CaptainDippy · 23/01/2006 09:04

Hello - Due to popular demand, I have set up this thread so that MNers can post their prayer requests!! You do not have to be a Christian to post a prayer request, but we Christians believe that prayer really works, so let us pray through a situation for you!! - Let's support and encourage one another through this facility - Here's to many MN prayers being answered!!

one of our mums and tots mums ds has just been diagnosed with leukemia he is just 3 1/2 and has a 70/30 chance of survival, so lets pray that he's one of the 70% He has 8 months of chaemo to endure

MarsOnLife · 02/02/2006 18:44

lwtg, he's on my prayer list. I'll also pray that his mother and father take hope from the fact that his chances of coming through this are higher than his not.

ernest · 03/02/2006 16:54

to loose a child, or even seeing a child poorly is unbearable. I'll be praying xxx.

longwaytogo · 03/02/2006 21:10

Please pray, pray, pray. Looks like the mortgage is going belly up. They writing to employers to ask that i'm permanantly employed - slight problem I just handed my notice in. If we don't get this mortgage life will be so up in the air again. Just when I thought we had turned the corner. This is going to be such a tough next few days, totally stressed out, miserable and panicking slighty, even though the song that has gone through my mind since i found this out is:

I'm in His hand, what'er the future hold i'm in His hands. The days I cannot see have all been planned for me. His way is best you see. I'm in His hands

CaptainDippy · 03/02/2006 23:22

Am praying hard longwaytogo - for your mortgage situation and for the little one with leukaemia, awful awful situation for him and his family - praying for miracle healing.

Thank you for putting us back on track after a slight diversion - I know that stuff with QofQ needed to be clarified, but this is not the thread to be doing it on - We will pray for her and the people affected by any comments that made have been made, but I think that we hsould just leave it - or open up another thread for discussions of that nature.

Morning all!! How is everyone - any developments in anyone's situations - any new requests!!?

I have a couple of requests please.....

I know that my friend's little boy Finlay has had Chicken Pox over the past week and has been a poorly little chappie. However, I gpt a call from his granddad (my friends' dad) yesterday asking us to call him back. I have tried and tried and I cannot get hold of him. I have also tried my friends' landline and their mobiles, but to no avail. I am really starting to get worried now - I know that they wouldn't have taken an infectious little boy out of the house so the only conclusion that I can come with is that he is in hospital. I am really starting to worry now. Please pray they contact soon us and that it isn't anything serious!! Thank you!!

Also, please pray for my friends Jon and Jenni - they have just had a baby boy (on 31st) called Freddie. Jenni and Freddie are now home safe and sound, but Jon is in hospital as he can horrendeous kidney stones - Please pray that these can be dealt with quickly and effectively and that this little family can be together again soon!!

Cheers guys - means a lot!!

Hi all.

I found out today that a mum at school has got breast cancer. She went for a check up at the DRs and 2 hours later was in hospital being scanned. She has an op booked for Tuesday. She has 3 children.

Another mum at school has had a reoccurence of breast cancer. She has 3 very young children.

A dad at school was made redundant about a year ago and is desperate to find work.

Thank you for your prayers. Have added yours to my list CaptainD.

KateF · 04/02/2006 18:05

Hi all. Have you seen PeachyClair's thread wanting help from Christians for her essay?

Will add to my prayer list all your new concerns. Please pray for the Dunne family from my church. He is critically ill in hospital needind an emergency heart transplant. They have 2 young sons.

almostanangel · 04/02/2006 18:11

please can i have a little one ? xx

fostermum · 05/02/2006 08:40

im back in the uk,homeless pennyless, and still wishing i was dead, what possible purpose could your god have for me?

KateF · 05/02/2006 08:44

Fostermum-please don't give up. I don't know if you are a Christian but I am sure God has a plan for you and I'm so sorry it's so hard just now. I've been through some rough times too (depression, miscarriage, relationship problems) but God has always pulled me through. I will pray for you every day but please seek some help in RL whether it be your doctor, minister, whatever. Check in here whenever you want-there's usually someone about

CaptainDippy · 05/02/2006 09:05

Hello!! On to it Mars and KateF (please keep us updated with the mums with cancer, the redundant dad and the Dunne Family.)

I second what KateF said fostermum - I will pray for you everyday - I will offer you up to God and pray that He would make a transformation in your life and in your situation, but you have to ask for some help too - Do feel free to offload and to ask for more prayer etc anytime - that is what this thread is designed for - Keep us up to date with how stuff is going for you and if you are not a Christian, then give church a go or at least give God a go - He does listen to us and He does answer our prayers - Just not always in the way we expect!! (I am sure there are plenty of peeps on this thread that can vouch for that! ) Keep going and keep trusting that things can be better for you. You are worth more than this.

Little update - went to see my friends Jenni and Jon last night - baby Freddie is home now and was happily asleep in his bouncy chair for our whole visit (wish my babies had done that!!) Jon is home from hospital too and was looking ok (putting together a filing cabinet so things can't be too bad right now.) The conclusion is that he has kidney stones - ouch and that there is a blockage that is preventing his kidney from filtering properly. The long and short of it is that he now has to wait for the blockage to "pass" (ouch, ouch, ouch) He has lots of painkillers at the ready and is just hoping that it will all be over quickly. He has a review at the hospital in a month or so. Please please pray for a miracle healing on this one - Not the best thing to be happening when you are trying to enjoy your paternity leave and help your wife look after a newborn and put your brand new house straight all at the same time. Sigh.

I haven't heard from my other friends yet and cannot get through either - getting more and more worried by the hour. Might try calling their local hospital today.

Also, could you pray for me - I feel rather sick and have a 'runny tummy' - DH and I are supposed to be going away for the 1st time together this Tues/ Wed / Thurs and I don't want to miss it - Please please pray everything goes back to 'normal' soon. I HATE being ill. Bleurgh!!

Thank you for your prayers.

I'll get onto Peachyclair's thread now!!

Pfer · 05/02/2006 09:30

could we have a prayer for the return of sanity in the world. for tolerance and acceptance of our differences.

CaptainDippy · 05/02/2006 14:12

Absolutely pfer!! Absolutely!

OP posts:
Aloha · 05/02/2006 14:13

Does God actually look at two sick babies and think, 'hmmm, one is being prayed for...he shall live, and one is not, he shall die'? What kind of God is this?

alliep30 · 05/02/2006 14:16

i'm with u aloha... also i don't get the tsunami day after big christian celebration thing....

CaptainDippy · 05/02/2006 14:37

This is not the thread to be discussing these things on - I don't want an intolerent and heated debate stasrted on here. I am more than happy to begin a seperate debate on the ins-and-outs of theodicy, but not here - This is just a thread for people to add prayer requests to if they would like to, not for people to question my beliefs and the beliefs of others. I have totaly respect for anyone else and what they choose to belive, but I don't think it is fair to gatecrash someone elses thread to start tearing apart something they hold dear.

OP posts:
CaptainDippy · 05/02/2006 14:42

And no God would never do that to two sick babies - just because one is being prayed for and one isn't is not an instant guarentee that one will live and one will die. That is not how faith works. How sad that you should think that. I will pray for you both Aloha and alliep30. I am sorry that I am not eloquent enough to explain things succintly, but please use this thread for prayer requests only, not for debate. Thank you.

OP posts:
CaptainDippy · 05/02/2006 14:45

Only just noticed your prayer request Alomstanangel - So sorry. Yes - I will pray that a little miracle would spring forth in your womb!! xx
