CaptainDippy · 23/01/2006 09:04

Hello - Due to popular demand, I have set up this thread so that MNers can post their prayer requests!! You do not have to be a Christian to post a prayer request, but we Christians believe that prayer really works, so let us pray through a situation for you!! - Let's support and encourage one another through this facility - Here's to many MN prayers being answered!!

OP posts:
katzg · 06/02/2006 20:15

poppiesinaline · 06/02/2006 20:55

I'm on a roll with praying for jobs at the mo' so will do Katzg.

Thanks CaptainDippy.

NASWM · 06/02/2006 21:31

Hi everyone. Can I have a little prayer for tomorrow afternoon please? Thanks. I've not been around for a few days but have been trying to catch up tonight. Thanks

CaptainDippy · 07/02/2006 08:12

Hello all! Will pray for you and your dream job katzg - you amazing cake-maker, you!! I am going away with DH to Paris for a couple of days today so I'm not going to be around - Do update and I'll read what we've all been up to when I get back - Please pray DH and I can have a wonderful, lovely time and not miss our little ones too much!! It is the first time we've been away from them (not through our own personal choice mind!! ) So please please pray grnadma and grndpa will be ok looking after them = worried about what I am going to come home to!! Argh!!

Check in with you guys in a couple of days!!

poppiesinaline · 07/02/2006 09:54

Ahh, have a lovely time CaptainDippy. DH and I are planning to go away without the kids for a couple of nights in June (1st time I would have left them over night) and I am stressing already!! You can let me know how it was and give me some tips.

NASWM - I am praying for you this afternoon. Hope it goes ok. Try and enjoy your hour without the kids focusing on you.

Verytiredmum · 07/02/2006 12:40

Wow! Great thread, lovely idea. Just found it as I am a very irregular mner - 20 lunchbreak twice a week is just not long enough!

Don't suppose it is worth asking someone for a special heading on MN is it? Dipping into huge threads is just mindblowing trying to take it all in.

I'll be praying for everyone on the thread on my way home from work this afternoon.

Lonelymum · 07/02/2006 13:40

NASWM, you are in my thoughts right now.

As I have a poorly dd home today, I would like to suggest we pray for all the poorly children here on Mumsnet right now. There do seem to be a lot of them unfortunately. I particularly need your prayer at this time too as I am an emetophobe (fear of vomit) which has recently spread in my mind to a fear of any illness so I am not feeling very strong right now.

NASWM · 07/02/2006 16:53

LM I've prayed for you and your daughter at this difficult time of illness for you both. I hope it is short-lived. Thanks for thinking of me today. I was very aware of lots of prayer support.

Poppies - thanks also. It was very good this afternoon. I shall tell you more when I can. Good to catch up soon.

NASWM x

mistressmiggins · 07/02/2006 20:42

have a lovely tim Captain Dippy and dont worry about LOL!!
they'll be fine even if a little spoilt

everyone on my prayer list

bangersandmash · 07/02/2006 22:11

just wanted to say thankyou for including me here. i did actually say sorry for the comment i made but these things do tend to get unnoticed. i am still sort of around but dont really feel able to use mn as i used to as i really do feel that many people would rather i disappeared off somewhere else.

Aimsmum · 07/02/2006 22:15

Message withdrawn

KateF · 07/02/2006 22:21

bangersandmash-hello . Hope you're feeling ok. We've been praying for you. There have been some other fairly fierce threads recently and a lot of people are feeling bruised. I hope mumsnet is strong enough to move on from this. I thought of stopping using it too but I really need the support I've found here to get me through bad times.
Lets all try ti live and let live hey!

Aero · 07/02/2006 22:30

b&m

KateF · 07/02/2006 23:03

Can I please request continuing prayer for the Dunne family. Philip had 6 hours of surgery on Sunday to place a pump in his heart but he still desperately needs a transplant. Please pray for him and for Victoria and their sons, they must feel desperate

bangersandmash · 08/02/2006 01:19

i know katef but theres been a couple of threads recently that i was on where certain posters made it quite clear they were fed up of me. i guess i could be reading too much into it but a culmination of comments made me have enough. it seemed it was ok to call me all the names under the sun (without swearing) but as soon as i pointed out they were too fitted the names they were giving me they just couldnt/wouldnt see it.

i'll give it another day or two and see how i feel as to whether i come back properly or not. ive had a lot of support of some people on here and id hate to lose it.

i'll add these things on here to my prayer list regardless.

ps aero - saw your message thanks

champs · 08/02/2006 01:53

wow what a great thread!! only just seen it. I dont vist the religion boards as i dont really wish to read certain threads and missed it!!
will add this to my watch list.

B&M didn't see what went on, been out of the loop here for a while. so dont have anything to say about that but i do feel you should be here the same as anyone should. remember: There is no condemnation for those that love the Lord xxx

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 08/02/2006 08:09

b&m assuming you are who i think you are.... [[hugs]]

sorry i havent been about for a while, the nasty virus bug thing has hit hard coupled with a nasty chest infection and ive been laid up in bed pretty much 24/7 since saturday.

hope we are all doing well, praying for you all xxx

katzg · 08/02/2006 08:53

is there any chance of a quick summary of prayer requests?

i was going to try and do one but i really should be doing some work! especailly if i want that new job so how about copying the list below and adding your request,

Katzg - New Job

Lonelymum · 08/02/2006 13:04

I asked for your prayers for all the Mumsnetters sick children as there seem to be so many. I hope someone is keeping that one near the top of the list as it is so close to all our hearts I suspect.

SMALL HIJACK ALERT:

B&M is this a pseudonym for something else? If you are the person who recently left for being brave enough to stand by your views re homosexuality, please don't leave! There may well be some people who don't care for your views, but if we all felt the same way, life would be very boring. I have always respected your ability to say things that others would not have the courage to say. I have to say I sometimes find Mumsnet very monochrome in the views it finds acceptable to express so I would very much like you to return and for more people (myself included maybe) to have the courage to stand up and be counted.

longwaytogo · 08/02/2006 16:42

Hello bangersandmash. I think you have the ability to put into words what many others are thinking but just don't have the ability to do. So please don't leave because if you do then views like mine and yours probably won't be expressed. Not that I saw the thread but praying for you anyway.

MarsOnLife · 08/02/2006 16:51

summary: (I think)

katzg new job
longwaytogo new job starting
NASWM - wants prayer
lonelymum - sick child, also MNetters sick child
JARM - been ill
katef - Dunne family, Phillip needs new heart
CaptainDippy - time away with DH
Mars - 2 dads at school needing jobs, 1 friend with non-Hodgkinson lymphoma and family as they are self-employed

I think that's it for now.

katzg · 08/02/2006 20:37

fab thanks mars - makes it so much easier for me!

Redtartanlass · 08/02/2006 22:15

What a beautiful, beautiful thread, and I will keep watching and sending out my prayers. I must add I am not at all religious, but believe in anything that is good in the world and this is a good thread.

There is a lot of research into religion, where experiments are carried out the effects of prayer. Very interesting and uplifting results.

have a wee look at this

At this moment in time, I am a very blessed person, and shall be praying for those on this thread.

CaptainDippy · 10/02/2006 10:50

Bonjour!! Hello one and all!! Good to see that stuff has been happening here since I have been away - Thank you ever so much for the summary Mars, you star!!

I had a lovely, if a little exhausting time away with DH in Paris - I think we did just about everything that there is to be done in the beautiful city - absolutely flat-out, but loads of fun and so nice to have a break from my gorgeous girlies!! Thank you so much for your prayers - I did have a nice time although, bit of a nightmare cos we left loads of messages for MIL and FIL to call us to let us know how everything was going and they never called. We arrived back in England last night to loads of frantic calls on all our answer phones (mobiles and house phone) from DD1's nursery saying that she had a REALLY high temp (42 degrees!) and could someone please please come and pick her up. They couldn't get hold of anyone and in-laws are the emergency contacts for nursery and should have been looking after them!! It was horrible and I was so so so so I have calmed down now and had a discussion with in-laws (who did a lovely job of looking after the girls and didn't devastate our home too much ) and everything is ok. Phew!! So it was lovely, just a bit fraught at the end. DD1 is not too bad now, but still a bit poorly and very very tired (in bed now, unheard of for her to have a daytime nap anymore despite not even being two yet!)

So my advice when you go away in June Poppies is to make sure you have your mobile enabled to work while out of the country (if you are going out of the country!!) And to have a special "check in" time in the evening where you call whoever is looking after your little ones just to make sure all is ok and to answer any questions that they might have (i.e. MIL didn't have a clue how to sterlise DD2's bottles so just didn't bother Sigh!! ) It'll be lovely for you to be away for a while - they were delighted to see us this morning, was very very lovely and cute!!

Have read through messages and continue to pray - We should defintely have a summary every couple of days so no one gets forgotten!!

Good to have you with us B&M - STAY!!!!!! You are welcome here - thank you for sticking up for what you believe - didn't read the thread, but it takes some guts to stick to your guns and I admire you!!

Keeping praying all!!

How are the Dunne Family???? Have been holding them particularly close with the surgery etc...
