parents who are far away;

... CharlotteCollins, for her new life as a single mum - may she be happy and fulfilled and supported in it;

... DontstepontheMomeRaths, for her life as a single mum, for support for her to do all the things she'd like to be able to do, for her DC, for difficult relationships at work, and for the wonderful work she does through her church supporting people going through separation and divorce;

... DutchOma, as she grieves for Bob, that she may find peace of mind, love and support at this time;

... Gingercurl, for her relationship with her DH, for the final 'tweaks' to her thesis, and for friendship for her DS;

... ALittleFaith, for baby Faithlet as she approaches her first birthday, for Faith's work to bring her joy and not exhaustion, and for her to find happiness and fulfilment in her church;

... jan2014 for her to understand what the right thing to do is vis-a-vis her relationship with her DH, and for her to have the courage to do what needs to be done, and to find support in doing it; also for her new church to be a place where she finds love and support and welcome;

... JugglingFromHereToThere, for her sister and her family as they grieve the loss of Juggling's nephew;

... Kaykat, giving thanks that she is now settled and happy in her new home with her DS, and continuing to pray for her situation, that she receive the moral and practical support she needs for herself and her DS

... MadHairDay, for her health to improve this spring and for her to stay out of hospital, and for health, friendship, and freedom from bullying for MHD's DD;

... PandaG, as she and her family grieve the loss of her mum; and for

... PositiveAttitude, praying for the right outcome for PA's DH as he decides between a career opportunity at home and a return to Cambodia; also praying for PA's parents health, for her DD3 and DGS as they move into their own home, and for her other three DDs and one DS in their various situations; and finally praying for peace for PA herself and - whatever happens work-wise in the UK and/or abroad - for God to provide for her and her family.

We pray also for all regular and occasional visitors, and those we haven't seen for a while, including: boxofdelights, bountyicecream Bluetinkerbell, CheerfulYank, cloutiedumpling, EasyCompadre, FairPhyllis, fluffieduckie, FriendOfDorothy, GoodbyeRubyTuesday, harbinger, JakeBullet, ktef, LollipopViolet, MaryBS, NeverKnowinglyUnderstood, niminypiminy, notquiteagrownup, PloddingDaily, revivingshower, RoomForALittleOne, saintsalive, SchrodingersFerret, SEStheBrave, Soozi, SunshinemMum, thegreenheartofmanyroundabouts, thehorridestmumintheworld, trish5000, weegiemum, youretoastmildred, ZingSweetApple, and zulubump, and for anyone I've forgotten to name-check (don't take it personally, please!). And we pray for those who read and pray but don't post, for those who need our prayers but are afraid or too uncertain to post them, and for all those known to us in our own lives who need God's love.

Keep Your people, Lord, in the arms of Your embrace.
Shelter them under Your wings.
Be their light in darkness.
Be their hope in distress.
Be their calm in anxiety.
Be strength in their weakness.
Be their comfort in pain.
Be their song in the night. Amen

the weather is fantastic here today. there is rain and cloud all day and the uv is not predicted to get above 2 and ds does not have to wear suncream!

I just wanted to take a few minutes to thank God for something great that happened recently. My mum was putting firewood together back home and a tiny piece of it stuck her in the eye and broke. She said the pain was nothing she had ever felt. Went to the local clinic where there are no doctors available. However the nurses that are there took one look at her and gave her morphin or some tranguiliser..took out the piece of wood out of her eye and cleaned it proper. She told me that when they took it out it the relief was incredible and felt like a woman contracting and later giving birth:) She is on the mend and says the eye is doing well and only the redness is left. I had tears in my eyes when she was telling me that. Thank you Lord for those quick thinking nurses who were actually willing to help. If she had not rushed to the clinic asap she could have lost her eye.

BA thank you for sharing that story and thank you God for helping BA's mother and saving her sight.

Just popping in

I had a lovely holiday but it's taken me until now to get unpacked and all the washing done plus sort out a million other things. I have been keeping you in my prayers and I will read through properly and pray for you all now, with love. Hope you all had a good half term.

grr. irrationally upset at getting the letter tellingme that they are writing off my car. got to take the hire car back on saturday. mum has had a bag stolen. ds is not talking to me and tantrumming after yesterday's late night.dd has stepped in a puddle up to her middle and got her trainers and insoles wet. we have run out of bananas and this is a disaster to ds, the fridge is still playing up, I have not had the cheque for the car, worried about finding the V5 for the car. still got back ache, ds kicked water in my face (accidently but mucky puddle water) I can't get my money back from the PA after buying a cardi that is not mendable. the school is going to be an academy and the governors are not going to have say over who the new head teacher is going to be. (on the bright side I suppose they did not do too well last time) nothing major but lots of little things.

BlessedAssurance · 04/06/2014 22:15

Dh just reminded me that it is my birthday tomorrow. The day would have come and i would not even have known. It was going to pass without DH to remind me of it. Is this what becomes of one's life after kids? Forgetting oneself? .

BlackeyedSusan · 04/06/2014 22:28

happy birthday for tomorrow. Thanks

Cake

Entice it back into its cage with treats. Make a trail of them. Meanwhile prayers.

DontstepontheMomeRaths · 04/06/2014 23:19

Fastest prayer answer ever! There he was in the kitchen. Took 20 mins of listening quietly and staying still to locate him. I heard his munching on something under the fridge.

He had got out of the ball awhile ago. I hadn't realised. He's had a good adventure but God definitely helped me find him. I wouldn't have slept well worrying about where he was. Glad I live in a small flat and have no cats! Now I can sleep well.

BlackeyedSusan · 05/06/2014 07:35

Welcome to newbies and prayers, especially for neverthebride that you may see how much God values and loves you and be held in his arms today.

BlessedAssurance · 05/06/2014 12:07

Thank you lovely Mnetters. I am feeling the love today, not only from all of you but I feel God has made this day special. It started last night with the kids actually being in bed and sleeping at 8.30pm.I. Both of them. The first time I had an evening to myself and I ended up whipping up some nice sugar buns for myself and Dh.

This morning DD refused to go to daycare. Never done it before. The three of us slept for an hour. I woke up while the kids were still sleeping and folded my laundry. When I finished the kids woke up. Fed Ds who immediately went back to sleep without as much of a fuss. That gave me time alone with DD and we have done some baking which she loved.

Mumsnet. This has been a fabulous day indeed and the icing on the cake is my boobs which normally play up are not bothering me for a change. Thank you Lord for another beautiful year. You have blessed me so much and I take nothing for granted.

A lovely day I have hadGrin

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BA Thanks Thanks Thanks So pleased that you have had had a good day.

I was pleased, too, about the hamster Mome. Bunny prayers were only answered with a clump of fur! Friends were ok about it though!

Dh is back in 20 days time. I am beginning to get so excited, but there is so much I need to do before he arrives.

After much deliberating and prayers I have been nominated for a deacon at our church. Voting day is the day after DH arrives back. I am quite laid back. If God wants me to do it, I will get in, if not I wont, but please pray that I wont panic or feel rejected if I dont get in. I really am not bothered, so I shouldn't react like that, but after the rejection earlier in the year I am concerned those feelings will return.....not sure I am explaining myself too well, you probably all think I am just rambling.......

BlackeyedSusan · 05/06/2014 13:45

I get it PA.
