CaptainDippy · 23/01/2006 09:04

Hello - Due to popular demand, I have set up this thread so that MNers can post their prayer requests!! You do not have to be a Christian to post a prayer request, but we Christians believe that prayer really works, so let us pray through a situation for you!! - Let's support and encourage one another through this facility - Here's to many MN prayers being answered!!

Oh JARM I am sorry the appointment was not as good as you hoped. The injection was probably a steroid to help reduce the swelling. the GP should be able to confirm. Hang in there.

CaptainDippy · 26/01/2006 19:24

Praise the Lord for His goodness to you longwaytogo - and thank you for your prayers re: my housing situation. So hard to put it in God's hands, isn't it!!? I am so feeble and frail compared to Him - How bless I am that He loves even me!!

Thank you for the update JARM and for the encouraging words, Milliways - I'll keep praying for a healing miracle or at least some sort of resolve for you and your family.

Gotta go - dinner calls!!

Keep praying - It does work!! Honest!!

On to it JARM - may you rely on God's strength at this anxious time - Trust in Him and He will make your paths straight. I wish that there was more that I could say JARM, but I AM praying for you, your DH and Jessica and Rebecca at this time - Hang on in there!! [[hugs]]]

hi all

my chest infection is a little better as is my back - having physio - no complaints from me about NHS

more worried about DS
he has since started to refuse to speak to daddy on the phone and even told him not to phone any more (DS is nrly 4)
he cant understand why daddy doesnt want to be married to me anymore
and Sat night we were talking about the possibility of daddy getting a new gf and DS said "I dont like that idea cos daddy wont love me anymore"

I try so hard to reassure him but when I spoke to H about this later and again last night, he just said he hadnt had time to think about it

I know it sounds trivial but I am just worried sick about DS and how this divorce is affecting him....

please pray for guidance and strength to say the right things

devilJARM · 30/01/2006 13:44

Dh has now been given 2 months off following which he will be Y listed meaning permenant sick.

I now need to find a part time job.... fingers crossed in finding one.

CaptainDippy · 30/01/2006 20:38

Why "devil"JARM!!? Will be praying that some sort of resolve comes from this JARM - Keep trusting - and do not lose hope. xx

AnotherPoster · 30/01/2006 20:44

Just to let you know that if you prayed for me last week, thank you. Your prayers saw me through one crisis. I have another one coming up though this week and could do with all your strength surrounding me this week, at least until Friday.

Please remember me, and I will try to remember you when I am at my saddest.

devilJARM · 30/01/2006 21:40

Would value your prayers today.

Am off to do my bit as a first time doula. Waters have gone and I'm on route. Pray I'm more help than hindrance and that the birth goes well.

CaptainDippy · 31/01/2006 18:32

Prayed for you Mars, you brave Doula lady - How did it go??????

NASWM · 31/01/2006 20:11

I'm going to the GP in the morning. Would appreciate a quick prayer that I can hold it together to say what needs to be said. Thanks

CaptainDippy · 31/01/2006 20:55

Will pray NASWM - Keep us updated, hope it goes ok and that God says stuff for you - if you know what I mean!!?

Thanks CaptainD. HE had better, because I couldn't do it without him.

Could do with a bit of advice actually (maybe should start a differnet thread). DS1 (3.5) got upset tonight and said he didn't want to go to Heaven, he wanted to stay in our house... He's not ill or anything, so no immediate concern, but he is becoming more aware of things we say.

CaptainDippy · 31/01/2006 21:20

Oh, NASWM - that is kind of sad - poor little DS!! I guess that he is becoming aware of death and the fact that when people die they "disappear" (it's about the right age for it) I guess it is a big, big scary concept to a wee person (still is when you're a big person!!) I will pray for DS and I guess that if he asks any mroe questions or gets upset again then you just be honest with him and try to explain stuff in a rational way - Try and encourage him and tell him what an absolutely fabulous place Heaven is going to be!!

Please pray for Queen of Quotes who has felt obliged to leave mumsnet after being given a bad time (because of her Christian beliefs)on a controversial thread recently. She and her dh have been through a very rough time recently and I think she has needed mumsnet to let off steam. I am worried that she has now lost something that was a big prop to her. Thanks.
P.S. keeping you all in my prayers

mcmudda · 31/01/2006 21:43

Hi everyone

Please could you could pray that dh will find a good job - he's taking voluntary redundancy from a great job only because we feel it's the right thing to do (after a lot of prayer).
If he doesn't get something we can live off his redundancy money for about 6 months and then we'll be living by faith.
Strangely not too worried atm, because the Lord has never let us down before - although it's often felt like we're going through the mill at the time. But I know we also shouldn't get too complacent and stop praying.
We feel that God wants us to use our house as a retreat for anyone who needs to escape and get away from it all - whether Christian or not - no pressure - just peace and quiet.
If dh gets a new job quickly then we can use the redundancy money to get central heating/replace dodgy flooring/generally turn a wreck into a haven IYSWIM.
Long post - but I figure it's important for you to see where I'm coming from on this

Great thread.

KateF · 31/01/2006 22:03

What a wonderful plan mcmudda. May the Lord bless you and continue to guide you.

MarsOnLife · 01/02/2006 00:16

Hi all.

Thank you for your prayers. It was a wonderful, short delivery. We went to hospital at 17.03 and the baby was born at 17.35. He was crowning as we arrived. Mum did the birth without any pain relief and also delivered the placenta without interference. Truly wonderful experience.
