:o 79 each now!

DutchOma · 21/07/2011 14:48

I registerd, logged in, but it only tells me that I have not raised any funds for them, not that I have voted for them.

MaryBS · 21/07/2011 15:36

It doesn't seem to register the vote first time, only when you go back.

Just back from the school leaver service (as led by yours truly). It went very well, I managed not to cry, even though DD was. Am shattered now though!

NearlyHeadlessnickelbabe · 25/07/2011 11:32

anyone around today?
:)

MaryBS · 25/07/2011 12:06

. Licensing of our new priest today!

NearlyHeadlessnickelbabe · 25/07/2011 12:14

ooooooohhh! exciting Grin

MaryBS · 25/07/2011 13:13

I hope so, as I think I'm feeling a bit wobbly about it all. No proper reason for it other than tiny things upsetting me more than they should.

NearlyHeadlessnickelbabe · 25/07/2011 13:23

I'm sure it'll be fine - new priests are always scary, because you just don't know what they'll be like till they're in charge! :)

do you want about talk about what's upsetting you?

MaryBS · 25/07/2011 13:26

Still having problems with one of the CWs...

MadHairMoody · 25/07/2011 14:01

Hope it goes well Mary :)

Hello all. Had a good weekend with our farewell party. Was emotional. Very tired out now and dd is ill. All too much for her. Still we are off to New wine on Saturday and I am ridiculously excited. I need this soooo much, so does dh. It will be like an oasis between two worlds, kind of (hopefully!) Trying to get so much sorted beforehand, but not really succeeding!!

NearlyHeadlessnickelbabe · 25/07/2011 16:41

ah. Well, I hope they find some strength to do/see what's right.

mhd - sounds good.
change all round, eh! Grin

DutchOma · 25/07/2011 17:39

Errmm, keep meaning to ask Nickel why you are nearlyheadless. And which way is it going? Is your head nearly ready to fall off, or has someone managed to screw it back on tight?

NearlyHeadlessnickelbabe · 25/07/2011 17:44

it's my Harry Potter name!
after Nearly Headless Nick, the ghost at hogwarts who was beheaded, btu the head din't come off all the ay! Grin

NearlyHeadlessnickelbabe · 25/07/2011 17:44

that last bit should have said "but the head didn't come off all the way"

i can't type! Blush

PandaG · 25/07/2011 17:55

hello all, sorry for very long absence. Have had a manic few weeks at theend of term. Got slightly less frantic now - only planning for our talks at NW now. DH and I are team pastors for one of the kids work teams.

We did it last year too - involves arranging worship for, and delivering a shortish 'thought for the day' morning and evening for a team of 80 youth and adults who are leading one of the kids groups.

We are off on Friday, to set up ready for the delegates the following day. Really looking forward to it, but am nervous too. Looking forward to meeting MHD while we are there! Grin

MaryBS · 25/07/2011 17:55

I twigged that nickel! :)

DutchOma · 25/07/2011 21:43

NearlyHeadlessnickelbabe · 26/07/2011 10:11

hey Panda! I was wondering where you'd got to - thought you might have namechanged and I'd missed it! Grin

Sounds like you've been busy though :)
and that you've got some fun events coming up

thanksamillion · 26/07/2011 13:22

I'm back too! Holiday club 3 done, one more to go but it's in our village so easier. And one of my friends is coming to visit next week which I'm reallly looking forward to. Off to put some water in a tub in the garden for the DCs as it's well over 30 today Smile

DutchOma · 26/07/2011 14:28

Blush I gave up on Harry Potter in volume 3, when I thought it was getting very boring.

nickelbabe · 26/07/2011 14:31
Grin (i've changed back now)

I think it did get heavy going after volume 3, you're right.
(not boring, cos it was still compelling ,but hard to get through imo)

nickelbabe · 26/07/2011 14:31

i think i skimmed a lot of the last 3 books....

DutchOma · 26/07/2011 16:46

The funniest thing was that our church was very against Harry Potter and wanted to ban all of it. We are still not allowed to sell them in the shop. So they called a meeting and it turned out that I (who was not against them at all) was the only one who had actually read it. Everybody else had read a synopsis and were dead against it.
They never cottoned on to Philip Pullman, which always makes me smile.
